    3. Glue gun.
    4. Paints and brush.

    Video tutorial on making snowmen:

    We use threads

    Next, we will describe two options for how to make a snowman with your own hands for the New Year from threads. One of them is quite simple. This is a snowman made from pompoms, which can be made for a competition for school or kindergarten. For it we need:

    • threads white. Here it is better to take acrylic or wool mixture;
    • half beads for eyes and decorations;
    • ribbon or decorative braid;
    • fluffy wire. It is sold at any craft store;
    • twigs for pens;
    • glue. You can use a hot glue gun or Moment Crystal instant glue.

    Now let's start creating a fluffy snowman:

    1. Initially you need to make 2 pompoms from threads. To do this, take 2 cardboards. One is wider, the other is a little narrower, since we need to make one large pom-pom, the other smaller. You need to wrap as much thread as possible on these cardboards. The pomp of the pompom depends on the number of threads. Then we pull the thread inside the wound threads, tie it at one end and cut it at the other. We get two pompoms for the bottom and top of the snowman.
    2. Now you need to tie both pompoms together using the tails of the threads.
    3. Our snowman is ready. All that remains is to glue on his eyes and nose, buttons and branches on the sides of the handle.
    4. We tie a ribbon scarf to the snowman. Before this, the edges of the tape must be cut in a special way. To do this, fold the tape lengthwise and cut it diagonally from the middle to the tip, unfold the tape, and lightly scorch the edges with a lighter.
    5. Now we make headphones from fluffy wire. Let's bend it as shown in the picture and put it on the snowman's head.

    Step-by-step photos of making New Year's snowmen
    • white threads. This snowman requires knitting cotton;
    • PVA glue;
    • air balloons;
    • twigs for pens;
    • buttons for eyes and for decoration;
    • paper or felt for the hat;
    • a piece of fabric for a scarf;
    • hot glue.

    When everything is ready, we begin to make an openwork thread snowman:

    1. Inflate two hot air balloon. We make one large, the second smaller.
    2. Pour PVA glue into a bowl and soak the threads there.
    3. After that, we immediately begin to wind the threads in glue onto the ball in a random order, chaotically.
    4. When both balls are wrapped with thread, leave them to dry. It's better to leave the balls overnight.
    5. When the threads are dry, you need to burst the balls and carefully pull them out.
    6. Now we glue both balls, the small one on top of the large one.
    7. At the bottom of the large ball, cut off the rounded part with scissors so that the snowman stands steadily.
    8. Glue handles from twigs to the snowman.
    9. We cut out the hat, glue its parts and put it on the top of the snowman’s head, securing it with glue.
    10. Now we need to glue buttons in the form of eyes onto the snowman’s body for decoration.
    11. We make a carrot out of paper or felt and glue it in place of the spout.
    12. We make a scarf from a piece of fabric and tie it to the snowman.

    It should be noted that the process is quite labor-intensive, since you need to carefully make the balls themselves from threads in glue, but when this stage is completed and the balls have dried, all that remains is a pleasant job that you can do together with the kids.

    Such a snowman, made with your own hands for the New Year 2018, will be very good for an exhibition or decoration for a kindergarten or school group.

    Original ideas made from paper

    Paper crafting is a very simple and surprisingly enjoyable activity. Kids really love this type of creativity. For the New Year, you can make a snowman out of paper with your own hands. Below are a few ideas with step by step description their incarnations. Let's see how you can make amazing snowmen from plain paper or from paper napkins.

    Snowman made from palms for a school competition

    • white, blue, orange paper;
    • pencil;
    • scissors;
    • glue.

    Let's get started:

    1. On white paper you need to circle your palms and cut them out. You need to make as many of these palms as possible.
    2. From blue paper we cut out a cap - a triangle and three snowflakes for buttons.
    3. Now we glue the palms. You need to make 3 circles out of them: 1 large, 1 smaller and small.
    4. Glue all three circles together.
    5. Now we glue the cap on top and snowflakes in place of the buttons.
    6. The nose, eyes and smile can be cut out of colored paper and pasted, or you can draw with paints or felt-tip pens.

    The snowman made from palms is ready. It can be attached to the wall of a child’s room or in a kindergarten group.

    Snowman made from paper napkins

    Let's prepare everything we need:

    • white paper napkins;
    • pencil;
    • scissors;
    • glue gun;
    • three foam ball different sizes;
    • skewers or toothpicks for connecting the balls together;
    • buttons for eyes;
    • felt or paper orange cone for the spout;
    • twigs for pens.

    Let's start tinkering:

    1. Napkins need to be cut into squares.
    2. Cut off the bottom of the largest ball so that the bottom is flat for stability.
    3. Now we cover each ball with napkins. We will glue using the trimming technique. To do this, twist a square of napkin onto the other end of a pencil or any wooden stick. Dip it into PVA glue and apply it to the ball. So we cover all the balls. Glue all the elements close to each other, so the balls will turn out fluffier.
    4. Then glue the balls one on top of the other.
    5. We attach the branches - arms and eyes with a nose.

    The paper napkin snowman is ready. You can decorate it to your liking, put a scarf or hat on it.

    Look at some more photos with ideas on how you can make a snowman with your own hands for the New Year:

    Applications with snowmen

    Surprisingly, applique can be made not from paper. Below is a step-by-step master class on how to make a snowman with your own hands for the New Year from cotton pads, which you can send to a competition at school or kindergarten. It will be beautiful New Year's applique. The child himself will be happy to do it, but under the supervision of his parents.

    To tell your child what to do, let’s take a closer look at how to do this. Let's get ready first:

    • cotton pads. We will make a snowman and snowdrifts from them;
    • thick cardboard for the base. It can be any color. Blue, cyan or purple will be very good;
    • glue. You can use PVA or any other for paper;
    • colored paper;
    • scissors.

    Now let's begin:

    1. On the cardboard base we glue a snowman made of three or two cotton pads. Just glue the disks one on top of the other. You can make one or two such snowmen on one cardboard.
    2. Now you need to paint the snowman. Cut out a cap, eyes and nose from colored paper. Cut out the scarf and handles with mittens. We glue all the details onto the snowman.
    3. We will also paste snowdrifts from halves of cotton pads onto the panel of snowmen. You can cut out rectangles of houses and glue them to the sides, drawing the windows with a felt-tip pen.

    The child can dream up his own imagination and come up with something to add to the applique. It could be the sun, clouds, and so on.

    In addition, cotton pads can be used to make an excellent toy. You can hang it on the Christmas tree or decorate it with a Christmas wreath, walls and so on. Let's get ready for work:

    • cotton pads;
    • threads with a needle;
    • a little padding polyester;
    • felt;
    • a pair of beads for eyes;
    • glue. It is better to use a second Crystal Moment.

    Now let's get started:

    1. Let's take 2 disks for the lower part and 2 for the upper. We will cut the ones for the top a little in a circle, making them smaller in diameter.
    2. Now you need to sew the parts together with a seam over the edge. But let's leave a little unstitched edge for filling and sewing them together.
    3. Let's fill both parts with padding polyester.
    4. Let's put them together one on one where there is an unsewn gap and sew them up.
    5. Now let's decorate. We cut out a cap from felt and sew it to the snowman on the top of the head using the same seam.
    6. Next we will glue the beads - eyes. Cut out a triangle of orange felt and glue it in place of the spout.
    7. We will cut out a strip of felt - a scarf and tie it to the snowman.
    8. You can make decorations by cutting out leaves and berries from colored felt and sticking them on the snowman.

    This beauty can be hung on a Christmas tree by attaching a string to it or used to decorate a wreath or for other purposes.

    Plastic cups - turn them into a snowman

    Now let’s make a snowman with our own hands for the New Year 2018 from cups, ordinary plastic disposable cups.

    Such a snowman, made with your own hands, will turn out pretty big size. They can decorate an apartment, a group in a kindergarten, a classroom at school. You can place a garland inside and then the snowman will glow. But let's talk about everything in detail and in order.

    Let's prepare everything for work:

    1. Plastic cups. For one snowman we need as many cups as large as you need the snowman. For a big snowman you need quite a lot. The first row alone will take 25 cups.
    2. Stapler and staples for connecting cups.
    3. You can take a real hat and scarf and then dress up the figurine.
    4. For the eyes, you can take balls equal in size to the neck of the glass. We'll paint them black and put them in the cup itself in the right places.
    5. Glue the nose into a carrot-shaped cone from orange felt.
    6. We will also need a glue gun.

    Let's get started:

    1. Lay out the first row like this. Place the cups in a circle with the bottom inward and the neck outward. We fasten the glasses together with a stapler. We make several rows in this way, each subsequent one is smaller than the previous one, since we place the glasses between those in the previous row.
    2. Now let's make the head. The first row for the ball under the head consists of 18 cups. We do everything exactly the same.
    3. Then we attach the head to the body with a stapler.
    4. Now we insert the balls - eyes. We will first paint them black and attach them with glue.
    5. Then we attach the spout.
    6. We tie a scarf and put a cap on top. For reliability, secure with glue.
    7. You can place a garland inside or leave the snowman like that.

    The snowman can be decorated to your liking. You can attach twigs to him as handles and “give” a broom in his hands. You can attach a wide felt strap to the snowman, or a real one if you can find the right size. Attach it with a stapler.

    You can make buttons from exactly the same balls by attaching them to the neck of the glass in suitable places. Or cut out snowflakes from colored paper and glue them to the snowman anywhere, as if real snow fluffs lay on top of our handsome man.

    You can make such a snowman for a competition for school or kindergarten!

    Who is the snowman?
    Snowman (Snow Woman) is a simple snow sculpture created in winter - mainly by children. Making snowmen is a children's winter game that has come down to us from ancient times, which originated when clearing snow from the yard or paths. The most in a simple way To clean the snow during the thaw, it was to roll it into a snow globe, from which snowmen were made.
    The simplest snowman consists of three snow globes (lumps), obtained by making snowballs and rolling the lying snow onto them. The largest lump becomes the snowman's belly, the smaller one becomes the chest, and the smallest one becomes the head.
    The snowman's hands can be represented by two branches, but sometimes symbolic hands are made from two small lumps of snow. The snowman is often given a shovel or broom in his “hands,” which is stuck into the snow next to the figure. Sometimes the snowman is equipped with two feet made of snowballs, as if peeking out from under the skirt of his fur coat. The canon requires that the snowman's nose be made of carrots (carrots were well preserved until winter in old Russian peasant farms), but in reality modern conditions more often, more accessible materials are used (pebbles, sticks, coals), which also indicate other facial features. Sometimes a bucket is placed on the snowman's head.
    In Russians New Year's tales and cartoons often appears as a companion of Santa Claus. The snowman helps deliver and distribute gifts to children, just like the Snow Maiden. This role is most assigned to the snowman in New Year's cartoons, but in reality he often stands in the yard, pleasing the eyes of those around him and those passing by.

    Stages of completing the craft:
    1. To make a snowman, prepare white cardboard. Below are the templates. They can be printed on a sheet of A-4 format.
    Trace and cut out all three parts.

    2. Place and glue the shapes in the following order.

    3. Cut out eyes, nose and mouth from colored cardboard and glue to the base.

    4. Cut out and glue on a brown hat.

    5. Cut out “branches” from brown cardboard. We have chosen the following form. You can cut two parts at once. Glue on the wrong side.

    6. You can decorate it by adding large blue “buttons” made of paper.

    7. What is a snowman without a broom? Our broom is a strip of cardboard 1 cm wide and 15 cm long. The end of the broom was cut into thin strips and slightly twisted using a scissor blade.

    8. The plot was complicated by adding green Christmas trees. These are isosceles triangles made of green cardboard of different sizes.

    9. Let's place our snowman with a broom near the Christmas trees.

    10. To make the broom serve its intended purpose, we added fluffy snowflakes.
    Well, this is real snowfall!

    Our snowman will participate in the school children's competition for the new year.
    Thank you everyone for your attention to children's paper art!

    The New Year is just around the corner. Absolutely everyone, especially children, is looking forward to this holiday! We associate New Year with snow and all the accompanying winter fun: sleds, skis, ice skates and, of course, the snow woman. As soon as the first snow falls, children run into the courtyards to build a snowman.

    What to do if there is no snow, but your soul requires a snowy friend? Nothing is impossible in the world, especially on the eve of the New Year! You can make a real snowman not only from snow, and in this article we will tell you in detail and even show you how!

    Paper snowmen

    You can make snowmen with your own hands from any materials, even the most unexpected ones, but we will start with something simple - with paper. Well, firstly, everyone has paper in the house, even those who are completely far from needlework. In any case, there will definitely be a couple of sheets of white paper. And for the snowman we just need white paper. And secondly, paper crafts are quite simple and easy to make.

    #1 Draw a snowman

    Here's a great craft idea for kindergarten - a snowman in a snow globe. You need to cut out two simple blanks from colored paper; by the way, kids can easily do it on their own; the elements are large and do not require special care. And then draw a snowman and snowfall in the ball with your fingers. The snowman craft for kindergarten is ready!

    Here's another craft idea for little ones. Snowmen in this case are drawn using traffic jams from plastic bottles. Need two plugs different sizes(more and less). Spread it with white paint and make an imprint. Draw in the face, handles and buttons with felt-tip pens when the paint is completely dry. A hat and scarf can be made from colored tape, colored paper or felt, for example.

    #2 Applications

    Easy-to-make snowman crafts using the applique technique. You will need white paper, glue and a little imagination. The simplest option is three circles glued onto a sheet of colored or painted paper for contrast. You can further decorate the craft with glitter, sequins, stickers, etc.

    Here is another version of a simple craft using the applique technique. The snowman does not look straight, but upward, which adds magic and reality to the craft.

    But here is a slightly more complex option with small decorative elements. You can download the template of the snowman and decorative elements below the picture.

    And here is a snowman craft that can be hung on a Christmas tree as a toy or used as a gift tag, indicating who the gift is for and from whom.

    And here is a version of a snowman for kindergarten. The kid will be able to cope with such a task quite well, and most importantly, he will not have time to lose interest, because he will be able to do almost everything himself.

    Here is a great option for an advent calendar. You can make such a craft with your child, and it will be very convenient for him to count the days until the most important holiday or until the holidays. You can download the template under the photo.

Moreover, you can cut out not only abstract patterns, but also entire concrete compositions. Vytynki often decorate the windows of schools, kindergartens, shops and office buildings. Winter compositions look especially beautiful. This is probably why it is customary for us to decorate windows with cut-outs in new year holidays. You can find ready-made snowman templates below.

    Snowmen treats

    You can decorate with snowmen New Year's table. Themed treats are especially relevant for children's parties. So if you are planning a big children's party, be sure to pay attention to snowmen in the form of treats.

    An unusual delicacy awaits guests, made from salted rings and white chocolate. You will need: chewing toffee, a ring, chocolate (white and dark). Place the toffee on parchment and drop a little melted chocolate in the center. Then place the rings in this place and secure with chocolate again. Fill the rings themselves with chocolate and decorate with chocolate chips (eyes, nose, mouth, buttons). Wait until the chocolate hardens and wrap the scarf in toffee. The treats will come off the parchment very easily. All that remains is to place the snowmen on a plate!

    And here are snowmen on a stick. To prepare you will need sandwich cookies, white chocolate, chocolate chips and red round candies. Place the cookies on a stick and dip them in chocolate. Immediately decorate with chocolate chips and red candy and send to dry. You can put it on parchment to dry, the chocolate will not stick or rub off.

    And to prepare such a treat you will need: chocolate (white and dark), bread sticks, marmalade for the nose.
