• Absorbent or absorbent layer. Retains liquid and turns it into a gel to prevent backflow. The amount of liquid absorbed depends on this layer.
• Outer layer. Prevents clothes from getting wet and liquid leaking out.

Disposable diapers may have special pockets on the back and elastic bands around the legs to prevent leaks.

Manufacturers often add flavorings whose effectiveness is questionable. Sometimes they can be harmful, because... They have a very strong and not very pleasant smell.
