Progress.

1. Let's start making flowers.
1) Take the tray and cut it into pieces.

2) We will need 21 such parts (3 parts per flower).

3) Fold in half.

4) Draw the shape of a petal.

5) Cut it out.

6) Part of the flower is ready. One rose will require 3 such parts.

7) Bend the petals of two parts carefully to the sides with your fingers.

8) Carefully shape the petals. One rose will require two of these.

9) We make the middle of the rose.

10) We twist the resulting part.

11) Let's move on to coloring the petals. This is where children will need the help of an adult (I recommend wearing gloves). Lay it out on newspaper and carefully paint each part on both sides.

12) The lower petals are ready. You need 7 of them.

13) Medium rose petals.

14) Central petals.

15) Collect a flower. Apply glue to the inside of the lower petals.

16) Insert the middle petals and drip glue into the center.

17) Glue the central petals.

18) Glue a bead to the center of the flower with polymer glue (later it will serve as a limiter for the branch).

19) We make 7 such flowers.

20) At the bottom of each flower we make a hole and insert a twig into it.

21) Roses are ready!

Let's start making the vase.
1) Take a bottle and nylon. Cut off a part from the tights 10 cm longer than the height of the bottle.

2) We dilute PVA glue with water in a container (about 2 parts glue and 1 part water).

3) Soak the nylon.

4) We insert the bottle inside the nylon.

5) Carefully cover the bottom of the bottle with the edge of the nylon.

6) We tuck the other edge of the nylon inward (about 1 cm).

7) Drape the remaining nylon randomly. Let the glue dry.

8) Then we paint the caprn on the bottle with the same paint as the roses. Let the paint dry and decorate the vase. Glue the beads with polymer glue. The vase is ready.

We compose a composition.

Eggs are one of the main products in our diet. In Week average family Out of 3-4 people, up to two or even three dozen eggs can be consumed (if you use them in baking). Where should the packaging go? If you still think that egg cartons are only good for seedlings, here are a few alternative options their applications.

Container for birds

Egg cartons make wonderful bird feeders. Autumn is gaining momentum, and birds will soon need our support. Even a child can make feeders. It is enough to thread threads along the edges, fill the recesses with food and hang this simple structure on a tree branch.

Cardboard sound insulation

Often our peace is disturbed by external noises, including neighboring renovations, which simply tire our ears. Why not soundproof? And you don’t have to spend money on materials - used egg cartons are suitable for these purposes. They cover the walls and ceiling. This is how one rock music lover built his own home recording studio.

Part of compost

If you've started creating a compost bin and have already added food scraps and weeds into it, be sure to add some dry ingredients, which may include dry leaves, grass, and crushed egg cartons. For optimal compost composition, it is recommended to combine dry and wet waste in a ratio of 50x50.

Children are happy

Most egg cartons are made from recycled cardboard or paper, which is a great material for kids' crafts. From it you can create a lot of funny little things that will not only delight your children, but will also contribute to the development of their imagination and stimulate creativity.

Bright palette

Mini egg containers are also good as a paint palette. Plastic containers are best - they are more practical. Each cell can contain different paints. After creative activities, the egg carton can be easily closed and carefully put away until next time.

New Year's trifle

Not far away new year holidays that need to be greeted with a decorated Christmas tree. If you store large decorations for the forest beauty in large boxes or containers, then egg cells are quite suitable for small balls and beads. They are lightweight and easy to handle. They will keep small decorations in order and not get lost.

Treasure Chest

In addition to New Year's trinkets, egg boxes are convenient for storing all kinds of household items - be it construction items (nails, screws, self-tapping screws, etc.) or sewing accessories (threads, needles, thimbles, etc.). To add aesthetics, the box can be painted and decorated. And on the cells it is useful to write or attach the necessary notes with numbers or letters.

Serious crafts

This is a way for the most patient and creative to make furniture or even a house out of egg cartons. For example, one Australian contractor, Tom Silva, built a small home out of egg cartons in the Lego style and called his project “The Original Dream.” But there is one catch - you will need a lot of material. It is unlikely that you have saved up for such large crafts a sufficient number of boxes. You can beg for them in warehouses or stores, or order them from a wholesale manufacturer.

New art

Contemporary artists love to explore unconventional materials as the basis for their masterpieces. They didn't ignore egg cartons either. One Dutch painter Enno de Kroon even came up with a whole movement - “egg cubism”. Instead of canvas, he uses egg containers, painting them in a special way and resulting in an interesting, three-dimensional work. Looking at it from different angles, each time you can see new images.

Cardboard light

An original and practical use for egg cartons was invented by Spanish designer Federico Oterino. He created stylish lamps and floor lamps from them. This is quite simple to do: just connect two or three boxes into a round, three-dimensional shape.

Mini-kindergartens

If you have something to grow seedlings in, try growing mini-gardens of low-growing plants in egg boxes. It will become unusual and stylish accessory for your home, as well as fun and educational activity for your children. In such small containers it is convenient to grow healthy watercress, onions or special grass for cats.

Tree protection

A voluminous, high fence made from egg containers designed for young seedlings looks great. Practical and aesthetic design. But again, you can’t do without a large amount of material.

Vase without bottom

If you like simple home crafts, create an ordinary vase from an egg carton. Bend a large container of 30 eggs into three or four equal parts and glue its edges. You can put dried flowers in such a vase without a bottom.

Egg trays- the most easily accessible material for needlework. You don’t have to go far to find it, you just need to save them and not throw them away. In this post I will tell you how to turn ordinary cardboard egg boxes into beautiful flowers. By the way, involve the kids in this activity, I’m sure they will like it.

I suggest making roses, daffodils and cyclamens from egg screens.

Roses from egg trays.
We will need:

  • cardboard egg boxes
  • acrylic paints
  • brushes, scissors
  • pieces of fabric of pink and green color, you can do without them.

These are the roses Rosie Jo makes.

Let's prepare all the necessary materials to get started.

Cut off the cone-shaped tops from the box, flatten them, fold them in half and cut out the petals.

Bend them slightly from the center, forming petals. Cut another cone in the same way. Cut it and open it.

Form the inner petals. Put these two parts together and you get this rough rose.

It's time to give the flower color. We will use two shades of pink. To get a gradient color, take white and pink paints. We use a rich color for the center of the flower, moving to more pink on the outer petals.

Let the paint dry. After which the petals can be formed and glued again. After assembling the flower, touch up any irregularities and cracks with paint.

You can also add individual petals to give the rose dimension. Rose is ready!

You can glue fabric to the outer petals of the rose using PVA glue. Glue small rectangles to each petal.

Let it dry and trim off excess fabric. For the sepals we select green fabric.

This is what the flower looks like from the reverse side. Now you can insert it into a wreath or make a stem from floral wire. In the same way, you can make unopened rose buds, using 2-3 petals.

We enjoy the result! 🙂

Daffodils from egg trays

What is a narcissist made of? Petals, trumpet) - roughly speaking, and stamens stick out from it. Let the botanists not ridicule me for such a free interpretation.

When creating daffodils from egg trays, all we need from the box itself is the sides for the petals. Let's draw petals schematically on the box and cut them out. For 1 flower you need 6 petals. The petals must be drawn so that a small part of it covers the bottom of the box. This way the petals will have a concave shape.

Cut a circle from the lid of the box and use it and glue to connect the petals together.

Now we cut off this part from the sidewall. We twist it into a pipe and glue it to the middle of the flower.

The flower is almost ready, all that remains is to make the stamens for it. Cut a rectangle from the box lid and make a fringe. Glue it to the base of the flower in the center of the pipe.

Is there any resemblance to a real, living flower? Well then all that remains is to paint it with acrylic paints.

Cyclamens from egg trays

The scheme for creating cyclamen from egg trays is extremely simple, but in the end the result is quite similar to reality.

We will need:

  • Cardboard egg box;
  • Floral wire and ribbon;
  • Acrylic paints.

Cut out a cone from the egg carton along with the bottom (bases for 4 eggs). Cut 4 squares.

On the resulting pyramid we draw petals and cut them out. The result is a cup of the future flower. We paint it soft pink.

From such seemingly inconspicuous-looking waste material as egg trays, you can make very beautiful objects. Once you make one craft, you will stop throwing egg trays in the trash. The first thing you can try to do with your children is tulips. By cutting the tray into cells, you will get an almost finished tulip; all that remains is to slightly correct its shape, paint it and make a stem if necessary.

For painting it is better to use acrylic-based paints. Flowers without stems are used to decorate home furnishings, cards, invitations, etc.

Roses from their trays

You can also make roses. How to make a rose craft from a tray with your own hands? The answer is very simple. To do this you need to prepare:

  • egg cartons;
  • scissors;
  • green corrugated paper;
  • paints and brush;
  • glue or glue gun.

Step 1. Divide the tray into cells (cones) using scissors. Make four cuts on each piece. The result is a blank of four petals. For one flower you need four of them.

Step 2. Open the cone and process the edges of the petals: give them a rounded shape, cutting off sharp corners. Do this with all the blanks.

Step 3. Make cuts on each part towards the center, this will simplify the process of gluing the flower. Using a wooden stick or the handle of a brush, you can curl the edges of each workpiece.

Step 4. Paint the blanks in any color you like. To add naturalness, the centers of the petals can be painted with a lighter tone. Allow the workpiece to dry.

Step 5. Gently bend the tips of two opposite petals in half and glue them together as if the bud is closed. Glue another pair of petals to this base.

Step 6. Do the same with the second and third workpiece. And we cut the fourth into separate petals and glue them to the resulting bud. The master class on making roses from trays is completed.

With the resulting roses you can decorate a ready-made photo frame or create your own. In the center of a rectangular cardboard base you need to glue a photo, leaving a few centimeters at the edges. Empty edges are filled with flowers. You can make a wreath for the door in the same way.

Crafts with children

Paper egg cartons are great for crafts with kids. You don’t mind throwing them away if things don’t work out. But this activity develops perseverance and stimulates creative imagination.

An interesting option for crafts with young children is a caterpillar (centipede). To make it, you need to cut a row of 5-6 cells from the tray, paint it, decorate it with ribbons and threads. Antennae and paws can be made from chenille wire. A little imagination, bright colors and the toy is ready.

For those who like to draw, you can make a box for crayons. If you color the cells according to the colors of the crayons, you can kill two birds with one stone. There will be a place to store crayons, as well as the ability to sort them by color, while developing logical thinking in children.

The cell (cone) from the tray serves as the basis for creating various animals, birds and insects. You can make a penguin, hare, whale, turtle, ladybug, chicken and much more that your imagination suggests.

Everything ingenious is simple. A tray for a dozen eggs is a ready-made base for a ship. We install the mast, sail and go!

From an egg carton you can make original boxes for jewelry or handicrafts. The boxes are first coated with white acrylic paint inside and out. Then they can be painted and covered with decoupage napkins.

Papier-mâché crafts

Many people use trays to create crafts using the papier-mâché technique. The boxes are crushed, soaked in water, mixed with glue (PVA, wallpaper, paste). It makes an excellent mass for modeling. Having collected a large number of trays, you can make a figure for the garden, etc.

On the Internet you can find a large number of photographs of crafts made from egg trays. They can be used as:

  • feeders;
  • bouquet of flowers;
  • containers for growing seedlings;
  • boxes and much more.

You won't have the urge to throw egg cartons in the trash anymore. They can and should be used for creativity. Create beauty with your own hands!

Photos of crafts from egg trays

Egg trays are one of the suitable materials for various crafts with your own hands. Egg boxes come in 3 types: cardboard, plastic and foam. Due to ease of use, standard cardboard trays are most often used for papier-mâché crafts: to create a variety of flowers, animals, and even for decorating rooms.

They create from foam and plastic trays original crafts for the home, for example, lamps.
