Decorative vase made of threads. How to make a vase from a ball and thread

Let’s do some handicrafts with you... remember, we have already started getting acquainted with? Let's move on to practice today and look at the papier-mâché thread technique. Let's start by figuring out how to make a cocoon from threads and think about what use it can be found... there are now quite a few different master classes on this topic on the Internet... I will tell you my approach to this type of creativity.

So let's get started...

papier-mâché from threads - how to make a cocoon

In order to make a “cocoon” from threads using the papier-mâché technique, we will need:

  • balloon IR
  • thread - ordinary sewing thread, but thick (it used to be marked as No. 10, now I don’t know... preferably cotton, (it’s just that cotton paper soaks in glue better), you can take thicker threads, you can even use rope, but then a little the technology for lubricating it with glue will change. Today we will work with a simple thread. True, I used two threads of different thicknesses here (whatever was leftover was the one that went into use)))
  • needle - long
  • glue. Here I want to say that I use STATIONERY glue (silicate), and not white (pva). Why? Firstly, I was taught this way a long time ago))), and secondly (and this is the main reason) when it hardens, office glue “glazes” and becomes very hard, unlike PVA, which is quite plastic and “soft”, like rubber , and when dry it becomes like rubber...

After we have prepared all the components, we proceed directly to creativity))) we thread the end of the thread from the spool (ball) into the needle and pierce the jar of glue,
pull the thread through the glue, remove the needle
Now we will wrap the ball with thread, slowly pulling it through a jar of glue... The thread itself will be smeared and saturated with glue)))
How many threads do you need? According to your taste and desire))) It took me about two spools... When you decide that there is enough thread, just cut it... if you think that there is not enough glue on the thread, then take a regular brush and brush the glue over the surface of the cocoon, just don’t overdo it ))).

And forget about the craft until tomorrow... let it dry thoroughly)))
The cocoon has dried... it has become hard... take a needle and pierce the ball))). After that, we extract it from the cocoon...
My ball was torn into two parts... I just pulled the first one out by the “tail”, and to get the second one you either need to find a place where there is a fairly large gap between the threads or just make a hole with scissors. This is the basis of most crafts using the papier-mâché thread technique. That's what they do And any interior crafts, toys....my imagination, as of today, was only enough for a vase))).

How to make a vase from threads

We cut the cocoon into two unequal parts... In principle, these parts can already be adapted into a nest))) for....
or stuff it there)))….

but we will still move on...

and glue these two parts together, only upside down))) Actually, in the papier-mâché thread technique, the parts are supposed to be sewn together with thread, but in this case I need the fastening to be “rigid”, so I used adhesive with a pistol... The result is a vase made of threads...

I couldn’t think of anything smarter than how to cover the resulting vase with spray paint... In my opinion, it turned out quite well)))

Hello, dear readers! In today's master class, I want to tell you how to make a vase from threads. The process of making a vase will not take much time and effort, and the result will definitely please you. Such a vase made of threads will definitely fit perfectly into any interior and will arouse the interest of your guests... Well, let's get started!

For work we will need:

  • Salad bowl, bowl or plate (that is, select a suitable plate);
  • Glue plate;
  • PVA glue;
  • Scissors;
  • Threads (preferably wool);
  • Foil;
  • Spray paint.

Cover the selected salad bowl with foil, fold the edges of the foil inside the plate.

Slice wool threads, the pieces of thread can be absolutely any (I cut them about 20 - 30 cm).

Pour PVA glue into a plate and soak the cut pieces of thread in it.

We begin to apply the threads to the salad bowl covered with foil, you can glue the threads in a mess, as it turns out... I tried to recreate something similar to a nest, so I glued the threads first across, then along.

When all the prepared threads are glued, leave the vase to dry. A vase made of thread and glue will dry for about 24 hours.

After that, we remove the wicker vase from the salad bowl and begin to carefully separate the foil from the threads. We begin to separate along the edges, from top to bottom, moving along the perimeter of the product.

When the foil is completely removed, cover the surface of the table with newspaper, place the vase bottom up, arm yourself with a can of paint, and begin spraying paint over the surface of the vase. By the way, a DIY vase made from thread looks much more impressive with a glossy sheen, so it’s better to purchase paint with shimmering particles (I used chrome paint).

When the paint dries, turn the vase upside down and paint the inside of it, then leave the product to dry again.

Since a vase made from threads turns out to be extremely light, it can be weighted with small stones or one large cobblestone, pre-painted to match the vase.

In such a vase you can store jewelry, knitting supplies, and simply use it as an independent decorative item!

As a result of today's master class, we got a stylish vase made of threads and glue, covered with chrome paint, and also weighted with pre-painted cobblestones.

7. Woven thread mandala

A do-it-yourself vase made from thread is an easy-to-make and elegant souvenir. It can be made in two ways - on a balloon or using a solid frame. Even a child can master the creative process. The principle is based on the fact that the threads are wetted with glue, which then hardens. The structure hardens into the shape you gave it.

What you will need

To make the product you will need:

  • Threads - knitting, floss, twine or even sewing. The thinner they are, the longer it will take to wrap the structure.
  • Balloon. It’s better to have several at once, in case something goes wrong.
  • A plastic or glass container (if you are using a solid frame) onto which the thread will be glued. The base needs to be wrapped with cling film.
  • Stationery glue or paste from potato starch. For strength, you can add a little PVA to it.
  • Decor that depends only on your creative imagination. The lace trim, bows, and flowers look cute and touching.

To attach decorative elements, it is convenient to use a glue gun with silicone.

Step-by-step instruction

The process of creating a vase is as follows:

  1. The first step is to inflate the balloons. You can create vases that are quite large in size - the glued thread will hold its shape well. Naturally, the more the product is needed, the more the balloon is inflated.
  2. From a tube of glue you need to build a structure through which the thread will pass, wetted with the composition. It will be convenient for someone to soak the entire skein in the mixture or come up with another way. It is important that the threads are attached to the ball and that their entire mass is well saturated with glue.
  3. After careful wrapping, the structure is sent to dry. It is better to do this in the sun, but you can do it near a radiator or with a hairdryer.
  4. After all the threads have dried and the workpiece has hardened, you can remove the ball. First the tail is cut off. Then the ball is pierced with a needle. You will hear it hissing and crackling, gradually deflating and separating from the walls of the thread frame.
  5. You can remove the ball after the hole is cut. The frame cuts very well. You can give the vase any look - a shallow bowl, a spherical vase, a basket, a house with a window. From one oval blank you get two products if you cut the frame in half.
  6. After the hole is made and the ball is removed, it is time to decorate. You can decorate the surface of the vase with flowers, lace, and attach butterflies or ladybugs to it.

Crafts from threads

Every needlewoman has leftover yarn and thread in her home, which will eventually find a use, because many different crafts can be made from them.

Crafts made from threads turn out soft, if you do not use glue or paste, or hard, and at the same time very light, airy and openwork.

For example, you can make an unusual openwork vase from threads.

Making a thread vase with my daughter has long been on my handicraft plans, but every time there were more urgent and important things to do.

And it is unknown how much longer this idea would have remained unrealized if not for the Bardabas themed surprise box. One of the crafts that was proposed to be made in our set was just such a vase.

And when everything necessary materials are already ready - then half the battle can be considered already done.

How to make a vase from threads

In the "Bardabas" set, according to the instructions for this craft, a slightly different option for making this vase was offered - instead of glue, it was necessary to weld paste.

My daughter and I worked with paste for the first time, we liked the result - the product turned out to be very strong and holds its shape well.

Using a thread vase

In such a vase you can store balls of other threads, various small items, as well as sweets,

Easter eggs

or decorative eggs, also made from threads.

If desired, you can put a napkin, paper or fabric, inside the vase.

CRAFTS FROM THREAD AND BALL: How to make BALLS with THREAD and GLUE

9. At the top of the string egg, make a ribbon loop so it can be hung. You can carefully cut a ball of thread, as shown in the picture, bend the edges and get a flower bud.

Yes, don’t be surprised, it’s made from threads. Moreover, you can hang them from the ceiling, put them on a table, and even make a lamp out of them (read the topic about DIY lampshades). All we need is PVA glue, balloons, threads, Vaseline, a needle, scissors, oilcloth.

Making balloons from threads and balloons

Having finished the winding, cut off the thread and hide the tail under the turns. Wet the ball again with glue using a cotton swab or brush. We leave the finished ball to dry for a day in a suspended state. After a day, we pierce the balloon with a needle and carefully remove it from the web.

The shape of the ball or fingertip should be voluminous and oblong. It can be made from foil or cardboard with delicious candy wrappers attached. For the birds we need two balls: one round, the second oblong. For flowers, you need to inflate and wrap small-diameter balloons. We leave the smallest ones as they are - these will be buds. From balls bigger size we form the flowers ourselves.

Carefully fold the edges outward and bend them slightly. The edges turned out sloppy, didn't they? We decorate them with airy lace in the color of the thread or braid. Divide the ball into two halves. But we cut out the edges with an asterisk (this is how we usually cut a tomato to decorate dishes). We insert one half into the other, gluing them together with glue or double-sided tape.

And it’s so simple... I’ve already encountered something similar before (did it in kindergarten, and they put rain inside), but I had no idea that it could be designed so original. They are lightweight, you can hang them or build a stand in the form of a vase from a trimmed PET bottle.

We offer another craft from the budget decor ideas series. These thread balls are simple, inexpensive and beautiful way Decorate your home for the holidays without requiring any special decorating skills or large expenses. Step 3: Place the threads in glue. It's better to do this in portions. Step 7: Once the balloon has set (it should be firm and springy), pierce the balloon with a needle and remove it from the string ball. If the balloon is stuck at the edges, remove it with tweezers.

Snowman made of thread and PVA glue (step by step)

Such balls can be hung in the form of a garland, placed in a basket or in a vase. Inflatable balls can also be used various forms and sizes. 213Thread balls can also be used for decoration festive table or as decoration for a party or romantic dinner, both indoors and outdoors.

A thread egg will become a creative decorative element or an original gift. In this article we will look at several ways to create crafts from thread with your own hands. 1. Inflate the balloon to the appropriate size. 2. The surface of the ball must be lubricated thick cream or Vaseline. 4. Lubricate each layer of thread with glue. The transparency of the craft will depend on the number of layers and density.

6. Threads can be dyed acrylic paints in any color. 7. Cut a hole in the side of the ball. Decorate it with flowers or buttons. 4. The craft will consist of two parts, which will then need to be glued together.

When the half is filled with threads, coat it with glue and leave to dry. 6. When the half is dry, release it from the mold and begin making the second half. 3. Take a thread of any color. Hold the tip with your finger and wind the thread. You don't have to make the whole egg one color. To make the craft more fun, use multi-colored threads. 4. Continue to coat the surface of the egg with glue and wind the threads all the way to the bottom. After this, leave the egg to dry.

You can make many amazing things and crafts with your own hands that will pleasantly surprise your family and friends. Use the tips from our articles and develop your arts and crafts skills.

But making it from threads and glue, in principle, like ordinary slime, as they say, is as easy as shelling pears. We wrap a thread dipped in glue around the ball and leave it to dry. Now let’s illustrate in a video how one pro makes a ball out of thread. You can do this too when you get used to it a little.

Paper vase

The first option is a vase made of paper. For this you will need any glass container. This could be a bottle or a jar. In addition, you will need corrugated multi-colored paper and decoupage glue, which must be diluted in a 1:1 ratio.

First of all, cut the corrugated paper the way you like. These can be squares, rectangles or any arbitrary shape. Glue each piece of paper to the bottle so that the pieces overlap each other, and apply another layer of glue on top of the paper, which will not be noticeable after drying. Is the glue dry? Now coat the product with varnish to secure the result.

This vase is very simple to make, but looks bright and original. If you don't have corrugated paper, then you can use magazine pages instead. It is better to choose the brightest, most colorful pages, which also need to be torn or cut into pieces.
