When I was a child, we made snowflakes out of paper in a completely different way—I personally saw the cutting templates only a couple of years ago. And she looked at them as if spellbound. Well, is it really possible to use such a template to cut out a snowflake from paper so beautifully? Carved edges, the finest curls - and then with ordinary scissors made of thick paper folded in twelve layers?!

Of course, I had good reason to doubt it. It turned out that not every Nice picture capable of becoming an equally beautiful reality. I have no doubt that there are true masters of paper snow lace, but personally I am not able to cut edges less than a centimeter thick - my hand with the scissors slips and I make a fatal cut in the wrong direction. That's it, the snowflake you spent half an hour puffing on is hopelessly ruined. And on New Year's Eve, every minute counts! Here you will find templates for adults with an average level of development fine motor skills. I promise you will enjoy it. I personally cut out each template. So great! If you don't need to explain how to use the templates, skip further explanations and go straight to the section where you can download templates for cutting out snowflakes from paper and print them completely free - in A4 format.

Again, I would like to involve children in the process, who are required to make paper crafts with them. New Year 2017 with your own hands. Snowflakes - why not a craft? Especially if they turn out to be spectacular and neat. Of course, very little toddlers are not able to cope with the template, so for them we fold a piece of paper into six, hand them scissors and, having allowed them to shred the paper to their heart’s content, as God pleases, we sit down to teach the kids to make neat corners, triangles and the like of circles along the edges. Then we set off on a creative flight. But for children 5-6 years old, templates for cutting out snowflakes from paper with thick, one and a half to two centimeter lines are already within their grasp. For the first experiment, we selected the most suitable template. Here the paper is folded into six, so no special effort is required. Plus all the lines are straight - so failures are practically excluded. In about 20 minutes, with the help of a small children’s team, you can make a whole paper “snowdrift”, which is enough to cover the entire apartment with snowflakes, and at the same time the stairwell.

How to make a paper snowflake using a cutting template?

Click on the “Print” link and you will download the template in A4 format (pdf file). Print it on a regular black and white printer. Fold the paper along the dotted lines so that the paper snowflake template design is facing you. Cut out the snowflake along the lines with sharp scissors. That's all you will need to do.

There are a total of 20 templates for cutting out paper snowflakes. I sorted them by degree of difficulty. I determined it empirically. In the process, my scissors became dull - even metal scissors have a hard time cutting through sheets of regular office paper folded 12 times. Some of the snowflake templates are made in such a way that you need to fold the paper 6 times. And cutting them out is much easier. But some thin openwork patterns, of course, need to be made with a large number of folds. And it’s better to try to look for thinner paper. Although if you print templates for snowflakes on a printer, then it may chew on the tracing paper.

Now I will post the templates one by one. From the simplest to the most complex. Choose which ones you like best.

The simplest templates for cutting snowflakes from paper

Simple classic snowflake quite large in size. All cutting lines are straight, there are no broken corners, there are no thin elements, the paper is folded into six, so it is easy to work with scissors. A first grader is quite capable of cutting out such a snowflake.

I cut out this snowflake faster than all the others. Straight short lines, sixfold addition, classic style. A 5-6 year old child can handle it. And most importantly, if you need to quickly decorate a room with paper snowflakes, you can cut about five dozen of them in an hour with two hands.

The simplest template of all offered. Short lines, all cuts are angles or triangles, no parallel lines. You can entrust the cutting to a preschooler.

There is nothing complicated here either, except that you need to carefully use scissors along arcs with pointed ends. You can cut in about a minute.

Templates for snowflakes of medium complexity

A good snowflake template for adults (and also suitable for middle schoolers) who have never made “snow” decor. It does not require any special diligence or a long time, but it turns out to be very impressive in appearance.

A simple and quick template for those who know how to cut wavy lines with scissors. Due to the large central cutout, it does not hold its shape very well on its own.

At first I wanted to include this snowflake in the first section, where the simplest ones are collected, but in practice it turned out that the curly semicircular cutouts in oriental style Requires some skill due to parallel lines.

The technique for carving this snowflake is very similar to the one we were taught in kindergarten. Small cutouts on the sides, larger ones towards the edges. In principle, to create such snowflakes, you don’t even need templates.

This snowflake was invented by some artist and made available for free use by everyone.

Hearts are a fashionable theme for girls 5-6 years old. Adults will have to cut it out - precision is needed in the heart itself to maintain the parallelism of the contours.

The openwork snowflake is still from the section of simple patterns - it all consists of simple contours and corner cuts. It does not wrinkle when cutting, you can handle it even with not very sharp scissors. It takes about two minutes. A great option if you want something beautiful, but don’t want to put in the effort.

The only difficulty here is cutting out thin brackets in the center of each face. Some precision and care is required. You need to fold the snowflake blank as accurately as possible so that they all turn out approximately the same in appearance.

Here, fairly thin strips of paper remain, so if you start cutting it out, for example, from the bottom, the petals will move apart. So start at the top, then work your way down, cutting out both the inner patterns and the sides of the edges, and cut the center at the very end. It looks quite unusual.

This snowflake seems very simple, but in reality there are certain difficulties with cutting out the tiny stripes. They cut well lengthwise, but diligence is required to carefully trim the short perpendiculars. The paper gets stuck, sometimes you have to spread out the snowflake to trim the places where it doesn’t want to come off.

This snowflake is more difficult than the previous one, because you need good vision and Strong arms to cut thin cascades in paper folded 12 times.

Templates for cutting out openwork snowflakes (complex, but doable)

If you want to decorate your home with highly artistic paper snowflakes, but have never tried cutting them out, then this option with butterflies is the most suitable for your first experience. I got it right the first time. And although some details below are slightly asymmetrical, the complex pattern distracts attention from the imperfection of execution.

Current snow pattern with small Christmas trees. I fiddled with her for about five minutes. Be sure to fold as accurately as possible, starting to cut from the top edges and working your way down. Not the most convenient template, but quite capable of handling it.

This snowflake unexpectedly turned out to be one of the most difficult. The thin edges tried to open up, we had to put them together, and in the end the center didn’t work out. I didn't strive for perfection. I think it will be more interesting to see what can happen the first time.

Well, here is the most complex template from our collection. I think everything immediately becomes clear just by appearance. Regular scissors I couldn’t cope with it - I cut out what you see in the photo with very sharp metal scissors. But it turned out beautifully, I have no doubt. Small errors do not spoil openwork pattern. It's a bit difficult to straighten it out. And then it is advisable to put it under a press or in a book so that the tendrils and curls do not stick out in different directions.

To begin, show the children how to fold paper for a snowflake: a sheet of paper is gradually folded in one direction or the other.

The resulting accordion must be painted with patterns using a simple pencil. We recommend using ready-made diagrams, To obtain exquisite decoration for home.

When the drawing is ready, start cutting out snowflakes with your children. Make sure that the paper folds remain intact, otherwise the snowflake will fall apart if you unfold it. This method is suitable for creating large decorations and for making small parts for decorating a New Year tree.

Repeat the procedure again to obtain a second identical element - and make small slits to the middle of each snowflake (at the top and bottom so that the heart can be “closed”). So you have done it step by step, easy and very beautiful snowflakes from paper according to the cutting pattern: all that remains is to add decorative elements and sew a loop to the decoration.

Now you need to correctly fold the source material in order to apply the selected templates for cutting snowflakes from paper according to the diagrams. Take a sheet and bring one side edge up. Fold this part and get rid of the protruding remainder of the sheet: you should end up with a folded isosceles triangle.

Fold the shape in half again and use a pencil to make notes on paper, highlighting a 30-degree angle.

Along the drawn line you need to bend one corner. Next, the stencil is turned over - and the second corner is knocked down.

The last stage is bending the figure in half. Now all that remains is to round the corners (if necessary), transfer the pattern, cut out all the excess - and unfold the paper sheet. The six-pointed snowflake is ready!

Start preparing your apartment or house for the celebration: making New Year's wreaths, paper crafts with the children winter theme, look at the decor information and stick lacy snowflakes on the windows.

There are craftsmen who have just folded a piece of paper and already see or draw an ornament on it, along the contour of which they will cut out the product. I think that this requires a lot of imagination. We will do it simpler and take the templates and diagrams that I will show in this article as the basis for snowflakes.

Simple and beautiful paper snowflakes with diagrams

There are very difficult options for cutting, I didn’t even consider them, because a sheet folded in four or five times is simply impossible to cut out. Therefore, let's take simpler schemes.

Of course, you can take these as a base, and use not only paper, but also plywood, felt or cardboard. But it’s easier for your child to cut out such an ornament from a landscape sheet or sheets for a photocopier.

In the diagrams, the white part is cut off.

The paper is folded three times, then 6 corners are obtained.

For those who transfer the pattern by hand, there is a whole selection of all kinds of designs.

    Or these are the options.

You can experiment and take something that is not familiar to everyone White color, and buy blue, light blue, red and yellow shades.

And craftsmen glue such beauty not only to windows or walls, but also create a real decorative element using beautiful ribbons and a photo frame, as in the photo below.

    Interesting idea, right?

Schemes for cutting snowflakes from paper

If you want to get a better look at the diagram, you can zoom in on it on the monitor and only then circle it.

I have long noticed that a snowflake looks more beautiful if its tip is cut off a little. Can be in the shape of a heart, circle, diamond or triangle.

If you cut the center at an angle, you will get a star in the middle.

    Or like here.

Curls add delicacy to the finished version.

Use animal shapes, such as cats.

Or the shape of stars, Christmas trees.

    Very simple circuit for cutting.

Even a small child can cut this pattern.

Petals and rounded shapes will make the snowflake more rounded and full.

It is better to take a larger sheet of paper, then the lines will be thicker and the pattern will look better.

Use well-known openwork shapes: heart, rhombus, curl.

Templates for cutting out paper snowflakes for windows that can be printed

Here are a couple of interesting templates that are easy to print. Cut along the outline and attach to a folded sheet of paper to trace.

Most often, a sheet of paper is folded three or four times. And the more folding, the more openwork and fluffier the snowflake turns out, but it also becomes more difficult to cut.

This is where the gray part is cut out.

My child and I glue paper figures and winter toothpaste applications to the windows. It sticks well and washes off quickly.

Interesting options with silhouettes of Olaf the snowman from the cartoon and deer.

    Another selection of beautiful patterns.

To cut out small parts, use a utility knife or blade.

    Sharp corners look very beautiful.

You can make a completely round snowflake.

You will want to take a closer look at the snowflake with silhouettes of butterflies and flowers.

Don’t even think about gluing them with PVA glue! It is very difficult to wash it off the glass; sometimes you even have to scrape it off the glass, which leaves scratches on it. A couple of my friends thought of doing this. They had to worry about washing away the consequences in the spring.

Or you can use self-adhesive colored paper as a base; it is sold in many stationery stores. It is quite dense and comes off the surface easily.

    Paper snowflakes: cutting templates

I really like it when, while walking in the yard on a winter evening, you see interesting combinations of snowflakes and figures on your neighbors’ windows New Year's characters. Created festive mood and the desire to invent something and make things with your own hands. And not just buy something ready-made in the store. Still, in creativity we realize ourselves.

And how happy the children are! Our process was structured like this: I fold a sheet of paper and draw a pattern on it, the child cuts it out and together with dad or grandmother they go to glue it on the window. Adults control the composition on the window and the consumption of toothpaste, and the child is completely responsible for the gluing process. In general, everyone is involved, everyone is also in the mood.

You can use all these patterns for decorating and gift wrapping.

To create a harmonious composition on the window, it is better to glue the largest snowflakes on top along the perimeter of the upper sash, and reduce the diameter of the decor towards the bottom, this will turn out interesting and tasteful.

Alternatively, you can glue them along the entire perimeter of the window without touching its middle. This design is often used on scarves. It turns out like a wreath, only there are large snowflakes at the edges, and towards the center they become smaller.
