For children younger age These are, as a rule, riddles - pictures or schematic drawings. Let the child think about the answers, reflect, and look for solutions. Talk about the chosen option and why this particular answer. Invite your child to come up with such a riddle himself.

Sometimes it’s useful to supplement riddles with answers and think about them together. This gives the child models of building logical chains and expands his understanding of possible points of view.

Next stage

At 6-7 years old, children's minds are ready to perceive verbal logical riddles. Children especially appreciate riddles in poetic form, riddles for which the answers are words in rhyme. Try to diversify the topic so that the baby is surprised every time and his interest does not fade away.

Entertaining tasks for children and their parents

This material may be of interest to educators of preparatory groups, teachers primary school, parents who are engaged in the formation of non-standard thinking in children. Problems available for older children preschool age, are interesting for schoolchildren and even adults.
Pochaeva Tatyana Anatolyevna, teacher-psychologist MBDOU " Kindergarten No. 2" Konakovo

Target: development of the child's abilities
Tasks:
- to interest the child in solving non-standard problems;
- develop imaginative and logical thinking;
- offer material for spending leisure time in the family.

Working with children, I always tried to develop creative, out-of-the-box thinking in them. Problems that require the ability to add or subtract numbers or count to one hundred are well suited for this purpose. Finding such tricky puzzles is half the battle; arousing children’s interest in solving them is a more difficult matter. It’s difficult because the classes are very strictly time regulated; they are not designed to solve non-standard problems. I still manage to do something, but I always want more.

Last academic year parent meeting V preparatory group I suggested an option: at the end of the week, each child will receive an envelope with a task. This problem must be solved within a week and the answer sent to me in an envelope. This is a voluntary matter, if you want to participate, if you don’t want to, it’s your choice. Of course, everyone wanted to, but after two months there were fewer people willing, because often the parents (!) themselves did not understand how to solve this or that problem. And it's very sad. Only one girl reached the finish line, which was quite predictable.

So, the simplest problem that I offered to children in class was: “How to divide 3 apples lying in a basket between three girls so that each girl gets 1 apple, and one apple remains in the basket?” The children immediately begin to offer to cut 2 apples, but this does not correspond to the conditions of the task, which states that each girl should receive a whole apple. Then I pick up a basket with 3 apples and ask one of the children to fulfill the condition of the task - divide the apples. At this moment, insight occurs - we take one apple along with the basket!

1. Misha returned from fishing happy.
- How many fish did you catch? – his comrades asked.
- I will not say. But he ate both of them himself.
How many fish did Misha catch?
This is a very easy task, but when a child does not hear the usual numbers, he at first does not understand how to solve it.

2. Marina had 7 sweets. She gave 2 candies to her sister Katya, who also had candies. After this, the sisters had the same amount of candy. Think about how many sweets Katya had at first?
This is also one of the simpler problems, but in class 2-3 people can solve it right away, the rest do not have time to figure it out on their own.

3. How many squares do you need to take to cover a cube, gluing 1 square on each side?

4. 3 people waited for the train for 3 hours. How long did everyone wait?

5. Three fishermen eat three fish in three days. How many days will it take five fishermen to eat five fish?
Solution: If 3 fishermen eat 3 fish in 3 days, then 1 fisherman eats 1 fish in 3 days. Therefore, 5 fishermen will eat 5 fish in the same 3 days, and not in 5, as both children and adults often answer.

6. 2 hens laid 2 eggs in 2 days. How many eggs will 4 hens lay in 4 days?
Solution: 2 hens lay 2 eggs in 2 days, therefore 1 hen can lay 1 egg in 2 days. In 4 days, 1 chicken will lay 2 eggs, and 4 chickens will lay 8 eggs in 4 days.
Answer: 8 eggs.

7. One Winnie the Pooh eats 1 jar of honey in 1 hour. How many Winnie the Poohs can eat 5 jars of honey in 5 hours?
Solution: in 1 hour Vini eats 1 jar of honey, therefore in 2 hours he will eat 2 jars, in 3 - 3 jars, etc.
Answer: one Winnie the Pooh will eat 5 jars of honey in 5 hours.

8. Vanya lives in a 12-story building, on the 9th floor, if you count from above. What floor does Vanya live on?
Solution: If you ask a preschooler to solve this problem, it is best to ask him to draw a 12-story building and count the floors in reverse order. If the child is already in school, he can solve the problem in his head without relying on a drawing. It turns out that if you count from bottom to top, after the 9th floor there will be three more floors left: the tenth, eleventh, twelfth. If we count from top to bottom, then after the ninth floor, on which Vanya lives, there will still be three more left: the third, the second, the first. Therefore, Vanya lives on the 4th floor.

9. Forgetful and Confused bought several pairs of boots in a shoe store, and total number boots turned out to be a single digit number. When the gnomes returned home, Confusion began to divide the purchases. He did it so cunningly that at the end of the division he had 8 more boots than his friend. How many boots did the surprised Forgotten get?

Solution: To solve this problem, the child must know what the words “pair” and “single-digit number” mean. The dwarves could not buy 10 boots, because the number 10 is a two-digit number. They couldn't buy 9 boots because shoes are always sold in pairs. If they bought 8 boots, then all these boots went to Confusion, and Forgotten got nothing.

10. The pig weighs 2 kg and another half a pig. How much does a pig weigh?
Solution: The pig weighs 2 kg and another half a pig. We understand that the weight of two halves is equal to the weight of the pig; if one half weighs 2 kg, then the whole pig weighs 4 kg.

11. The elevator rises to the third floor in 6 seconds. How many seconds will it take him to reach the fifth floor?
Solution: in 6 seconds the elevator covers two flights - from the first to the second floor and from the second to the third. Therefore, the elevator travels one flight in 3 seconds. To get to the fifth floor, you need to drive 4 flights. This will take 12 seconds.

The peasant needs to transport a wolf, a goat and a cabbage across the river. But the boat is such that only a peasant can fit in it, and with him either one wolf, or one goat, or one cabbage. But if you leave a wolf with a goat, then the wolf will eat the goat, and if you leave a goat with cabbage, then the goat will eat the cabbage. How did the peasant transport his cargo?
Solution 1.: It is clear that we have to start with a goat. The peasant, having transported the goat, returns and takes the wolf, which he transports to the other bank, where he leaves it, but he also takes the goat and takes it back to the first bank. Here he leaves her and transports the cabbage to the wolf. Then, returning, he transports the goat, and the crossing ends safely.
Solution 2: First, the peasant again transports the goat. But the second one can take the cabbage, take it to the other bank, leave it there and return the goat to the first bank. Then transport the wolf to the other side, return for the goat and again take her to the other side.

Why are logic and thinking games so important for children 9-10 years old? This is due to the peculiarities of the development of thinking in younger schoolchildren. It is at the age of 9-10 years that a qualitative change occurs in the child’s mental activity.

Visual-figurative thinking, which was the main focus of the entire previous period in children, is finally replaced by conceptual, verbal and logical thinking. Now a 9-10 year old schoolchild can already assimilate knowledge, relying not only on what he sees and feels, but also masters abstract concepts, identifying the internal connections of objects.

How quickly and completely the formation of this way of understanding the world occurs depends on how successfully your child will study in the future. If by this point children have not developed full-fledged mental activity, they will not be able to fully master school items and the gap in mathematics and other sciences will only accumulate.

What should parents do to help their child at this important stage? You need to play with him! Play educational games with children yourself and encourage them to independently master logic and thinking games. It trains the growing brain the same way sports trains muscles.
