Theory. sun protection for hair

A couple of years ago I went to the sea with blonde curls. Just ten days later she returned with “straw” on her head. I'm not exaggerating at all! When I combed my hair, my hair fell off like autumn leaves. There were two reasons for this: firstly, I bleached my hair before going to sea, and secondly, during my vacation I did not protect my hair from exposure to the sun and sea salt. It took me exactly the next two years to restore my hair. Experience, the son of difficult mistakes, suggests that it is better to spend money on good cosmetics before your vacation, rather than cry over scorched tow - after. This is especially true for those who dye their hair.

Some simple tips on hair care on vacation from hairdressers and the five best, according to Cosmopolitan magazine (and in my opinion, also quite good - I tried some of them myself) cosmetic lines according to summer care for hair - in this post.

To begin with, a few pseudo-scientific horror stories. Yesterday I visited the hairdresser, she told me how hair, the sun and salty sea water interact approximately, so that it would be clear what you need to protect yourself from.

Ultraviolet rays dehydrate hair and gradually destroy both natural and artificial pigments. As a result undyed hair fade, and painted ones lose their brightness, become dry and dull. Hair is approximately 70% keratin, which is based on protein enriched with sulfur, iron, chromium, copper, zinc, and manganese. In addition, hair contains vitamins A, B, PP, C, H, lipids, pigment and water. The sun's rays “stretch out” all this, as a result of which the hair loses both flexibility and volume. Salt water washes proteins out of your hair, but that's not the worst thing. Sea salt settles under the scales, dries out in the sun, and salt crystals begin to scratch and destroy the hair shaft. This is why sea-dried hair splits and falls off. In addition, in the summer you have to wash your hair more often, and this is an additional factor that deprives the hair of its elasticity. This is the kind of attack our curls have to withstand!

To help your hair at sea:

1. Do not dye your hair before traveling to the south. Any coloring, even with the most gentle means, is stressful for the hair. Coloring plus sun is a double whammy. It is better to do a salon oil wrap. Last year, before going to the seaside, I did lamination. This is a controversial procedure, it is not suitable for many, but lamination personally saved my hair then.

2. Be sure to use special moisturizing shampoos (or better yet, care series, about them below) with nutrients that bind moisture and prevent hair from drying out. It’s good if the composition contains keratin and oils.

3. Try not to dry your hair with a hairdryer or use styling products, do not comb wet hair, use conditioner and oil for the ends of your hair.

4. Before entering the sea or pool, tie your hair up. tight bun and wet them with fresh running water. It will fill the cuticle and make the hair more resistant to salt. After each bath, be sure to rinse your hair in running water and do not let the salt on your hair dry in the sun.

5. Use a spray with UV protection, or cover your head with a hat/scarf.

And now five cosmetic “solar” series, which are recommended by overseas experts. I repeat, I tried some of this. If you have your own observations, please share! Sometimes friendly advice helps a lot in such matters!

What to put in your suitcase to keep your hair from falling out at sea?

Moroccanoil

The brand produces, in my opinion, simply the Queen of Masks. Expensive, but your hair instantly comes to life.

Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine spray contains argan oil, vitamins A, F, E, and a sunscreen is also present. This cosmetics instantly nourishes and smoothes hair without weighing it down.

I use oil for the ends of my hair all the time, regardless of the time of year. I tried the shampoo. I personally liked it, but it seemed a little expensive. Recently I found a more affordable and, in my opinion, no less effective alternative - moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with macadamia nut oil from the company Aussie.

By the way, Moroccanoil produces travel kits for the price of two products.

Convenient for vacation.

Biolage Sunsorials from MATRIX

Some hairdressing salons operate on Matrix. Personally, I haven’t tested this cosmetics anywhere except in a hairdresser, but they write that the “solar” series smoothes and nourishes hair well. The basis of the technology is sunflower seed extract, vitamin E and ceramides. The series includes shampoo, mask and protective spray.

Wella Professionals Sun

The Sun line is five products for hair care before, during and after sun exposure. The advantage of the line is that there is a protective spray for fine and normal hair and a cream for coarse hair. I used the spray, my hair becomes very soft after it, the aroma is pleasant. There is also a universal moisturizing cream for hair and skin in the series, I didn’t dare buy it, but they write that you shouldn’t be afraid of this versatility.

SOLAR SUBLIME from L’Oreal Professionnel

They write that the distinctive feature of this series is the professional (that is, optimal) concentration of a protective filter, which protects the hair structure from the aggressive effects of the sun, salt water and wind. There are two types of after-sun shampoos: for normal and colored hair. An excellent hairdresser once told me that if you are in doubt about whether to buy shampoo for colored hair or regular shampoo, choose one for colored hair, because it moisturizes as much as possible. So we take it for painted ones, the main thing is that it does not weigh it down. The series includes sun protection milk specifically for those with unruly hair.

Kerastase Soleil

This line is especially famous for its spray oil (pictured on the right), which protects hair from fading. The trick of this spray is that it moisturizes, protects and at the same time adds shine to your hair. If you spray it on your hand, you will see small golden particles that probably reflect the sun's rays. Hair looks very well-groomed after it.

How do you take care of your hair in summer? Maybe you know some good ones folk remedies to restore elasticity and shine?

Below are the best products for protecting hair from the sun, according to our beauty editor. Let's see!

Best sunscreen shampoo

Shampoo "Moisturizing and Nourishing" with UV filter, Curex Sunflower, Estel Professional

The shampoo very carefully (not to the point of squeaking) cleanses the scalp, does not tangle the hair and smoothes out “frizz.” The complex of nutrients moisturizes and restores sun-dried hair, and the sun protection factor in the composition protects hair from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation. A nice bonus: the shampoo adds shine to your hair, making it shimmer beautifully in the sun.

This sunscreen hair spray will be a lifesaver in the summer. To protect your hair from the sun at sea and in the city, use the spray before each exit to direct sunlight. Sunscreen microveil, Micro Voile Protecteur, Kerastase

Sunscreen hair oil from the Spanish brand Kerastase is loved all over the world! It perfectly protects hair from the sun (even at sea), and its complex active ingredients and sun filters simultaneously cares for and. And we also love this oil because it prevents hair (both dyed and natural) from fading in the sun and helps maintain its bright and rich color.

Before the trip

You should start preparing before you even start packing your suitcase. Here are a few simple rules:
1. Perm should be done in a salon at least 3 weeks before the start of the trip.
2. Any type of hair coloring must be done at least 2 weeks in advance. Although it is best to avoid this procedure altogether. Coloring is a serious test for hair and you should not subject it to unnecessary stress.
3. A week before departure, go to the hairdresser. Have him trim off any split ends of the hair. Great idea- shorten your haircut, this will make caring for your hair much easier.

What damaging factors threaten your hair during the holidays?

There are three of them: ultraviolet radiation from the sun, hot and strong wind, and exposure to salty sea or chlorinated pool water. Unfortunately, all these factors will act on you at the same time, reinforcing the negative effects of each other. Let's look at them one by one and tell you about effective hair protection from the sun, sea water and wind.

  • Ultraviolet

Ultraviolet radiation from the sun is divided into three types depending on the wavelength: UVA, UV B. and UVС. UVC waves are very strongly scattered in the Earth's atmosphere, and therefore their impact is minimal and can be neglected. But UVA and UV B radiation reaches our hair almost unchanged. Their damaging effect is also different: UVA waves intensively dry hair, and UV B waves destroy pigment, leading to loss of natural color.

But protecting your skin and hair from harmful ultraviolet rays is quite easy. Any hat or scarf from light fabric. Or, if you don’t want to use unnecessary wardrobe items, you will have to use special sunscreens, which we will talk about in more detail below. The main thing to remember here is that you need to apply SPF filters at least half an hour before leaving the house, and not while sitting on the beach.

  • Hot and strong wind

Hot air draws moisture out of your hair quite quickly. And fast gusts of wind can easily tangle your hair, which can lead to breakage and split ends. But this problem is typical mainly for long hair and you can deal with it by simply collecting them in a ponytail or, better yet, in a braid. A tangled hair You will need to carefully comb it with a wide-tooth comb, using a conditioner spray first.

  • Sea or chlorinated water

The main danger here is sea salt or chlorine contained in pool water. They very quickly wash dyes out of the hair and dehydrate it due to their hygroscopicity. In order to cope with this danger, it is enough to thoroughly rinse your hair with clean, fresh water at least once a day.

What to take with you and how to protect your hair from the sun at sea?

Firstly, your indispensable companion should be a headdress. A Panama hat made of natural light fabric or even a straw hat will provide your head with excellent protection from both ultraviolet radiation and heat stroke. Secondly, you will need a set of products that will provide your hair with sufficient care when traveling to southern latitudes. This care consists of three stages:

  • Cleaning: Shampoo

Contrary to popular belief, SPF protection for shampoo is not very important. Even if it contains substances that work as UV filters, after you wash your hair, there will be practically none left on your hair. The main tasks when using shampoo are moisturizing and cleansing. Therefore, you will need at least two different bottles of this cosmetic product. They should be used in a two to one ratio: wash your hair twice with a moisturizing shampoo, once with a cleansing shampoo.

  • Recovery: conditioner or mask

This is the main weapon to combat the negative effects of sea salt. Drying on the hair, salt causes the cuticle scales to rise and gradually penetrates into the hair shaft, where it begins to destroy its amino acid base. Using conditioners or conditioning masks after shampooing will help smooth the cuticles and protect your hair from damaging chemicals.

  • Protection: SPF filters

But these care products are precisely what protect hair from the sun directly, blocking its ultraviolet radiation. They work by enveloping each hair, enclosing it in a kind of protective shell, which, due to its physical and chemical characteristics, does not transmit ultraviolet radiation

The form of release of such cosmetic products can be very different - oils, creams, sprays, mousses, etc. Which option to choose is not so important, except for the owners fine hair It is better to avoid using oils. But what will be truly useful is that this product, in addition to the ultraviolet filter, contains some caring, nourishing or moisturizing components. In this case, you will simultaneously receive protection from solar radiation and support for healthy hair.

Very good choice will become products that do not require rinsing. They can be applied to the hair once and left until next wash heads. And all this time they will perform their protective functions well. Moreover, many manufacturers produce specialized lines of leave-in products for hot summer time. The compositions in these cosmetics are usually selected in such a way as to make their daily use possible and safe.

Types UV filters

All types of hair protection from ultraviolet radiation from the sun can be divided into three large groups - chemical, natural and physical.

Chemical filters

This is a fairly large group of substances obtained synthetically. These include, in particular:

  • avobenzone;
  • Mexoril;
  • tinosorb;
  • octisalicylate;
  • octocrylene;
  • cinnamates and a number of other compounds.

A feature of such products is their very high reliability and consistently maximum (SPF 50) degree of protection against UV radiation. Moreover, chemical filters can block both the UVA and UVB spectrum, and some can block both at once, being universal. Plus, such substances are water-resistant, have no color or odor and do not leave marks on the hair and skin.

However, cosmetologists do not recommend using products with chemical filters. Why? Because with all their undoubted advantages, they have a very significant disadvantage - after about two hours of exposure to the sun, these compounds begin to change their properties and work as oxidizing agents, destroying the protein base of the hair.

Natural filters

Various oils can be used as such agents. In fact, this is the answer to the frequently asked question: how can you effectively and cheaply protect your hair from the sun at home? This effect has:

  • jojoba oil (SPF 4);
  • shea butter (SPF 2-5);
  • sesame oil (SPF 5);
  • almond oil (SPF 5);
  • macadamia oil (SPF 6);
  • coconut and olive oil(SPF 2-8);
  • avocado oil (SPF 4-15);
  • wheat germ oil (SPF 20);
  • carrot seed oil (SPF 38-40);
  • raspberry seed oil (SPF 28-50).

It would seem, why buy then? professional products, and not use, say, almond oil to protect your hair from the sun? The answer is simple: natural UV filters have quite a large number of limitations and application features:
1. They are not suitable for thin hair, as we already discussed above.
2. Vegetable oils disintegrate very quickly, and therefore will provide you with protection for no more than one hour, and then it will need to be renewed.
3. The oil film has a certain refractive effect, which “attracts” the sun’s rays to the hair. That is, with a minimal decrease in the intensity of protection, the oil begins to work “against” your hair, increasing its fading.

Physical filters

These are primarily titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Here the sun protection effect is based solely on the optical properties of these substances, which can reflect ultraviolet radiation. Their SPF indicator ranges from 10 to 30. The advantages of such products:

  • maximum safety - they are non-toxic and do not interact in any way with the hair or scalp;
  • versatility - reflect both UVA and UVB spectrum;
  • photostability - do not change their properties and structure under the influence of sunlight;
  • effectiveness even at low concentrations;
  • low cost.

Physical filters also have a number of disadvantages:

  • instability to mechanical influences - such a reflective film can be easily erased from the hair;
  • instability to water - these products are washed off after washing your hair and must be reapplied;
  • Mattifying your hair is a purely cosmetic effect, which, however, can affect your look.

How to use hair protection products correctly?

Hair care on vacation should consist of several stages:
1. Wet your hair with warm water, take a small amount of shampoo and massage the roots and scalp until foaming. Then distribute this foam throughout your hair and rinse it.
2. Then use conditioner on a clean head using the same massaging movements. Next, you need to pause for 5-7 minutes so that the nutrients have time to exert their restorative effect. After this, rinse your hair again with warm water.
3. Finally, apply sunscreen to dry hair and leave it there until the next time you wash your hair.

Can it be used as UV filter something also, if specialized tools are not available?

Will coloring, tonic, silicone, chamomile, other substances, procedures or herbs protect your hair from the sun? No, they won't protect you. All these agents do not have the ability to prevent the spread of ultraviolet rays. Exactly the same answer will be given to the question of whether thermal protection, which is used for hot styling methods, is suitable for protecting hair in the sun. Its task is to prevent the damaging effects of high temperatures on hair. And on the beach, the main danger is not heat, but ultraviolet radiation. Thermal protection is simply not designed to block solar radiation.

Is there any alternative to specialized SPF cosmetics? Yes, as we have already said, you can use any vegetable oil, but its protective effect will not last long. In addition, solar filters applied to the skin will provide temporary hair protection. But it is better to use them for a short time, only as an “emergency option”.

How can you further help your hair when traveling to the sea?

  • If you want to lift your hair, it is better to collect it closer to the neck, rather than to the top. This will help protect your ends from unnecessary damage from the sun's rays.
  • When making such a ponytail, choose the softest, thickest and wide elastic bands. Unlike tighter and thinner ones, they have minimal traumatic effects on the hair. A good option It will also be possible to use a hairpin, better than a wooden one.
  • At the same time, we must remember that twisting hair into a “bundle” is, of course, very convenient, but keeping it in this state for a long time will not bring anything good. Especially if you twisted your hair while it was still wet. High humidity makes hair fragile and especially susceptible to any mechanical damage.
  • If there is no shower on the beach, take 2-3 liters of fresh water with you and use it to periodically wash off the salt from your hair.
  • Do not use high temperature styling tools. Give your hair a break from curling irons or flat irons. Moreover, appearance The hairstyle that such styling can provide you will still not last too long. There is always high humidity on the sea coast, which means that the effect of all your efforts to curl or, conversely, straighten your hair will soon be destroyed.
  • If you still can’t imagine an evening at a resort without strictly styling your hair, you will need special products. Is not regular varnishes for fixing hair, and cosmetics bearing the Apres Beach mark. This marking means that this treatment is specially adapted to conditions of high humidity and with it the hair has every chance of not becoming disheveled until late at night.
  • Use your comb more often. The best option- a brush with natural bristles or a comb made of wood or bone with rare and large teeth.

How to maintain your hair after returning home from vacation?

Even if you took the time to buy all the sun protection products you need and neglected to use them, you probably won't be able to completely avoid damage. Alas, but the intensity summer sun in southern latitudes is so high that no SPF filter will be ideal, and salt water and hot wind will make your hair drier, despite any moisturizing treatments. Therefore, in order to quickly return their condition to normal, you will need to carry out a number of restoration measures:

  • During the first week after vacation, wash your hair at least a couple of times with a mild cleansing shampoo.
  • Pay special attention to moisturizing - it will help get rid of flaking scalp, which is often the result of combined exposure to sun, sand and wind.
  • Visit your hairdresser, let him, as before the trip, get rid of split ends and dry ends of your hair.
  • Try to wash your hair for some time after traveling not with ordinary clean water, but with decoctions medicinal herbs. Pharmaceutical chamomile, stinging nettle, dried linden flowers, burdock root or string are perfect as herbal medicines.
  • Very useful during this period nourishing masks. They are easy to make at home. To do this, you will need to take 2 egg yolks and add juice squeezed from half a medium-sized lemon. Stir the resulting mixture and pour 10 drops of any vegetable oil(preferably burdock or almond). Apply this mask to a washed head, spreading throughout the hair. Cover them with cling film and top terry towel and hold for 15-20 minutes. After this, rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water and comb it carefully.

During the hot season, many people use sunscreen; they reliably protect the skin from the negative and harmful effects of bright ultraviolet rays. But for some reason, almost all of us forget that hair also needs additional protection. summer season. Summer, so pleasant and alluring, is the main enemy of the beauty and health of hair, because the sun's rays, air conditioners and fans in rooms, salty sea water, increased dustiness in the air - all this causes significant harm not only to the external condition of the curls, but also to their internal structure. To take maximum care of the beauty and health of your curls, it is important to use sun protection products for your hair during the summer.

The sun is the main “enemy” of hair beauty

Ultraviolet rays cause enormous damage to strands of any type.

  • Alpha rays, which are part of the ultraviolet light, instantly dehydrate the hairs.
  • Beta rays, which are also found in sunlight, negatively affect the color of strands, destroying the pigment of both natural and dyed hair. If you do not take care of your hair and stay in the sun for a long time without the protection of certain products, then the strands become dull, thin, brittle, lifeless, begin to split and fall out.
  • In addition, ultraviolet light helps to “pull out” nutritional and fortified components, water and lipids, from the hair structure. The result of this action is thin and bulky curls, lacking flexibility and elasticity.
  • Another negative factor, which is observed more often in the summer, is frequent hair washing, which contributes to dry strands.

But the bright sun poses a great danger to colored hair, since ultraviolet radiation actively neutralizes chemical dyes, which leads to the appearance of hair of a completely unusual color shade on the head. In addition, frequent and prolonged exposure to the sun causes colored hair to begin to fall out, and then signs of early baldness appear on the head.

What is hair care in the summer?

Since in summer curls are exposed to the negative effects of several natural factors at once, protection for strands must be comprehensive. To ensure the most effective protection of your hair from sun rays, you must adhere to the following basics:

  • In the period from 11.00 to 16.00 hours of the day, being on the street under the scorching rays bright sunshine, it is important to always wear a hat. In the summer, it is advisable to always have a light scarf or hat with you so that you can put them on immediately if necessary.
  • After swimming in the sea, in a river, pond or any other natural body of water, it is important to rinse your hair with clean water. A herbal decoction based on plants such as chamomile, nettle, calendula, St. John's wort, etc. can replace water.
  • If you are planning a trip to southern resort towns, then you need to avoid dyeing, highlighting or perm strands. Specified cosmetic procedures can be done approximately 2 weeks before your planned trip.

  • During the hot season, it is important to reduce the use of thermal tongs, hair straighteners, and hair dryers to a minimum.
  • Before swimming in salty sea water, curls need to be treated with nourishing and protective essential oils.
  • Before visiting the beach or just going outside under the scorching rays of the sun, your curls must be treated with a protective spray or shampoo/gel/balm.
  • To stimulate the release of protective lipids on the scalp, it is recommended to regularly comb your hair with massage combs made from natural materials.
  • It is highly undesirable to lighten strands with any types of lightening agents throughout the summer.
  • While the weather is hot and sunny outside, it is recommended to avoid using styling products such as foam, gel, varnish, and mousse. You can replace these styling products with special hair-fixing sprays, which contain substances that protect against UV rays.

  • To wash your hair throughout the summer, you can only use soft, moderately warm water. You can soften it by simply boiling it or adding lemon juice.
  • Dyed strands require maximum care; they must be regularly treated with color-fixing shampoos or tonics.
  • To fully protect your hair from negative and harmful sunlight, hair care must be comprehensive.

Spray Mister Fantastic, Evo

Tested by BeautyHack editor-in-chief Karina Andreeva

The Australian brand's spray is considered a universal styling product and is suitable for all hair types, but it is especially recommended for thin hair. I liked the fact that it actually serves multiple functions. Firstly, it works as thermal protection. Secondly, it thickens the hair along its entire length. Thirdly, it fixes well and prevents frizz. I spray along the entire length wet hair and proceed to the express styling “comb-spray-dryer”. The product does not stick your hair together and has a neutral smell (opponents of fragrances, take note). Contains no sulfates or parabens. Now I use it every day before styling!

Sun Care Hair And Body Cleanser, Aveda

Tested BeautyHack editor Daria Sizova

On vacation, I turn from a beauty-aholic into a beauty-lazy person, so I try to minimize the steps and the amount of skin, body and hair care products. My last ones are very dry, thin and brittle. For them, direct sunlight is a disaster. The sea is especially not kind to my hair - the salt turns my strands from a “surfer’s girlfriend” hairstyle into tangled, dry tangles. Here you need a reliable assistant - and he was found among the products of hairdresser Horst Rechelbacher, who mixed the first shampoo in the sink in his own kitchen. Over the 40 years of its existence, the Aveda brand has made significant strides forward - products in simple packaging, with a pleasant aroma and natural ingredients loved by stars, bloggers and beautyholics all over the world.

I am no exception, and the styling spray, thanks to which it does not fall apart firmly after 40 minutes, has taken up residence on the shelf in the bathroom (you can read more about the product and look at the curls that you get if you style it with it.

And I fell in love with the shampoo from the first use - a pleasant substance of “sunny” color with a non-sticky consistency that perfectly removes the remains of bleach and salt from the hair, nourishing and moisturizing the scalp. I used it every day on vacation. The condition of the hair did not worsen: on the contrary, it became more manageable and soft. The product also perfectly preserves hair color (relevant for ladies who, like Katy Perry, changed their image for the summer, see).

The composition is also pleasing - essential oils of neroli, ylang-ylang and wild cistus not only create an invisible protective barrier, as if enveloping a curl, but also give your hair a pleasant citrus aroma (which will stay with you all day).

Protecting your hair from the sun may seem like a completely unnecessary step in your summer beauty routine. I also neglected it until a few years ago when I experienced hair loss. At an appointment with a trichologist, I learned that hair follicles - not the most nimble parts of our body - begin to react to stress, damage, etc. aggressive influences only in three months. Having frantically counted down the time, I realized that it was the top of my head, burnt under the Portuguese sun, that influenced the excess hair loss.

Now I don’t repeat my mistakes: I apply sun protection not only on vacation, but also in the city. Moreover, Aveda Sun Care spray is very easy to use - it resembles a light hair oil and forms a protective film that neutralizes the effects of ultraviolet radiation. Those with thin hair need not worry: the product will not weigh down your hair, but will add a healthy shine to it. The brand, as always, is true to its principles, so the ingredients are all natural - even the UV filters are made from cinnamon and wintergreen, and shea butter and vitamin E will additionally care for the hair. Still, I don’t recommend relaxing: renew the spray after each swim and throughout the day, and it’s better to trust protection from scorching rays with a wide-brimmed hat.

Protective micro-veil Micro-Voile Protecteur, Kérastase

Tested by BeautyHack SMM manager Alexandra Grishina

Spray from the Soleil line is designed to protect hair from the adverse effects of sunlight and enhance shine. The complex of active ingredients perfectly moisturizes and restores hair after long exposure to the sun. They will remain healthy, elastic and soft.

The product is absolutely weightless - a real veil! It does not weigh down, gives instant shine and at the same time fulfills its main function - protects from the mercilessly scorching sun. Most of my vacation was spent in Europe, and it was not particularly pleasant and favorable with its weather conditions: +29/33 degrees, humidity and scorching sun, from which you cannot hide even in the shade.

I applied the spray every day 20-30 minutes before going out. I give non-greasy a special plus for the lack of a “dirty head” effect. Spray the product from roots to ends on dry or loose hair (the first option is closer to me), but I still advise you to retreat 3-5 cm from the roots. After application, you will smell the alcohol - do not be alarmed, after 2 minutes there will be no trace of it left. But the hair will be soft and tender to the touch.

Although I don’t have curly strands, the product does an excellent job of protecting against “frizz” (tested on a friend). By the way, if you are planning to go on vacation in the near future, know that the product has a 50 ml format (an alternative to the travel format).

Economical consumption will allow you to share the product with your beloved friend/sister/mother or daughter. In general, everything that is in one way or another connected with vacations, the sea and flights/relocations simply must be produced in travel sizes! It is always difficult for us girls to give up all our bottles, jars and cosmetic bags.

Revitalizing shampoo after sun Solar Sublime, L’Oréal Professionel

Tested by Beautyhack special correspondent Daria Mironova

The shampoo was created specifically for a seaside holiday. The soft formula gently cleanses the scalp), and Mexoryl S.O. technology UV-protect protects against ultraviolet radiation during prolonged exposure to the sun.

Travel-friendly shampoo packaging: convenient flip-up lid, small volume, ergonomic shape (easily fits into any “suitcase” corner). After use, the hair is soft, easy to comb and smells pleasant. I advise you to pay attention to the Solar Sublime line before going to the sea - during the “aggressive” period for hair, a more careful attitude towards it is required.

Leave-in conditioner for hydration and protection Staying.Alive, Kevin.Murphy

Tested by BeautyHack editorial assistant Karina Ilyasova

If I could only use one extra hair care product, I would most likely choose this spray. Firstly, the hair immediately becomes soft after it (thanks to hydrolyzed silk for this).

Secondly, it can and even should be applied not only to the length, but also to the roots - burdock root extract strengthens the bulbs, and rosehip oil moisturizes the scalp.

Thirdly, with it you can forget about frizzy hair (the rainy season this summer did not pass without a trace for me).

Fourthly, I adore Kevin.Murphy fragrances, just everything. If all this doesn’t impress you, here are a few more points: the spray protects your hair from elevated temperatures, has an ultra-light texture, does not stick, and is suitable as a base for styling.

If you are looking for the perfect and universal remedy for hair, it's in front of you!

Moisturizing cream for hair and body Sun Hair & Skin Hydrator, Wella

Tested by BeautyHack editor Natalia Kapitsa

I don’t know about you, but I am the most devoted adherent of traveling with hand luggage and light suitcases. When leaving the plane, I want to feel like a graceful doe, and not a loaded camel - despite my beauty addiction, I try to take a minimum of funds with me. And in order to fit into this minimum, I give preference to “multi-machine operators”. Sun Hair & Skin Hydrator is a representative of this species.

The cream protects hair from UV and moisturizes the scalp, preventing dryness and providing normal nutrition to the hair follicles. The product is light but strong - it is not afraid of bleach, salt, or extreme temperature conditions. The cream protects against fading and hardness - only advantages and nothing else.

The main active ingredient is allatoin, which provides hydration (many thanks to him for this). I apply Sun Hair & Skin Hydrator to clean hair, leave it for three minutes and rinse with water - you can safely go to the beach!

Hair protection spray Linfa Solare Dry Spray, Kemon

Tested by BeautyHack editorial assistant Anya Khobotova

Kemon - Italian family brand professional cosmetics for hair. The lines contain products for any type and for any need - choose or not. This brand is known and loved by many stylists. Although I am not one of the representatives of the latter, I adore Kemon.

To treat sun-damaged hair, the brand’s specialists have developed the Actyva Linfa Solare series. The sun protection line is based on an exclusive technology that includes four active ingredients to protect and restore throughout the summer.

Kemon was perfect for mine curly hair. And even though the sun is a rare guest in our latitudes, the constant humidity outside forces you to use an iron and hair dryer more often. I apply the spray daily before going out and after styling my hair. The curls become softer and the curls turn into beautiful waves.

Shampoo, mask and leave-in spray Sunsorials, Biolage

Tested by the editor-in-chiefBeautyHackKarina Andreeva

I really love Biolage sunscreen shampoos and masks, and this year I tried the updated line.

I distribute Sunsorials shampoo onto damp hair light Massaging movements along the entire length, then rinse thoroughly. Then I apply the mask for 3-5 minutes and rinse them with warm water.

The final step is to spray Sunsorials Hair Protective Non-Oil leave-in spray on damp hair. I like the shine that my hair acquires after this complex, and also - it does not get tangled, is easy to comb and is protected.

The shampoo and mask contain sunflower extract (has antioxidant properties) and ceramides (restore hair from the inside), and the spray contains vitamin E (responsible for moisturizing). I like that the leave-in spray doesn’t weigh them down, doesn’t leave a greasy sheen, and provides great protection. By the way, the entire range is suitable even for colored hair. Although our weather is not as hot as at sea, it is still important to protect your hair from the slightest radiation. I will definitely take these products with me on my next vacation and use them after swimming.

Price for Sunsorials shampoo: 820 rub.
Price for a Sunsorials mask: RUB 1,100.
Price for Sunsorials leave-in spray: RUB 1,280.
