Ideal figure. Female anthropometry

website- Erkeayim Ryskulova is a young mother. While pregnant, she gained 30 kg. Before giving birth, Erkeayim believed that she would be able to quickly lose weight and get in shape, but she was very mistaken. The kilograms came off with great difficulty. How Erkeayim managed to recover after childbirth, you will learn from the interview with her.

L. Erkeayim, hello! When did you start having problems with excess weight?

Problems with excess weight began when I became pregnant. I had never encountered the problem of excess weight before. While in the position I gained 30 kg. I didn’t deny myself anything and quietly gained weight. I didn’t even want to look in the mirror because I considered myself unattractive. Excess weight changes a person beyond recognition. After giving birth, I wanted to get back into shape, but, alas, with a small child, not everything is so easy. Of course, I didn’t have the opportunity to go to the gym, but I had a great desire to lose weight.

L. Did you have any complexes?

Of course, my clothes didn’t fit well. That's why I didn't even buy anything. I often looked at my previous photographs, where I was slim. This is exactly what helped me get into shape quickly. After all, I had never looked like this before. It was mentally difficult for me, and I decided to pull myself together.

L. What did you do as a mother of a baby?

Then, with a height of 156 cm, my weight was 65-67 kg. I tried to eat healthy and go for walks with my baby more often. It was harder for me to get in shape than I thought. Previously, I believed that after giving birth the extra pounds would quickly go away and my former figure would return. I managed to lose only 7 kg in 7 months, but this weight did not suit me either. Then I started doing strength training at home when my baby was sleeping. Home workouts don't require much time. I did the most ordinary exercises, sometimes I worked out with my son when he was awake. They always started with the abdominal press, I think after childbirth this is the most problematic area for women. Then I did squats, push-ups and finished the exercise with a five-minute muscle stretch. I did all the exercises with the help of special training bands, since there were no dumbbells or special equipment for strength exercises at home. Each exercise needs to be repeated 15-20 times and done 2 approaches, depending on how much my son slept (smiles). I believe that if a person pursues some goal, especially if it concerns losing excess weight, then he must adhere to certain rules. Exercises must be accompanied by proper nutrition, that is, if a person goes in for sports, but eats everything in a row, then desired result can't achieve it.

To be honest, I didn’t lose weight right away, the weight came off gradually and with difficulty. I saw the first results only after a month of intense home workouts and proper nutrition. I didn’t come up with any new exercises, I found them on the Internet (laughs).

L. What difficulties did you encounter on the way to an ideal figure?

If we talk about difficulties, then they exist in everything; simply, I did not have the opportunity to go to the gym, since I had no one to leave my son with. I studied at home. Otherwise, I don't see any problems. I really love playing sports; for me it is an important component of life. During this time, I realized what it was like to not be in my body. It was hard for me mentally and physically; I never weighed 80 kg with my height of 156 cm.
The first months of classes were hellish for me, I could not do basic exercises, my joints hurt, I had shortness of breath, and excessive sweating. I overcame all this, and now I remember it with horror.

L. Probably every person experiences laziness to one degree or another. How do you deal with it?

Of course, I have moments of laziness, but I know that if I don’t exercise today or eat everything useless, then tomorrow I definitely won’t get any better. Therefore, I think every person needs to understand what he wants in this life. I am of the opinion that you need to be the best, serve as a role model, strive for something. Don't put everything off until tomorrow.

L. What is your current diet?

I don't go on any diets. I try to eat the right food. My diet does not include fast food, flour, confectionery or soda. I always try to eat porridge for breakfast, for lunch I always eat some light soup and for main meat with rice and vegetables, and for dinner I can only eat a salad with fish cooked in the oven. Of course, I cook a variety of foods, but my diet always contains proteins, carbohydrates, and fats large quantities. I believe that if you choose the right ratio of proteins, fats and carbohydrates for your diet, then you can live calmly and not worry that at some point you will gain weight (smiles).

L. Are you happy with your figure now or is there still something to work on?

Now my weight is 50-52 kg. I'm very happy with my figure. After all, I was able to gather my will into a fist and return to my previous form. IN this moment I got the opportunity to go to the gym, I’ve been working out with a trainer for two months now.

L. Erkeayim, you have come a long way. Any advice for our readers?

Many women after childbirth try to quickly regain their previous weight, but I would like to say that in no case should you resort to exhausting diets and starve yourself. Don't punish your body. I think that to maintain a good figure it is necessary proper nutrition and any physical activity. It could be dancing, swimming, aerobics, whatever. The main thing is that there is a desire, and if there is one, then there will definitely be opportunities (smiles).

It is known that in the USSR healthy weight For a woman, height minus one hundred was calculated using the simplest formula. According to her, Baba Klava from the bench at the entrance was declared a woman with an ideal figure. Later, nutritionists slightly changed the formula - “height minus one hundred and ten,” but for ballerinas the formula “height minus one hundred and twenty” always worked. If such generalized data does not suit you, read on - we have collected the most interesting, relevant and reflective formulas.

Ideal weight calculator

Classification of body types according to Solovyov:

  1. Asthenic type: less than 18 cm in men, less than 15 cm in women.
  2. Normosthenic type: 18-20 cm in men, 15-17 in women.
  3. Hypersthenic type: more than 20 cm in men, more than 17 cm in women.

Cooper's formula

Ideal weight for a woman (kg): (height (cm) x 3.5: 2.54 - 108) x 0.453.
Ideal weight for a man (kg): (height (cm) x 4.0: 2.54 - 128) x 0.453.

Lorentz formula

Ideal weight = (height (cm) – 100) – (height (cm) – 150)/2

For our heroine, the ideal weight will be 25 kg. What?

Küttl formula (body mass index)

Body mass index is designed to determine overweight and identify obesity. BMI is familiar to many.

BMI = weight (kg) : (height (m))2

BMI below 19 - underweight.

  • At the age of 19-24 - BMI should be between 19 and 24;
  • at the age of 25-34 - BMI should be from 19 to 25;
  • at the age of 35-44 - BMI should be from 19 to 26;
  • at the age of 45-54 - BMI should be from 19 to 27;
  • at the age of 55-64 - BMI should be from 19 to 28;
  • over the age of 65 - BMI should be from 19 to 29.

Calculation example:

weight - 50 kg.

height - 1.59 m

BMI = 50/(1.59*1.59) = 19.77 (normal BMI)

Fixed weight-height coefficient

The calculation is made on the basis of a fixed coefficient (weight in grams divided by height in centimeters). The table below is for women aged 15 to 50 years.

Ideal weight formula: (height in cm*coefficient)/1000

Broca's formula

It was this formula, proposed by the French physician Brock more than a hundred years ago, that was used in vulgar calculations. Broca's formula takes into account body types: asthenic (thin), normosthenic (normal) and hypersthenic (stocky).

Ideal weight formula:

  • up to 40 years old: height -110
  • after 40 years: height - 100

Asthenics subtract 10%, and hypersthenics add 10%.

So, our calculations:

age - 24 years

height - 159 cm

physique - hypersthenic.

Ideal weight = 53.9 kg.

Broca-Brugsch formula

This is a modified Broca formula for people with non-standard height: less than 155 cm and more than 170 cm.

  • Less than 165 cm: ideal weight = height - 100
  • 165-175 cm: ideal weight = height - 105
  • More than 175 cm: ideal weight = height - 110.

Egorov-Levitsky table

Attention: the table shows the maximum weight for this height!

Our exemplary woman, with her weight of 50 kg, height 159 cm and age 24 years, is far from the maximum. And this is good.

Many consider this table to be the most comprehensive and balanced approach to determining the presence of excess weight.

Bornhardt Index (1886)

Also uses chest circumference data.

Ideal weight = height * chest circumference / 240

Robinson's Formula (1983)

There is an opinion that it is incorrect for men.

For women (height in inches):

49 + 1.7*(height - 60)

For men (height in inches):

52 + 1.9*(height - 60)

Miller's Formula (1983)

For women (height in inches):

Ideal weight = 53.1 + 1.36*(height - 60)

For men (height in inches):

Ideal weight = 56.2 +1.41*(height - 60)

Monneroth-Dumain formula

This formula takes into account body type, bone volume, and muscle mass.

Ideal weight = height - 100 + (4*wrist))/2

Kref's formula

This formula takes into account age and body type.

Ideal weight = (height - 100 + (age/10))*0.9*coefficient

Odds:

  • Wrist less than 15 cm - coefficient 0.9
  • Wrist 15-17 cm - coefficient 1
  • Wrist over 17 cm - coefficient 1.1.

Mohammed's Formula (2010)

Ideal weight = height * height * 0.00225

According to him, the ideal weight of our heroine should be 56.88 (which is a bit too much).

Nagler's formula

A bit too general, Nagler's formula doesn't take into account your age or current weight at all - only height and gender.

For women (note: height in inches!):

Ideal weight = 45.3 + 2.27 * (height - 60)

For men (attention: height in inches!):

Formula Humvee (1964)

Online weight calculators on the Internet usually use this:

Formula for women (height in inches):

Ideal weight = 45.5 +2.2 * (height - 60)

Formula for men (height in inches):

Ideal weight = 48 + 2.7 * (height - 60)

Devin's Formula (1974)

Dr. Devin invented it to correctly calculate doses medicines. It came into the public consciousness as an ideal weight calculator later and enjoyed great success. True, there are also disadvantages: for women of small stature, the weight is usually offered very little.

For women (height in inches):

Ideal weight = 45.5 + 2.3 * (height - 60)

For men (height in inches):

Ideal weight = 50 + 2.3 * (height - 60)

    I am 39 years old.. My weight with height 1.64 61 kg is normal or too much??

    Girls, you should definitely play sports, no matter what age you are! Anna writes that after the operation the doctors do not allow her, so - I had two abdominal operations, after the second operation there were three days of intensive care, serious problems with the cervicothoracic spine and the doctors also said that one should not strain, etc. They treated me up to the 2nd disability group..... and abandoned me. My weight was always below normal, although I never looked skinny. To make it shorter, I will say that after prolonged suffering I took up sports according to the Bubnovsky system, I have been doing it since 2012, now I am 55 years old, weight 60 kg and height 166 cm. There is no belly, no folds, cellulite and everything else is not observed)))) )) Ira said correctly, you can weigh 52 kg, but if the muscles are flabby, then the appearance will not be so great. So, Anechka, stop tormenting yourself with all sorts of diets, find Bubnovsky’s gymnastics on the Internet, start practicing and. believe me. you will want to live!)))) These are not just words, they have been tested on themselves. I'm without outside help I couldn’t walk, but now I’m just flying! Good luck to you all!))))) And, by the way, I never tormented myself with diets, I just stuck to it after the operation. I am for separate meals: if proteins - then only with vegetables, carbohydrates in the same way - with vegetables. Moreover, carbohydrates are consumed in the first half of the day. squirrels - second half of the day.

    Well, I lost weight from 60 to 49 (49,500). And again I almost lost my life. Now my jeans size is 25, I wear XXS-XS. My height, of course, remained the same :-) But all this would make me happy if I were on a low-carb and low-fat diet I didn’t lose my hair on the diet. In just a few days, so much hair fell out that there was almost nothing left on my head. In addition, my weight started to get closer to the 50 kg mark. Only thanks to the fact that my stomach and body no longer need normal portions of food , and I eat little, I’m still holding on to 49 kg. Personally, I don’t consider myself a skeleton, but my colleagues insist that I have a disease, since I still don’t see the real picture: that I’ve turned into a bag of bones. But I’m crazy I regret my hair. I feel very sad. An even deeper depression has developed. I no longer feel happiness from any weight loss. It would be better if I remained at my previous weight with the parameters: 85-70-92, than to lose my hair. And my hair was very beautiful, thick. Everyone went crazy with envy. Now I’m like a skinned cat, with dried out skin, falling out hair, a dull look and a complete lack of desire to live. It sounds terrible, but it’s true. I’ve lost all directions in life, strength (even just to walk) , lost her memory (literally), lost the incentive to live... And I have a daughter. I need to live and work for her. I need to stand in the yard for hours after work and on weekends and look after her, I need to do homework with her, I need to meet her in the evenings at school, I have to carry bags from the shops, I have to cook for her... All this has become simply unbearable. And before I even happily ran and walked with her, and did my homework with pleasure, and was in perfect control of everything. Now I just forget everything .I’m already ashamed in front of people. They look at me strangely. And where will I get the means to live if I don’t work. And I’m on sick leave again. The doctor said that I have real anorexia and that my hair won’t stop falling out (although much more), until I start eating animal fats and more of them. I just dried up. It turns out that as much as I lost with such inhuman efforts, I won’t gain that much again. After all, I didn’t starve myself, but gave up fats and carbohydrates, which , in fact, this is what you should do if you want to lose weight. I’ll be chubby again with thick cheeks, but without hair. And why do I need all this... Now my colleagues are only gloating: “Well, you’ve lost weight, and now you’ll spend a lot of money on recovery...” I’ve already spent a lot of money on vitamins and medications. I did some very effective mask, and it seems to have gotten better. But still, I’m also sad about the extreme stress that I’ve been experiencing in recent months. In general, my whole life is one big stress, however, age is age, and with age I began to find it difficult to endure everything that was previously perceived and overcome much easier. So it all started before the new year. Day by day I felt better. It’s getting worse and worse. I stopped sleeping, lost my appetite, stopped loving myself. New Year holidays this only got worse. And after the holiday, I was already in severe depression and I was aware that sooner or later something bad would happen to me. It seemed to me that either I would get seriously ill, or I would end up in trouble due to absent-mindedness and immersion in sadness under the car. So I got so sick that I was barely alive. Colleagues didn’t understand what suddenly happened to me, why I changed so radically and from a cheerful, cheerful girl turned into such a grief-stricken person. Everything is so. And now and hair... It takes at least 5 years for it to recover. And this is with a balanced diet and complete peace. And I can only dream of peace. At home, my relatives tyrannize me so much that I myself am surprised how I even lived to be 32. If only my family had been my outlet and Oprah, it would be easier for me to bear all the problems at work. But it turns out that I’ve been alone all my life and for myself. The failure of all life systems was simply inevitable. No one can stand this. No one!

    My height is 1.67 and I weigh 52 kg. My sides and stomach are bulging out due to fat

    I am no taller than 160 cm, 32 years old, a woman who has given birth; the work is very monotonous, office. In 6 years I have gained almost 60 kg. Normosthenic physique. Narrow shoulders and generally narrow, but, alas, not thin. In general, I have too much fat, although my waist I’ve always been (my mother’s oriental Genes). I’m like Anastasia Zavorotnyuk. I fit in normally at 44, but that’s not an indicator of anything, because there’s so much fat... And it’s everywhere. And my legs are full in the thighs. I bought trousers 38, and sometimes on the thighs passed with difficulty. And although all the neighbors continued to call me miniature and thin, it was disgusting to look at myself in the mirror. Moreover, all this is fat, and not just wide bone, covered with a thin layer of skin. My aunt is about 181 cm exactly like that. Everyone keeps saying, skeletal, painful, but I like it that way. More so than when she was at her normal weight, but for some reason she looks like a rock (especially compared to my family, where everyone is small and narrow-boned). Never very little I weighed that much, but also that much. I don’t have the opportunity to play sports and I don’t want to. And I missed a couple of weeks, everything will float again and it will even get worse. And I’m dead. I can’t run and strain myself (after operations). This is not an option. I always saw the solution in losing weight. Once I lost weight to 42-44 and almost died. I lost weight by fasting. With my narrow constitution, I became a non-existent size, I looked like a cancer patient or a first-grader, people whispered unkindly behind my back. But I also liked 45. Best weight , as I noticed, for almost everyone - 50. And tall, and short, and small ones look normal in it. Neither proper nutrition nor restriction helped one gram. At the same time, there didn’t seem to be any gastromonal deviation. But the thought that at 32 I weigh 60, and how much I’ll become at 35-40 made me feel terrible. Then I got very sick, 7 days I didn’t eat or drink and lost 6 kg. Now I weigh 52-53, nothing lower. It’s worth eating at least a piece of something, plus 1 kg, drinking a little more water, plus 1 kg. I have to almost starve. But everyone appreciated it and say, I’m already emaciated. All the clothes 44 are simply huge. Now I wear 40-42 and I myself understand that, of course, this is better. And my cheeks have become much smaller (and they are very large in themselves). 48-50 will be great! But not I can. So it’s all about the constitution and the fat layer. My colleague doesn’t scratch much, she’s trying to lose weight, but her figure is an inverted triangle. The top is huge, the bottom is wide, but flattened, the legs stick out from the big body and hands even thin. I think her legs won’t be any thinner, but I’m losing weight from head to toe in proportion. Even my hands and the girth of my head, feet. All the gloves and balls are big. All 36 are wide - my legs fly out. I don’t advise anyone to lose weight like that. Just sharing my story.

    I old man, I’m over 60, I now weigh 58, height 150. 7 years ago I weighed 75 kg, got sick and spent 4 months in the hospital, where I lost weight to 48 kg and looked like a skeleton covered in skin, although by all calculations I had normal weight. So everything is individual. Now I want to lose 3 kg, but no more.

    I’m over 50, I weighed 75, after a long illness I lost weight to 48, my height is 150 now (it was higher in my youth). So, despite my supposed “normal” weight, I looked like a skeleton covered in skin. Now, after 6 years, I weigh 58 kg, I look normal, however, I want to lose 3 kg, I will be even more normal, but not more, so as not to turn into a skeleton again. So everything is individual.

    KICK! Has everyone gone crazy?

    with a height of 166, you can weigh 66 kg if you do sports and there is nothing hanging. You can weigh 56 kg without sports, both sides and stomach will be. You say she lost weight to 52 and is still not slender, which means she was losing mostly muscle, not fat.

    This is some kind of nonsense. With a height of 166, normal weight is from 52 to 66? My friend weighed 56, and there were folds of fat on her back, thick sides and folds under her breasts, and at the same time her stomach was hanging. So is this normal for height 166? She has now lost weight to 52 and still doesn’t look like a slender birch.

Ideal weight is an average standard that is calculated based on data from a large number of people. But all people are different. Lifestyle, food culture, nationality and body type - all this influences ideal weight. For example, the normal weight of people with a strong physique will be 2-3% higher than that of people with an average build. And the norm for thin people is 3-5% less. Therefore, it is not necessary to strive specifically for the ideal weight, which shows weight calculator. It is quite enough if your weight falls within the calculated range.

Besides weight calculator calculates BMI- body mass index (ideal weight), which is widely used to determine the degree of correspondence between body weight and height.

How to calculate your ideal weight (BMI) yourself

BMI = M: P 2, where

M – body weight in kg

P – height in meters

Example of calculating body mass index: M (weight) – 78 kg, P (height) – 1.68 m

BMI = 78: 1.68 2 = 27.6

From the table below you can see that BMI=27.6 corresponds to overweight.

Interpretation table for BMI indicators

In case of a strong deviation from the norm, it is time to seriously think about correcting your weight. With reduced weight, dystrophy develops. In the modern civilized world, its cause is usually deliberate malnutrition. The desire to have an unnaturally slim figure can result in a violation of both the psyche and physical health- ability to work decreases, skin dries, hair falls out. All this comes from a lack of substances necessary for the body.

However, their excessive excess also does not lead to anything good. A huge number of people suffer from obesity. Excess weight greatly increases the risk of kidney and gallstones, joint deformation, impotence, myocardial infarction and many other diseases. The entire body works under overload, moving masses of fat in space that are not provided for by the design of the human body. It is not surprising that the life expectancy of obese people is on average 6-8 years less than that of others.

There are many formulas on the Internet that allow you to calculate the ideal weight for your height. This information is relevant for girls, as they pay Special attention your figure.

There are no uniform body weight standards for all girls. There are only certain boundaries within which a person can feel comfortable without harming his health.

Some experts argue that the ideal weight is what a woman had at age 18 and that is what she should strive for. But to determine individual weight standards, it is recommended to use one of the formulas below.

Constancy and changes in weight in girls

It is believed that until the age of 18, a girl’s body grows and develops. Every next 10 years, human energy consumption is reduced by approximately 10%. This leads to the fact that a girl who does not change her lifestyle gains approximately 5-7 kg in the first ten years, this is 10% of her ideal weight, and subsequent weight gain occurs from the existing body weight.

To determine the ideal weight for your height for girls, you can use one of the formulas presented in the article.

Experts say that it is necessary to carefully deal with the growing volumes. In order not to harm the body, you can lose weight by 10% of your total weight per year.

Determining ideal weight based on height

There are some average standards for weight relative to height that are suitable for almost any person.

Girl's height in cm Weight in kg
148-150 46-47
151-155 48-50
156-160 51-53
161-165 53-56
166-170 57-59
171-175 60-64
176-180 64-67
181-185 67-70

Such a calculation is carried out without taking into account body size, age and health status, so some differences with the indicated figures may be a variant of the norm.

Ideal weight table based on age

The ideal weight for your height (for women) may vary depending on your age.

The table below presents weight norms in relation to height and age:

Height (cm) 20-29 years (kg) 30-39 years (kg) 40-49 years (kg) 50-60 years (kg) After 60 years (kg)

Egorov-Levitsky table

Egorov Levitsky’s table allows you to find out the maximum allowable weight, taking into account height and build.

Experts distinguish three body types:

The table below allows you to find out, without calculations, the maximum weight for a certain body type relative to height.

Quetelet body mass index calculator: calculation formula

To calculate individual BMI, today the Adolphe Quetelet formula is officially used, which involves making calculations only based on height and body weight. This method allows you to obtain average values without taking into account individual characteristics woman's body.

Formula: I=m/ (h*h).

To calculate the body mass index (I) from it, you need to divide your body weight in kilograms (m) by your height in meters (h) squared. For example, if a girl weighs 80 kg and is 1.6 meters tall, her weight index will be 80/ (1.6 * 1.6), that is, 31.25.

To find out whether this indicator is normal, you should compare it with the parameters in the table:

BMI Decoding
Up to 16 Exhaustion, lack of body weight.
16-18 Lack of weight.
18-24 Optimal values.
24-29 Excess body weight. On the verge of obesity.
29-34 Obesity 1st degree.
34-39 Obesity 2 degrees.
Above 40 Obesity 3 degrees.

The figures shown in the table are registered with the World Health Organization and are reliable.

Broca's formula

The ideal weight for your height (for women) can be calculated using a formula derived by the French surgeon Paul Brocq. It is only suitable for those people whose height is above 155 cm and below 185 cm.

Formula: optimal weight = (height – 100)*0.85. With a height of 165 cm, the ideal body weight would be (165-100)*0.85 or 55.25 kg.

Nagler's formula

Nagler's formula allows you to determine the optimal weight taking into account a person's height and gender, without taking into account existing parameters such as body weight and age.
The formula looks like this: correct weight= 2.27*(person’s height in inches – 60) + 45.3.

With a height of 165 cm, the optimal body weight will be 2.27 * (64.96 - 60) + 45.3 = 56.56.

Dushanin's formula

To calculate the optimal weight, you should enter your data into the following formula: 50 + (height - 150) x 0.32 + (number of completed years - 21)/5. For example, for a girl of 20 years old, 160 cm tall, the ideal body weight will be: 50 + (160 - 150) x 0.32 + (20-21)/5 = 53 kg.

John McCallum formula

McCallum's formula is not aimed at determining ideal weight, but at identifying perfect proportions bodies suitable for a particular person.

  • chest circumference is equal to 6.5 wrist volumes;
  • waist circumference should be equal to 70% of chest circumference;
  • hip circumference – 53% of chest volume;
  • neck volume – 37% of chest circumference;
  • biceps should have a volume equal to 36% of the chest circumference;
  • calf circumference - about 30% of the chest volume;
  • forearm – 29% of chest circumference.

Thus, a girl with a wrist girth of 17.5 cm should have the following body proportions:

  • chest - 114;
  • neck – 42;
  • forearm – 33;
  • hip -60;
  • biceps – 41;
  • waist – 80;
  • shin 39.

All indicators are presented in centimeters.

Lorentz formula

The Lorenz formula is aimed at determining the optimal body weight for people over 18 years of age with a height of 140 to 220 cm.

The formula is as follows: body weight = woman’s height in cm - ((girl’s height in cm - 150) / 2) - 100.

Calculation of ideal weight according to Dukan

The optimal weight is calculated individually on the official website.

In order to obtain the desired information, you need to know such parameters as:

  • age;
  • height;
  • Lifestyle.

At the end of the calculation, the online calculator provides data on:

  • body mass index;
  • status of this weight;
  • ideal weight;
  • the number of kg that need to be lost or gained.

This program also adjusts the duration of each Dukan Diet cycle.

Cooper's formula

The ideal weight for your height (for girls) can be calculated using the Cooper equation. It looks like this: correct weight = 0.624 * height - 48.9. Height must be indicated in cm. For a girl 165 cm tall, the recommended weight will be as follows: 0.624 * 165 - 48.9 = 54.06 kg.

Küttl formula (body mass index)

Kjutla's formula is considered the most modern. It allows you to calculate your body's BMI based on your current weight and height.

Formula: individual BMI = all in kg/height in m*height in m.

Based on the presented formula, a girl 170 cm tall and weighing 80 kg will have a BMI = 80/1.7 * 1.7 = 27.69. By calculating your individual BMI, you can estimate your likelihood of developing obesity.

The optimal BMI indicators are:

  • from 18 to 25 years old -18-26;
  • from 25 to 34 years old – 18-26;
  • from 34 to 45 years old – 18-27;
  • from 45 to 54 years old – 18-28;
  • from 54 to 66 years old – 18-29;
  • from 66 years old – 18-29.

A BMI less than 18 indicates severe exhaustion.

Bornhardt index

The ideal weight for your height can be determined using a single method that takes into account chest circumference. For girls, the formula is as follows: recommended weight = person’s height in cm * chest circumference in cm / 240.

For a woman with a height of 165 cm and a chest volume of 88 cm, the ideal body weight will be 165 * 88 / 240 = 60.5 kg.

Robinson's formula

Robinson's formula is an improvement on Devin's calculations for determining a girl's ideal weight. It looks like this: body weight = 49 + 1.7 * (human height in inches - 60).

For a woman who is 165 cm tall, the best weight would be 49 + 1.7 * (0.393701 * 165 - 60) = 57.43 kg.

Miller's formula

Miller's formula is also an improved version of Devin's calculations and is based on growth rates.

Body weight calculations must be made as follows: 1.36 * (person’s height in inches - 60) + 53.1.

For girls 165 cm tall, the following values can be calculated: 1.36 * (0.393701 * 165 - 60) + 53.1 = 59.84 kg. This method cannot be used as the only correct one, since the calculations do not take into account such indicators as a person’s weight and age.

Monneroth-Dumain formula

Equation: correct weight = (human height cm - 100 + (4 * wrist of one hand in cm)) / 2. A woman with a height of 165 cm and a wrist volume of 16 cm should have a weight equal to ((165 - 100) + (4 * wrist of one hand)) / 2 = 64.5 kg.

Kref's formula

Kreff's formula is an improved calculation of the Broca index. In addition to standard parameters, it includes age and body quotient.

Equation: (Human height in cm - 100 + (number of full years / 10)) * 0.9 * multiplier

Constitution Multiplier:

  • wrist volume less than 16 cm -0.9;
  • wrist from 16 to 18 cm – 1;
  • wrist volume more than 18 cm – 1.1.

Mohammed's formula

Mohammed's formula was developed in 2010. It can be used to calculate the optimal weight for girls of any height. Unlike many older calculations, this method does not give false results for small or high growth rates.

Formula Humvee

The Humvee formula is the basis of many online calculators to calculate recommended body weight.

Equation: optimal weight = 2.2 * (girl’s height in inches - 60) + 45.5.

With a height of 165 cm, the girl should have a weight of 2.2 * (64.96 - 60) + 45.5 = 56.41 kg.

Devin formula

Devin's formula was developed to calculate the required dosage of pharmacological agents in 1974. And only a few years later it began to be used to identify the optimal body weight of a person.

The equation looks like this: optimal weight = 2.3 * (girl’s height in inches - 60) + 45.5. With a height of 165 cm, a girl is recommended to have a weight equal to 2.3 * (64.96 - 60) + 45.5 = 56.41 kg.

Opinion of nutritionists: permissible deviations from calculations

Experts say that all the presented formulas can only calculate approximate indicators of a person’s optimal weight. Most often, calculations turn out to be incorrect for very tall and short women. Nutritionists believe that it is important to take into account not the results themselves, but their deviations from established standards. Since the same weight in people with different heights may indicate a different state of the body.

To identify existing deviations, you need to calculate using the following formula: overweight or underweight = optimal weight – existing weight.

If a value with a + sign is received, this indicates a lack of weight, negative result– excess body weight. To understand whether these deviations are normal, you should substitute the obtained data into the following equation: deviation from the optimal weight - (recommended weight - actual weight) * 100%.

If the result is within 10%, then the woman’s current weight is considered normal. Calculating the ideal weight for your height is not difficult. But you should not take the information received literally. The only way for girls to reliably find out their optimal body weight is to consult a specialist.
