Do you want to surprise your friends and acquaintances with something unusual? Then let them taste the “name apples.” Experienced gardener and inventor Nikolai Kirillovich Erygin shares his “invention”.

Here's his story.

Several years ago I noticed that the side of an apple, which is protected from the sun by a leaf, does not “tan” and remains pale. That's when the idea came to mind: what if we glued letters onto an apple? It was only later that I learned that large stores sell imported fruits with inscriptions in a foreign language.

For one such fruit you have to pay a tidy sum.

And I came to this point with my own mind. True, I had to conduct several experiments before I was pleased with the result. But now I know for sure: for “drawing” it is better to take “red apples - say, the Belarusian sweet variety.

The technology is as follows: When the apples begin to turn red at the end of summer, I cut out the letters of the future inscription from newspaper in such a size as to place it on the fruit. A piece wet soap I carefully glue them onto the apple. The inscription holds up well. The fruit gradually ripens, turns red and only the areas under the paper remain greenish-yellow. When the time comes to harvest, I remove the paper from the experimental apple - and a miracle - the fruit is in my hand!

You can do it another way: wrap the fruit tightly in paper, and then cut out the letters in this blank. The result will be red lettering on a light background.

I give these original apples to my friends for the holidays. The reaction is complete delight!

Imagination will suggest patterns

An original dessert for children and adults made from the most common (and most inexpensive) apples! How to make a small masterpiece out of a simple apple? It’s easy, and most importantly, simple, by decorating them with icing! And, besides, you can involve little helpers in painting apples. If desired, you can make any inscription on the apples, and this will be an unusual dessert for February 14, for a birthday or any other holiday! Recipes for apple desserts usually do not mention this method of serving, but it is so interesting and quick to prepare!
The pattern can be anything - as your imagination dictates! If your hand is not yet full (like mine, because before that I only once made and painted gingerbread cookies), then it’s easier to make not lines (it’s difficult to achieve the same thickness for the first time), but dots. You can also use dots to make any drawing, pattern or inscription!

Glaze bag

How to make glaze for painting
All you need is protein and powdered sugar. To paint a kilogram of apples, I beat a little less than HALF of the white of one egg with a large pack (80 grams) of vanilla powdered sugar(so the aroma was amazing too). True, the glaze seemed a little runny to me, I would have added a little more powder, but there was no more. I advise you to stock up on one more bag. You can make the powder yourself by grinding sugar in a coffee grinder. In general, the classic recipe for icing for painting is to beat 1-2 egg whites with 1.5 cups of powdered sugar (I always use much more powder, twice as much). But this amount of glaze will be enough for several boxes of apples. However, you can simply dip the apples completely into the glaze to create a very tasty dessert.

For painting you will need ziplock bags. These are often used for packaging accessories and can be found in office supply stores. A little, because one hole gets clogged with grains of sugar, and then the icing leaks out from above if you press too hard. I usually also use a clothespin. To paint, cut off a corner of the bag; the smaller the hole, the thinner the line.

Outline symmetrical designs

If you want to make a symmetrical pattern, for example, a heart or a complex flower, it is more convenient to first make a “sketch” with small dots and outline the outline.
I advise you to wash the apples with soap before coloring, because they are treated with something and the peel seems glossy. The glaze may not adhere very well to such an apple. If the drawing doesn’t work out the first time or the line is not straight, it’s okay, the glaze can be easily removed with your finger, even if it has already hardened. As a last resort, the drawing can always be corrected by wetting cotton swab or a napkin. If you transport painted apples, for example, take them to a party, I advise you to wrap each one in a napkin and put it in a plastic container so that the apples lie tightly. If you just carry them in a bag, they will rub against each other and the icing may fall off.
