How to cut very long hair. We cut the ends to restore the hair structure, but we do it beautifully

Split ends of hair are a problem for many women. There are several ways to restore damaged curls using haircuts or other health procedures. Even at home, you can beautifully cut and improve the health of split ends of your hair, and properly care for your hair to avoid this problem.

Beautiful and healthy hair is a source of pride for any woman. However, split strands significantly worsen even the most chic hairstyle. To restore the structure and prevent the occurrence of split strands, it is necessary to trim the ends of the hair, but this must be done beautifully.

Options for cutting ends: their essence and purpose

Even if you intend to grow long curls, you cannot do without a haircut. The main reason for cutting ends is to get rid of split hairs, which give the hair an unkempt look, prevent their appearance and improve the health of the hair in general.

How often to cut the ends of your hair and how to care for your curls determines their health and attractive appearance.
Your curls will always look healthy and well-groomed if you cut them every two to three months by 1-2 cm, and between trips to the hairdresser regularly use masks and other means to strengthen the strands.

Haircut technology

Split ends must be removed in a timely manner, regardless of the hairstyle and characteristics of the hair.

This procedure can be done at home using professional tool hairdresser The simplest option is to remove the split ends above the delamination level.

To trim your ends yourself, check out the following tips:
  • Pinch a small strand between your index and middle fingers and cut the ends, holding the scissors strictly perpendicular
  • Cut the hair 5 mm above the cut area so that after cutting there are no split ends left.
  • To see exactly where the cut hair ends, choose the right background for the haircut: for light hair ends - dark and vice versa. If it is difficult to determine the length of the cut curls, twist a small strand into a rope in one direction, then in the other direction. The hairs that get out of the bundle and stick out to the side are the very damaged ends
  • Owners of not very thick strands need to part their hair into two parts, then throw them in front and trim first one part, then the other
  • For trimming thick and long curls you need to tie a ponytail on the top of your head, then throw it over your face and trim the ends in several stages
  • It is more difficult to work with curly curls - they need to be divided into strands, secured with hairpins and cut off each strand one by one.

Thinning and its features

After cutting the ends of the strands, hairdressers usually suggest thinning. This is an artificial thinning of the volume of curls, which makes the hairstyle more natural and complete.

Depending on the structure of the strands, thinning can correct their visual volume, smooth out sharp transitions between layers of cut hair and improve texture.

Another purpose of thinning is to create spectacular “ragged” ends., which will complement the original and bold image.

Thinning: types and subtleties of the procedure

Thinning is a popular procedure that can be done either in a hairdresser or independently at home. There are several types of thinning long or other hair, depending on its purpose:

  • Thinning bangs, which softens their contours and gives a more complete look
  • Root thinning, which is done to reduce the volume of thick curls
  • Thinning the hair along the entire length, which allows you to create a “ragged” haircut with an emphasis on strands of different lengths
  • Thinning of the ends of the hair, so that the lower part of the curls does not weigh down the hairstyle, has smooth contours.

Depending on the cutting angle of the curls, thinning their ends is done using several methods:

  • Horizontal
    the fixed strand is cut to 4-5 mm, holding the scissors perpendicularly; This technique gives the hairstyle pomp and volume.
  • Vertical
    the strand is pulled to the side, and the scissors, cutting the hair, go down; the ends of the strands become smoother and rounder.
  • Thinning with “teeth”
    the ends of the curls are cut at an angle of 45 degrees at a distance of about 5 mm.

For thinning to bring the expected effect, listen to some secrets of professional hairdressers:

  • Thinning your hair can either add volume or reduce its fullness. In the first case, you need to work with scissors from bottom to top, in the second - vice versa
  • Partial thinning (thinning of the ends) is performed with an indentation of ⅔ of the length of the strands; for thinning along the full length of the hair, ⅓ of the part is indented
  • In some cases, you need to get by with a haircut without thinning. It is not recommended to thin out thin and weakened curls that have a rough structure, as well as curly strands with curls that are uneven in length.

Secrets of high-quality hair cutting

Choosing scissors

The first stage of cutting hair ends at home - right choice tool. Under no circumstances should you cut your hair with ordinary scissors - they can seriously damage its structure, the restoration of which will take a lot of expensive products and a lot of time.

Purchase special hairdressing scissors from a specialty store. For thinning, you will also need thinning scissors or a so-called “razor”.

Among the variety of models of professional hairdressing tools, choose those that will be most convenient for you to work with. For example, some models are equipped with a special little finger rest to ensure minimal effort during operation.

Scissors with asymmetric rings allow the hand to take a more natural position, which reduces muscle tension. Quality product opens and closes softly and smoothly. During “idle” operation of the scissors, slight friction between the blades should be felt.

Haircut with flagella

Many modern hairstyles involve strands of varying lengths, so cutting the ends does not solve the problem of split strands. In this case, you need to use another technique for getting rid of split ends without changing the length of the curls - using flagella.

This technique is convenient for cutting the ends of long hair, even at home:

  • The hair is pinned or gathered into a strand so that it does not interfere with work.
  • A small strand is separated from the bundle and twisted in one direction until a tight strand is formed. In this case, the split ends will stick out in different directions.
  • Stray hairs should be carefully trimmed along the entire length of the curl, after which the tip of the strand is trimmed by 1-2 cm.
  • The same strand is twisted with a flagellum in the other direction, and the procedure with the removal of split ends along the entire length is repeated.

Before the procedure of cutting curls with flagella, it is recommended to wash your hair and dry it.

Treatments against split ends

Professional hairdressers can offer a range of services to help get rid of split ends. A similar procedure to a home haircut with flagella is a haircut using hot scissors.
When cutting dry split ends, a salon technician will use a special tool that seals a section of each hair along its entire length.

Thus, the hair does not lose moisture, which makes it healthier and more attractive. In this case, you can forget about the delamination of hairs for a long time.

Lamination

Another popular hair care procedure that hairdressers can offer is lamination. It involves sealing each hair with a special protective film, which protects the curls from the effects of negative factors and sections.
This method helps restore hair and keep it healthy, shiny and well-groomed for a long time, and prevents the dye from washing out.

The lamination procedure should be repeated on average every one and a half to two months - after this time, the cellulose protective film begins to lose its properties. Experts agree that this method of hair care is absolutely harmless.

To not only protect your curls, but also improve their health, you should use a special procedure called phytolamination. In this case, the film not only glues split ends, but also has a caring effect due to the vitamins and nutrients it contains.

Shielding

Similar salon procedureshielding of strands. Just like with lamination, a protective film is applied to the curls, but unlike the first procedure, shielding has a pronounced healing effect. Hair not only becomes smooth, shiny and voluminous, but also healthy, with a restored structure.

Nutrient based natural oils and plant extracts envelop each hair, penetrating deeply into its layers and filling the damage. Using shielding, you can also change the color of your hair without causing harm to it.

Having done shielding, you should remember that its effect is short-lived. To maintain beautiful ends of long hair and a chic hairstyle in general, you need to repeat this procedure once every month and a half.

Split ends of strands spoil any, even the most sophisticated hairstyle. To avoid this problem, you need to follow the rules for caring for the ends of your hair, presented below:

  • Use special shampoos with a healing effect (wheat sprouts, vitamin B5, lecithin, lactic acid, linden or chamomile extract have a good effect on damaged ends)
  • Don't rub wet hair with a towel, otherwise they will be injured not only at the ends, but along the entire length
  • Try to dry your hair naturally. Using a hair dryer, curling iron or other heating devices on wet hair weakens and splits the curls.
  • Avoid hair styling products that contain alcohol
  • After each hair wash, additionally moisturize the ends of the strands by applying a special conditioner to them.
  • Intense hydration will be provided by special products for hair ends containing coconut, olive, burdock, almond and other cosmetic oils.
  • Once a week, apply nourishing and moisturizing masks to your hair for the ends of your hair; this can also be done at home (masks based on various oils, kefir, yeast, gelatin, honey, cabbage juice, lemon, spinach and parsley have proven to work best)
  • Avoid using metal combs and jewelry - contact with metal can damage your strands.
  • Tight elastic bands and hairpins also harm your curls, try to use them as little as possible
  • Try not to comb wet hair - it breaks and flakes easily. As a last resort, use only flat combs with sparsely spaced teeth.
  • Give up perm or dyeing curls; if you want to change the color of your hair, use only natural pigments. After chemical exposure to hair, carry out restorative procedures for hair
  • Wear hats during extreme heat, wind and frost
  • Enrich your diet with vitamins and minerals. In the spring and winter, take special complexes to maintain the health of your hair and the whole body.

Beautiful and healthy curls from root to tip are the pride of any woman. Treating the ends will help make your hairstyle more neat and complete, giving it the necessary volume. To prevent the main problem of strands - their cross-section - from overtaking you, follow the basic rules daily care for hair.

Video: technology for cutting hair ends with your own hands

It is quite possible to cut your hair yourself, you just need to know the right technology. In today's videos we suggest watching how girls cut the ends of their hair at home.

In order for your hair to remain beautiful and well-groomed, it needs to be cut, no matter how trite it may sound. You can give free rein to your imagination: trim the ends or radically change your image.

When choosing a haircut, you should consider your face shape.

It’s not for nothing that they say “this haircut suits you!”, because the shape of the head and facial features are the main aspects in choosing a future image. It is enough to simply emphasize the features of the type and hide some flaws with the help.

There is a set of “ideal” hairstyles for any shape, highlighted by many years of experience of stylists and designers. The shape of the cheekbones, the height of the forehead and chin, and the arch of the jaw are taken into account.

And also the softness or sharpness of the features so that the hair fits and complements natural beauty:

  • . Short hair, torn asymmetrical haircuts and chaotic curls are a win-win. Long and straight ones are not recommended - they visually lengthen the face even more, you should give preference to the “cascade” and “ladder”; oblique bangs and slight negligence are acceptable;
  • round face. It is advised to stretch it out, so haircuts are recommended middle length with a voluminous emphasis on the crown. Among short ones, “bob” and “pixie” are preferred - voluminous and asymmetrical.

Angled bob, long cascades and neat curls so as not to give the face more fullness;

  • triangular face. It is worth increasing the volume towards the lower part of the head, visually making the chin larger and softening the sharp features.

Don't stop there short versions, since the styling is concentrated at the top. A bob and an elongated “garcon”, lush bangs are also suitable;

  • square face.

Of course, hairstyles that round the face - without sharp lines, covering the cheeks - will be popular.

A bob in any design will be ideal. On long hair, a straight haircut will look advantageous, but you should not make a “ladder”;

  • heart-shaped face. Due to the similarity of the shape with the triangular one, the same options will do.

The importance of details

The structure of the hair is also taken into account.

You cannot ignore such nuances as the size and shape of the nose. A small nose allows you to use small, chaotic curls, while a wide nose allows you to use straight haircuts, preferably with a more massive upper part.

The structure of the hair determines the required volume. They will look more magnificent if you give preference to airy and high hairstyles.

Thick curls fall more neatly in cascading haircuts.

Naturally curly hair curls more strongly in short haircuts, so it is best to choose medium or long version, due to its own weight, the hair will form noble curls.

Choosing bangs

Many types of bangs for different forms faces.

To satisfy the need for changes, it is not necessary to cut your hair completely; sometimes it is enough to change it, and any image will sparkle in a new way. The opinion that bangs are not suitable for everyone has long lost relevance - there is a choice for all shapes and types of faces.

Classified as follows:

  • straight/oblique;
  • long/short;
  • torn;
  • milled;
  • arcuate;
  • asymmetrical.

The convenience is that this part of the hairstyle grows back quickly and allows you to change your image often and quickly.

With the same success, with its help, an unsuccessful haircut is corrected, and defects are “polished.”

Feel free to experiment!

A little about long braids

Long hair should be well-groomed.

Since ancient times, they were considered the embodiment of femininity, so many female representatives grow them throughout their lives.

Unfortunately, many people forget about the health and neatness of their hair. It is important to remember that the length itself is not as important as the presentable appearance.

  1. Hair is prone to oiliness and requires daily washing, which brings great inconvenience and time costs;
  2. The structure is severely damaged by lightening or hot styling, so when growing, the ends are severely split;
  3. The hair itself is thin and straight, which, with a long length, makes the hairstyle visually even more meager;

Split ends look untidy, and if it’s half the length, the whole look is ruined, so it’s much nicer to have a medium or short haircut on healthy and fresh hair.

It is also worth considering age, because the older the woman, the simpler she looks long braid. She decorates young girls, and changing her hairstyle will help her look stylish throughout her life.

In adulthood, short hair is more relevant, the main thing is to follow trends and choose the right shape.

"Shortened" alternatives

You don't have to spend your whole life growing up to look elegant. On short hair Light, careless styling looks beautiful.

In addition, such haircuts reveal the outlines of the neck and shoulders more - this will add femininity to the image. More strict geometric hairstyles, but they are an indicator of determination and extravagance.

The medium length gives even more possibilities. You can balance the proportions of any face: classic bobs and bobs are restrained and aesthetic; for the more daring, torn, asymmetrical haircuts are suitable.

At shoulder level, both straight styles and soft waves look equally advantageous.

Basic haircut rules

It's better to trust the professionals.

Any professional hairdresser or stylist has immutable truths and rules that are followed unquestioningly. Every salon visitor should know about the most basic ones.

  1. The first and most important rule is not to try to cut your hair yourself. Whether it’s a fashionable haircut or trimming bangs and ends, it’s better to go to a professional right away than to revive cut hair later;
  2. Use only sharpened hairdressing scissors, as those designed for cutting paper severely damage the ends;
  3. It is much easier to cut wet, straight hair; it lays flat and does not tangle. Curly hair should be cut dry so that you can immediately see the length without stretching;
  4. The bottom in a straight line is suitable only for those with perfectly smooth hair; in other cases, it is worth aligning it in a semicircle or cascade.

This will refresh the image and provide an opportunity wide selection styling

How often should I get my hair cut?

Determine the frequency of haircuts yourself.

There is no clear answer to this question. Everyone has their own hair growth rate, and the length increases unevenly.

The trimming schedule should be drawn up individually, based on the characteristics of the scalp, hair structure and the goal.

In order to maintain or increase length, you need to visit the hairdresser regularly. When growing, hair often becomes fragile not only at the ends; to prevent this from happening, cutting off a few millimeters every month or two is a must.

With this procedure, the braid will grow back much faster than without cutting at all. The same principle is used to preserve and improve the health of medium-length hair.

If the goal is to maintain a model haircut and hairstyle, you need to refresh it more often.

With a length above the shoulders, the hair breaks less and grows more intensively, but this makes the styling quickly lose its intended appearance. Therefore, you should resort to scissors at least once every 4-5 weeks.

After analyzing all the aspects, the choice remains only with the future owner of the haircut. Do not forget that a hairstyle is the base; in order for it to look presentable, you need to take care of your hair carefully, regardless of the model and length.

The correct form of styling, neat and healthy hair is the law of an ideal image.

From this video you will learn how to properly cut your hair at home.

A haircut is a universal and profitable way to quickly correct an image, bring a new spirit to life and slightly dilute the gray women's everyday life. Hairdressers and traditional salon services are not always convenient. Often there is no desire to waste part of your day on empty gatherings in the salon. Therefore, many girls decide to take the risk of cutting their own hair.

Choosing scissors

In order for the result to please you, you need to carefully figure out how to cut your own hair at home. In such delicate experiments it is worth relying on the opinions of more successful figures. First of all, professionals advise purchasing sharp and durable scissors. How stronger material, the better the assembly and the more convenient the location of the functional rings, the easier the cutting process will be. You shouldn’t save money and use homemade scissors or an outdated grandma’s comb; only new and sharp tools can bring the necessary success.

Finding such a thing is not so difficult; the difficulty lies in choosing a physiologically convenient tool. When you come to a professional store, you should not be shy or nervous. The selected model of scissors must fit comfortably in the palm of your hand and not pinch blood vessels on your fingers. It is discomfort that can prevent you from accomplishing your plans.

First stage

If the tool is successfully chosen, you can proceed to the rules of cutting. It is worth remembering the basics, and success with a minimum of costs is guaranteed. The main rule of a quality haircut is clean curls. Before starting, you should wash your hair with a neutral shampoo and use a proven conditioner. Slightly damp curls are more flexible, and it is much easier to use scissors on damp strands.

How to cut your own capricious thick or wavy hair? Curls of this type dry out quickly; when cutting, you should stock up on a sprayer, it will help control the humidity of the lower layers. For unruly hair, you can create a cocktail - add a little of your usual hair conditioner into a spray bottle with water. Then the process of separating and combing will be more comfortable and easier.

How to cut your own hair? Mastering the basics hairdressing, you should get used to dividing your hair into functional parts. The first step is to comb the top one thoroughly with a comb (you can moisten it with some water for greater comfort) and secure it with a comfortable hairpin. Such delamination prevents tangling of the strands and helps in organizing the haircut itself (cascading or asymmetrical).

Eliminating split ends

The first pest female beauty hair are split ends. In preparation for the process of eliminating this phenomenon, it is necessary to thoroughly examine the entire thickness of the hair. This will help analyze their condition and the extent of intervention.

How to cut your own hair at home? For everything to work out, it’s worth remembering the main principle of working with split ends. It is necessary to cut off the hair 0.5-1 centimeter above the place of bifurcation or loss of integrity (sometimes the curls have not yet split, but the place has already lightened and has a forked cavity).

Many women do not understand how to cut their own hair without twisting their arms. But the main principle remains the management of the non-dominant. It is with her fingers that you need to grab a strand of hair and move it along the entire length with a floating movement, stopping at a clearly defined cut point. When choosing the length, you should take into account the drying process of the hair, during which the curls rise at the roots, thereby shortening the length.

You can cut off the excess by simply repeating the procedure, and in the case of an initially excessive length, the “measure seven times” rule will work - you won’t be able to glue the cut so confidently. Any haircut is based on the correct grip of the strands and their moderate tension. The scissors should only be positioned perpendicularly, cutting in one motion, without intermediate cuts. The position of the hands and the strands must be motionless; dangling palms will lead to mowing and the haircut will have to be polished by a hairdresser.

Cascade

Trimming the ends yourself is not an easy task, but it can be done. Things are worse with multi-layered haircuts. Many girls have no idea how to cut their own hair in a cascade. What is this hairstyle like? Cascade - flirty, multifunctional and feminine haircut, doing it with your own hands sometimes seems like an impossible task. To overcome this peak you will need the same scissors, a spray bottle with a solution of water and conditioner, as well as a comb and small clamps.

How to cut your own hair in a cascade? To understand this issue, you need to ideally comb your hair with a comb with thick but soft teeth. Next, all the hair should be pulled into a ponytail on the forehead, tilting the head down. The elastic band must be soft so that it does not put too much pressure on the roots. The hair must be cut evenly so that the bun is completely uniform along the cut line. Next, the thinning scissors come into play. You can lightly brush them over the ends of your hair. Then, having already profiled, you can remove the elastic band.

Bang

Having mastered the technique of performing a cascade, it’s worth figuring out how to cut your own bangs. After all, with such a haircut it is often recommended to wear bangs. This way she looks more impressive and feminine. Depending on the shape of the face and wishes, the bangs can be made either smooth and attractively thick, or chaotically asymmetrical.

How to cut your own bangs and not be left with a short semblance of it? First, you should pay attention to the hair structure. Thin curls that lack lush natural strength should be cut into thicker bangs. This way your hair will look well-groomed. Thick and coarse curls can easily transform into either thick or sparse bangs.

Having chosen your haircut style, first of all, you should separate the required amount of hair. The rest should be secured with a clamp so as not to interfere. After wetting the strands of your future bangs, you can safely start cutting. The scissors should be held perpendicular to the strand, constantly checking the cut line.

Kare

As for more extravagant and dynamic bob haircuts, they can also be easily recreated at home. Everything can be done without the help of salon craftswomen. How to cut your own bob haircut? Now we'll tell you. Everything is done not so difficult. Wet hair must be divided along the line of the nose, then the front strands will become control. It is along them that the cut line will run. If the bob remains classic, then all strands must be kept equal to the control; if the option is more provocative - an asymmetrical bob, then the strands should be shortened on the way to the back of the head.

We cut with a clipper

Knowledge of machine haircuts will be no less practical. Seemingly simple, it can present an insidious surprise. How to cut your own hair with a clipper? This is quite easy to do. You should stand in front of a large mirror and figure out how much you need to shorten your hair. It's worth practicing with standard and simple men's haircuts- the back of the head and temples are short, and the upper part of the head is slightly longer. To do this, you need to test drive the machine from the top of the ear along the back of the head, and stop when it reaches the second ear. The upper part can be cut with a longer nozzle. Moving from the forehead to the back of the head.

Conclusion

Now you know how to cut your own hair. As you can see, everything is done quite simply. Good luck in your hairdressing business!

Beauty - how gem: the simpler it is, the more precious it is :)

Beauty has a close relationship with health, which is why hair that attracts attention and evokes admiration is thick, shiny, voluminous, and vibrant. Thin ends, which in addition have begun to split, will immediately ruin the image well-groomed girl, especially if she grows length. How to trim them evenly yourself and how often should you do this?

Why trim the ends of your hair?

Girls who are trying to grow the maximum length possible for themselves often perceive even the idea of losing a couple of millimeters negatively. They wonder why trim the ends of their hair if the silhouette of the hairstyle does not require monthly updating, and this does not affect the expected growth rate. This also applies to density.

Professionals are ready to talk about the benefits of regular hair cutting:

  • Maintaining a beautiful cut, which is important for any length.
  • Elimination of thinning that appears already at the length of the shoulder blades and below.
  • The tips are the “oldest” zone, which over time becomes absolutely lifeless and dry, even if it doesn’t try to split. Eliminating it is a way to maintain a healthy hairstyle.

How to trim your own ends

Not everyone has the opportunity to visit a hairdresser: lack of time, lack of a competent hairdresser, too high a cost. For such a situation, girls need to know how to properly cut their own ends while maintaining the silhouette of the original hairstyle. If your hair is long, it’s easy to trim it, but if you have short hair, it’s better to find a trusted salon: you won’t be able to carry out this procedure on your own at the back.

Experts tell you how to cut the ends of long hair correctly and evenly:

  • Only with professional scissors - no stationery ones.
  • Be sure to moisten slightly, but not so much that the water drips. For curly hair, a little more intense than for barely noticeable curls or straight hair.
  • Before cutting, smooth with a fine-toothed comb.

There are not many ways to trim the ends yourself:

  • In a straight line around the entire circumference.
  • In a cascade, over the tail thrown forward.
  • With tourniquets.

How to cut the ends of your hair beautifully

Regardless of the method you choose from those listed earlier, you need to properly organize your work area. There should be mirrors in front and behind that will provide you good review. Having all the tools will help you cut the ends of your hair evenly and beautifully: hairpins, clips, elastic bands, scissors (it’s good to have thinning scissors), and a thin comb. General scheme of actions using the example of length to the waist with an even cut:

  1. Gather a ponytail at the back of your head.
  2. Moisten the working area evenly and comb.
  3. Throw the ponytail over your shoulder, holding the end between your index and middle fingers.
  4. Place the comb parallel to the floor and trim the ends along it.
  5. Trim your hair, thin it if necessary (for thick hair).
  6. Remember to comb each strand all the way to the end before cutting a new section, and compare it with the neighboring ones.

How to cut the ends of long hair

This method is not suitable for maintaining a straight cut - it is oriented towards a ladder or cascade. Cutting the ends of long hair using this technology is very simple, ideal for wavy hair, but it is better not to do it on curly hair. The scheme is like this:

  1. Throw wet hair forward, tilting your head.
  2. Comb. If you need a parting, do it at the same stage.
  3. Determine the shape of the cut: diagonal on the right and left, converging in the center, will give a clear ladder. An even one will help make a beautiful soft cascade.
  4. How much to cut depends on the condition of the ends.
  5. Trim the cut, removing stray hairs (preferably with thinning scissors).

How to trim split ends along the entire length

If you do not need a preventive procedure, but rather the removal of dry areas that have begun to split, professionals advise resorting to the tourniquet method. The method is ideal for preserving long hair, because... no trimming is performed here. The only drawback: the procedure takes a long time and requires very thoughtful, slow actions.

You can trim split ends beautifully and neatly along the entire length like this:

  1. Wash your hair without (!) balms, masks, etc. Dry slightly.
  2. Divide wet, combed hair into several sections with horizontal and vertical partings. Gather most of it into a bun so it doesn't get in the way.
  3. Twist the strand with a thin, strong rope. Cut all the protruding split ends along it on a bias: almost straighten this line. Repeat until the desired result is obtained.

I’ll start with practical advice for those girls who always leave the beauty salon feeling upset:
1) Your hairdresser is not a telepath and can’t read thoughts either, so immediately speak clearly, loudly and very clearly about how many centimeters you want to remove, what cut you prefer and what scissors to use to cut your hair (regular or hot)! I’ll give you an example right away: I sit down in a chair and say that today I want to trim my hair by 2 centimeters with ordinary scissors, and make the cut in a semicircle.
2) There are such master pests who dream and see in order to remove more length from you, arguing that “it will be better this way, your ends are completely dead and cannot be restored, etc. I spent several years growing my hair and I know from myself how difficult it is to get every centimeter of length, so for such masters we make sure to emphasize and repeat several times before starting a haircut that you want to remove so much length and not a centimeter more! Only you can decide how many centimeters to remove, and the expert’s opinion is valid as a recommendation and advice from a professional.
3) Should I trim my hair with regular or hot scissors? I tried both methods and I can say the following - the hot scissors method allows you to “seal” split ends, this haircut gives your hair incredible smoothness and a look like in a shampoo advertisement. But the effect on my hair lasted about 2 weeks, and then completely disappeared. Trimming with hot scissors costs several times more than with regular scissors. In terms of time, this procedure also lasts longer than regular length trimming. In my salon, I pay 400 rubles for trimming with regular scissors, and about 1000 with hot scissors - the difference is quite significant, so now I choose regular scissors. Although, if your finances allow it, I recommend the trimming method with hot scissors.
4) Straight cut or semicircular cut, which is better to choose? For a long time I strived for an even cut. Unfortunately, on my direct and quite thick hair such a cut looked very “heavy”, especially in the photographs it seemed that the hair seemed to be chopped off, and I am cool about thinning the ends. A semicircle cut looks much more interesting, gives the image lightness and gives wide scope for experimentation with styling. The last time I chose a semicircular cut, and asked the strands near my face to be cut in steps, believe me, after such a haircut, the image is completely transformed and the hairstyle immediately takes on a shape.
5) How often should I trim my hair? I advise you to do this at least once every 2-3 months and remove about 2 cm of length. I used to put off going to the salon as long as I could. I had periods when I was obsessed with the idea of growing my hair as long as possible. For clarity, I’m telling a story about how I didn’t cut my hair for about 5 months, from the beginning of April to September of this year. Yes, I managed to achieve my goal and grow waist length, but let's take a closer look at the photos taken before trimming my hair. It is clearly visible that approximately 10 cm of the ends are not in the best condition - they are dry, stick out in all directions and look very sloppy, despite the fact that the hair in the photo is styled and straightened with an iron. I'm not even talking about combing - I decided to get a haircut when, despite regularly using moisturizing masks, oils and conditioning sprays, the comb got stuck somewhere in the middle of the length, my hair began to get very tangled, almost into tangles.

I went to the salon with the thought that I would remove 2-3 cm as usual and no more. But after looking at my hair in bright light and in a large mirror, I realized that I didn’t like my reflection, I didn’t like the way my fairly grown hair began to look, and I urgently needed to change something. As a result, I removed about 10 cm (!) of the length and made the cut in a semicircle, arranging the strands near the face in steps. Do you think I regretted this at least a little? On the contrary, I left the salon light and renewed, my hair became perfectly smooth, combed like clockwork, and the ends began to look very neat. The moral of this story: if I weren’t so keen on growing it out and visited a hairdresser more often, I wouldn’t end up having to remove so much length. By the way, more than two months have passed since such a “radical” trim, the hair has begun to grow very well and still looks well-groomed, but according to my “schedule” I have already scheduled the trim at the end of November.

And finally, I will share my “secret”, or rather a wonderful product that takes care of the ends and prevents split ends, which allows you to delay hair trimming.

Probably everyone has heard about this oil. this is actually just a find! I have already lost count of the number of times I buy this product. The oil has an affordable price, about 300 rubles, convenient packaging with a dispenser and is economically consumed. I use the elixir oil as follows: rub a small portion in my palms and apply to damp hair, starting from the ends and moving towards the middle of the length. The oil restores and nourishes the hair, gives it a well-groomed and neat appearance, and with regular use the oil really helps to trim the ends less often, but still you shouldn’t ignore this procedure

Thank you for spending this time with me. I hope that my experience and advice were useful to you and I wish all girls beautiful, well-groomed and healthy hair! I note that these are only my thoughts and I am not a hairdresser or a specialist, so if your opinion does not coincide with mine or you have something to say on the topic of hair trimming, I will be glad to chat in the comments!
