Strange products in cosmetics are not uncommon; We've seen everything from cuticle scrubs to two-phase lip glosses. But sometimes it happens that a manufacturer produces some kind of thing that I just needed for complete happiness, that solves its own special problems, and something “incomprehensible-strange” becomes a favorite tool. My most problematic area on the face (since childhood) is the eyes, so I am looking for new discoveries specifically among eye makeup products. And this is what I managed to find there some time ago: a primer for concealer and scourer area around the eyes.

Now I’ll explain what it is more clearly.

Generally speaking, it seems to me that a primer for concealer is something that simply begs to be created. After all, everyone often complains that concealers tend to run into the folds under the eyes, and powdering this area is a separate Calvary: you can add twenty years to yourself with just one gesture. Well, yes, almost all of us have it under our eyes. because of dryness and the subtlety of the skin there is a small network of wrinkles, not even wrinkles, but... a cobweb, in general. Well, I would like to smooth out this area before applying cosmetics. accessible ways. To begin with, of course, I advise you to never neglect moisturizing the skin around the eyes, but now we are talking about additional helpers.

About five years ago I discovered such an excellent product as, and I successfully use them under concealer - but of course, it is much more interesting to find a primer specifically targeted at our problems. So, to the description: firstly, Under Eye Primer moisturizes the skin, which in itself reduces wrinkles. In addition, it contains reflective particles that improve the camouflage of imperfections, as well as caffeine, peptides and other components that are designed to combat dark circles over a long period of time.

I decided to put aside my shyness and show the results of today's tests on myself, with all the imperfections of my skin. Let’s take the following initial data from a person who hasn’t had much sleep:

Under Eye Primer can be applied without concealer, just to lightly camouflage and smooth out the under-eye area. Honestly, in real life there is almost no difference, but in the photo the light reflection always shows itself better, although, of course, there was no flash here.

Despite the fact that the area is slightly brightened and leveled, for me this is not a “go-to” option. Although if you’re running somewhere on business, without makeup is a great option, I don’t argue. The concealer applies a little smoother to the Under Eye Primer, but the fillers still provide more pronounced filling and smoothing of wrinkles. Although they are heavier in consistency, of course.

Overall, this is a product for you if you don’t like fillers, or the problem with wrinkles under the eyes is not too pronounced, or you have very dark circles under the eyes. Yes, a reflective “base” will work great in tandem with concealer, and you won’t have white semicircles under your eyes even from a flash.

It is very difficult to describe the purpose of this remedy, especially since we don’t even have a suitable word for it: I’ll call it "bleeder" and I'll try to explain what I mean.

In general, you all probably know the meaning of the word blur, “blur,” which has been used among photographers for a long time without attempts at adaptation: just blur. As you can imagine, any blur effect hides imperfections, and Instablur Eye aims to do just that. It can be used either as a primer under concealer, since it not only gives a blur effect, but also fills in wrinkles (of course, this is our trusty silicone on guard), or as a light concealer on its own, because it is also tinted. But the shade is weak, and besides, there is only one - flesh-colored with a yellowish undertone.

Let's see what it gives when applied without additional concealers:

As you can see, the blurring and masking of imperfections is really noticeable, just compare it with the previous photos. It would seem like a super thing, I’ll only use it! But no, there are some “buts”.

The problem is that Instablur Eye doesn't blend very well. You need to take it very little at a time and carefully distribute it (preferably with your fingers, since such textures become more plastic from heat), smearing it somewhere, driving it in somewhere, and fight the lumps that form. And not every concealer is friendly with Instablur Eye, I’ll warn you right away. As you can see in the photo, you can still apply it well, but you have to put in some effort. Plus the yellowish undertone: although it is very light, it is not desirable for everyone.

So the remedy is ambiguous, you have to think and try.

On the left - Smashbox Under Eye Primer and The Body Shop Instablur Eye simply squeezed out drop by drop from the tube, on the right - slightly shaded (for application to the skin, of course, you need to take less of them and shade them more):

Pay attention to the small lumps of Instablur Eye in the first version: I deliberately did not remove them. This is exactly how it splashes, as if “snorting”, when squeezed out of the tube. Many blurry base “grouts” have a similar consistency: , . By the way, I love the last base very much, but it’s not always easy to shade it, and it spits when squeezed out, too, in a very rude manner.

Well, in the shaded version you can see the characteristic heterogeneity of Instablur Eye, which occurs with similar products. This is not exactly a drawback, but it is a feature that you need to be aware of.

The Lumene base does a good job of evening out the overall skin tone, slightly hiding the capillary networks on the eyelid, and instantly makes your look fresher and healthier. I still don’t fully understand what kind of beast this is: a base or a corrector? At first, I thought that this thing seemed to be universal, but that was not the case... The product really evens out the overall tone of the eyelid, but after literally 10 minutes it gets terribly caught in the folds! I was terrified! Deciding that I needed to find another use for the product, I tried to “cover up” the dark circles under my eyes. But even here this product did not impress me... It also got into the folds and emphasized them. Didn't excel in durability. I really regretted buying this base.
