Love online and in reality

The birth of the ideal hero

Nina Kiryanova stood at the window in her own room and looked out onto the street. The February day was wet, snowy and windy. The wooden slide in the children's town, usually pleasing to the eye with bright colors, seemed to have faded, covered with matte, rough ice. The wind threw small snow grains, and the railings of the slide turned white right before our eyes. But time passed too slowly. It seemed to the girl that she had come home from school almost last year and stood silently at the window for all twelve months. Seasons replaced each other, days flowed into nights, nights into mornings, and she still looked out the window, unable to move. Here! Even my feet began to tingle and my fingers, gripping the curtain, went numb.

Nina glanced at Wall Clock. Only twenty minutes had passed since she returned home. Very strange. Will she now always live in slow motion? Or did the clock just stop? The girl pulled out a cell phone from her school bag. No, that's right... She's only been home for twenty-two minutes. What is this? Why do these minutes crawl like snails?! However, it’s clear... Because she has nowhere to put herself! She doesn’t want anything: she doesn’t want to watch TV, or read, she doesn’t even want to go on the Internet. I'm tired of all! All!!! She doesn’t need minutes or hours... so they mock her.

Today the girls at school were bragging about their boyfriends again. Almost everyone has a friend. They're lying, of course. Take Svisyaeva... What guy would set his sights on her? Just the name makes you sick! And Dinka herself is not a beauty: short, somewhat wide, with a thin ponytail of hair of an indeterminate color, and there! Boy, you see, she has it! My name is Slavik! Ugh! Slaviki, Stasiki, Vadiki... Should a real guy have such a name?! Which one? Well... for example, Yaroslav! No, the Yaroslavs are called Yariks for short. Slavik - Yarik... one raspberry. Well... here's another good name - Igor! No, Igor is no good either... This name has no diminutive at all. Unless - Igor... Igoreshka. Igoreshka is a ladle, a nightmare! Not a single decent name...

However, it's not about the name. Now, if she, Nina, had a friend, she wouldn’t care what his name was... She could even agree to some Stasik. She would call him Stas. Stylish! And Vadik can be called Vadim. Although no, Vadim is somehow very mature, officially... But some Vadims, by the way, are called Dims. Yes! Dad has a friend who is Vadim, so he is Uncle Dima. Dima, Dmitry... Good name! Courageous. But it's too common. They have two Dimas in their class. So what? She would call her Dmitry, for example, Mitya... Ha! Yours! Where can I get it, my own? There is no one to look at in the class at all. Both Dimas are real nerds! And the rest are no better! In parallel classes, too, you can’t look at the guys without tears! Aww! Where are you real guys?

It seemed to Nina that she had been thinking about this question for quite a long time, and therefore the snail-like minutes must have crawled forward quite a bit. She glanced at her watch again and even stamped her foot in irritation. Only three minutes have passed. Only three! And there’s still a whole half day ahead! What are they for a person who has nowhere to put himself and whose body is all wrong?

She, Nina, has long existed in a state of imperishable mental stress. Previously, she lived for herself and lived quietly, went with the flow, without thinking much about anything. She was quite satisfied with the youth series “Schoolchildren” and girls’ glossy magazines. She always subscribed to their apps, from which she could cut out cardboard dolls and dress them in princess dresses. She had a whole collection of these dolls. But this August, after returning home from her grandmother, with whom she had been on vacation for two months, Nina took all the cardboard dolls to the garbage chute. Without any regret. They seemed very ridiculous, clumsy and tasteless to her. After that, Nina raked out bright hair clips in the shape of butterflies and hearts, multi-colored baubles, glass pendants, plastic earrings from all the drawers and sent this wealth after the dolls. She acted decisively and methodically. On their own initiative. She, without realizing it, seemed to be preparing for some new life, clearing her room of cheap trash, toys and stupid magazines.

For several months after this, Nina happily lived in a new and, as it seemed to her, almost adult life, enjoying the change in values. She cut off her hair, which she had always curled into tight curls. She got a stylish, asymmetrical haircut. The long side bangs, however, made it difficult to look at, but Nina easily put up with it. Not only beauty, but also style requires certain sacrifices. Instead of large plastic earrings, she now wore her mother’s silver roses with pink amethysts, and instead of her favorite bright crimson jacket with a trim, she wore a strict dark brown sheepskin coat, which she had previously been ashamed to wear even in severe frosts.

Her friends, of course, noticed the change that had happened to her. Some approved of this change, others did not, but Nina didn’t care. She also cut off almost all her friends, except Irishka Mikheeva, from herself in the most merciless manner, like cardboard dolls. They were angry and tried to weave intrigues behind her back, but there was nothing to weave them out of. Nina did not give the intriguers any reason. She simply studied with pleasure, read books that were now recommended to her not by her friends, but by her mother, and learned the intricacies of a new social Internet network under the funny name “Everyone is welcome!”

And after the New Year, Nina’s life for some reason went wrong. She suddenly realized that all the changes, by and large, were only external. Curls and haircuts are just options for hairstyles. Both plastic and silver are still earrings. The books my mother recommended are, of course, more interesting than girls' magazines, but they are about someone else's life. And her, Nina’s, life is still empty, boring and very monotonous: school, home, books, the Internet... and so on endlessly and without edge.

Nina somehow still put up with such meager fulfillment of life until she best friend Irishka suddenly didn’t fall in love overnight. And in whom! To Valerka Selivanov, with whom they studied together from the very first grade. Of course, Selivanov enjoyed great respect in the class, but his appearance, from Nina’s point of view, was no good. He had ugly blond hair and an indecently snub nose, but for some reason this didn’t bother Irishka at all. At the sight of Valerka, she either fainted, then blushed, then turned pale, until finally, at a New Year’s disco, she invited him to dance and in the most daring way confessed her ardent love. Selivanov, whom no girl had ever paid attention to as an object of desire, was so stunned by the unexpected happiness that now he would not let Irishka go anywhere. The lovers walked everywhere together, touchingly holding hands, and Nina was left alone. As they say, in your own interests. At first, she took up her studies with even greater zeal, especially focusing on physics, which she was not very good at, and one morning she suddenly woke up with a feeling of emptiness around her. Ringing. Cold. And what does she need this physics for? Why do you need everything at all if she is completely alone in it all? And the exhausting, endless days dragged on.

At school, time still passed somewhat faster than at home, but even among her classmates Nina now felt out of place. The guys seemed funny and petty compared to the heroes of the books they had recently read, and the girls seemed like stupid chickens, with only clothes and conversations about love on their minds. Even Irishka, ever since she fell in love with Selivanov, could not talk about anything other than her Valera. You'd think Nina would be interested in listening to this!

Although... if she could oppose Valera Irishkin to her friend... perhaps they would have found her with her friend common topics- they would discuss their relationships, they would boast, for example, about the gifts from their boyfriends... But there is no friend... no... And if not, maybe it’s worth inventing one? And what! She has already found a name for him - Dmitry, who can be called Mitya. Surname? No need for a last name... What is it for? What might Mitya look like? Well... how... He just has to look good! Let him be tall, slender, broad-shouldered, as befits real men, even young ones... And be sure to be dark-haired! Only Irishka can like chick blondes. Let Mitya’s eyes be gray so that… they contrast with her hair. It's so beautiful when clean hair looks out from under dark bangs. light eyes! Dark-haired people, of course, most often have brown eyes, but Mitya is not real... He is, so to speak... a virtual hero! Virtual, virtual... Virtual?! Exactly! Idea!

Self-doubt is a humiliating feeling, unfortunately, I know about it first-hand. Low self-esteem, doubt in physical and spiritual strength, fear of making independent decisions are the reasons that sometimes make you feel insecure. But the main source of indecision is depending on the opinions of others.

In my opinion, uncertainty suppresses a person, makes him a puppet in the hands of people with strong character.

This often happens in adolescence when a growing person realizes

Which does not correspond to the general “ideal”. During the period of growing up, literally everything is perceived critically: appearance, behavior, reasoning, and even one’s own opinion.

This thesis can be supported by specific arguments from the text of S. A. Lubenets, as well as from one’s own experience.

The writer talks about the experiences of Nina Kiryanova. Almost all classmates have boyfriends and brag about their relationships (sentences 2-4), but Nina does not young man. The girl believes that no one likes her and this depresses her.

But the schoolgirl is not ready to put up with this state of affairs, so she creates a fake one on the Internet.

The page of your “lover”. She comes up with his first name, last name, biography, and borrows a photo of a handsome brunette from her mother’s album. Now the virtual Dima will beautifully look after Nina, and some of her classmates will “become warped with envy”...

This deception reveals the heroine’s lack of confidence in her own merits.

Another example involves a friend of mine. Apparently, due to his complexes and his own “troubles,” he is quite shy: he doesn’t go anywhere with the guys, doesn’t participate in school events. Many peers consider him a bore.

I also adhered to the general opinion until I had to closely communicate with him in my studies. It turned out that the “bore” has an excellent sense of humor and is an interesting conversationalist. I hope that over time he will get rid of his complexes and understand that individuality is the most valuable human quality and you should not imitate someone.

These two examples show that insecurity in a person is most often born under the influence of the majority opinion. But it is necessary to realize that each person is unique and there is no need to strive to be like another, otherwise everyone will become the same, and life will lose its diversity.
