What is self-doubt?

I know firsthand about self-doubt... Doubt about my physical or spiritual strength, low self-esteem, stiffness and inability to make decisions on my own - these are the reasons why I sometimes feel insecure. However, the main reason for my insecurity is dependence on other people's opinions.

I think uncertainty eats a person alive, making him a puppet in the hands of an indifferent society. Most often this happens during the transition period: teenagers become unsure of themselves due to the fact that they do not correspond to the universal “ideal”. This applies to everything: appearance, behavior, one’s own opinion, often incorrect. I will prove this thesis with examples from the text of S.A. Lubenets and life experience.

Firstly, the girl Nina feels different from everyone else. She thinks that no one can please her, and this depresses her. Sentences 2-4 say that all her classmates have young men, but she doesn’t, so the girl decides to create a page for her ideal “lover” so that everyone knows that Ninochka is in great demand. This deception reveals her lack of self-confidence.

Secondly, one of my friends is a very constrained and uptight person because of his “troubles” and complexes. He doesn't talk much, doesn't participate in any activities, and doesn't go anywhere. Many people consider him a bore. That's what I thought too. One day we had to communicate a lot about our studies, and he turned out to be a very interesting conversationalist with a great sense of humor. I am sure that someday his “pressures” will go away and he will understand: individuality is the most important thing in a person, and you should not strive to be like anyone else.

Having considered two arguments, we found out that a person becomes insecure most often due to the influence of public opinion.
