How to organize a holiday and give everyone a great mood. End of Ramadan

Celebrating the occasion in a manner that pleases Allah and his Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)

The word “Eid” itself comes from the word “Awd” (“repetition”, “return”) - perhaps due to the repetition of the holiday every year, or because of the many rewards prepared by Allah Almighty for His slaves on this day, or from -for the return of joy upon his return. The word “al-fitr” means “breaking the fast.”

Allah Almighty replaced for Muslims the holidays that were celebrated during jahiliyya (the time of ignorance before the advent of Islam) with two big holidays Islam:

1) a holiday at the end of the holy month of Ramadan,

2) the holiday of sacrifice.

One of the significant features of the holiday was the performance of collective holiday prayer.

The performance of the festive prayer “Salatul Eid” was established in the second year of Hijri, and the first festive prayer that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed was the Eid al-Fitr prayer in the second year from the migration. Anas ibn Malik said that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Medina, the Ansar had two days on which they rejoiced and celebrated. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked them: what are these two days? They replied: These are the two days on which we rejoiced and celebrated during Jahiliya. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Truly Allah Almighty replaced these two days for you with the best other two days: the holidays of breaking the fast and sacrifice.”

Holiday prayer according to Shariah is sunatun muakkad (highly desirable prayer).

Also, some scholars said that the Eid prayer is “Farzul Kifayat” because of the greater attention and diligence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on its performance. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) never abandoned it until his death, and the companions after the death of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were zealous in its implementation, due to the fact that it is considered one of the signs of Islam.

It is advisable to perform the festive Eid prayer collectively, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed it, with all those who are obliged to perform Friday prayer. It is also advisable to perform Eid prayer individually for those who were unable to attend the collective prayer. Collective prayer is considered better for everyone, with the exception of the pilgrim performing the Hajj. For him, it is considered desirable to perform individual Eid prayer.

Eid prayer time

The time for performing Eid prayer begins at sunrise on the first day of the month of Shawwal, and it lasts until the lunch adhan of the same day. The hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported by Al-Bara ibn Azyb: “I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Truly, the first thing we start with today is performing prayer,” and the day begins with sunrise sun."

Anyone who missed performing the Eid prayer together with the imam, let him perform it alone, and his prayer will be considered complete if he managed to perform it before the lunch azan; if he did not have time, then he missed the time of its completion. But it is desirable for him to perform it as a compensatory prayer, since it is desirable to compensate for the Eid prayer, like other desirable prayers.

On a holiday, it is advisable to slightly postpone the performance of Eid prayer until the sun rises in height to the size of a standing bayonet. This is what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did.

This is the wisdom of the fact that on a holiday it is advisable to distribute zakat (obligatory alms) before performing the holiday prayer, and moving the prayer a little back expands the time for distributing alms - zakat.

Eid prayer consists of two rak'ahs. Companion Umar said: “The festive prayer of sacrifice consists of two rak’ahs, the festive prayer after the month of Ramadan also consists of two rak’ahs.”

Ethics and desirable actions on the day of the holiday

Bathing and cleanliness.

It is advisable to bathe on both holidays, just as one bathes on the day of Friday prayer. It is said that Abdullah ibn Umar “bathed on the holiday of Eid al-Adha before dawn.”

It is advisable for the person who will be present at the collective prayer to take a bath and for the person who cannot attend it. It is advisable to prepare for the holiday: shave hair from places where it is desirable to shave hair, cut nails, remove bad smell from the body and clothes. This is a holiday, and everything that is desirable to do on Friday is desirable.

Eating food.

It is advisable to eat something before Eid prayer on the holiday of Eid al-Adha. It is best to eat what a person eats on ordinary days, or dates; if a person does not find what is mentioned, it is advisable to eat on the road or at the place of prayer, if possible, in order to distinguish this day from other days.

The hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrated from Buraidat, says: “The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not leave the house on the day of Eid al-Adha without eating something...”.

Dressing in nice clothes.

It is advisable to wear your best clothes on a holiday. The best clothing color is white. Holidays, like Friday, are equal in desirability to wear beautiful clothes, on maintaining cleanliness, on incense, shaving hair, removing unpleasant odors.

It is also advisable for young children to participate in the holiday prayer together with their parents.

It is advisable for those who go to Eid prayer to go to the mosque on foot, unless there is a reason not to do so: for example, illness or the distance from the place where Eid prayer is performed, etc.

It is also advisable for those who go to Eid prayer to go to the mosque or the place where Eid prayer is performed one way and return by another way. It is advisable to go there the long way and return home the short way.

The presence of women at the holiday prayer.

It is advisable for women to attend the holiday prayer, except for those women who are beautiful. For those women who are beautiful and who attract the eyes of men because of their beauty, clothing or fragrance, it is not advisable for them to attend the holiday prayer.

In the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) it is said: “You do not keep the slaves of Allah Almighty from the houses of Allah Almighty, let them come out unscented with incense.”

Staying in worship on a holiday night.

It is advisable to enliven both holiday nights with worship: performing namaz, reading the Koran, remembering Allah Almighty (dhikr), turning to him with a prayer for forgiveness of sins or something else, praising the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) by reading salawat. This is how it is said in the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), told from Abu Umamat: “Whoever revives both holiday nights will not have a heart die on the day when hearts die.”

Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah Almighty have mercy on him) says: “It came to me that they say: truly, a prayer is answered in five nights:

1) on Friday night

2) on the night of Eid al-Adha

We should all strive to follow the path established by Islam and distance ourselves from all prohibitions so that Allah accepts our fasts and other services. May Allah accept our fasts and good deeds, illuminate our hearts with the light of iman and make us one of His righteous slaves. Amen!

According to the madhhab of Imam Abu Hanifa, the holiday prayer is wajib. Of both holiday prayers, the one performed on the day of sacrifice is preferable, for it is mentioned in the Koran. It is more preferable to perform this prayer collectively in the mosque, but you can also perform it yourself.

The holiday prayer has two rak'ahs. The time for its completion begins at sunrise and continues until the time when it is at its zenith.

Sunnat of Eid Prayer

1. Delay its completion until the time when the sun rises to the height of a spear. It is advisable to postpone the prayer of the holiday of breaking the fast until the time when the sun rises to the height of two spears.

2. Perform it in a mosque, if everyone can fit in it, and if not, then in an open area. By madhhaband mother Abu Hanifa preferably his commit on open terrain. And if prayer is performed in a mosque, then it is advisable for women to stand at the door and listen to the sermon.

3. Spend the previous night in vigil. If a person performed worship during most of the night or performed evening, night and morning prayers in the jamaat, then this is counted as an all-night vigil.

4. Perform complete ablution. The time for it to take place begins at midnight.

5. Scent yourself with incense and put on beautiful clothes. This is desirable for children and adult males. Women, if they are older, will come to prayer in ordinary clothes. And young or beautiful women It is not advisable to go to prayer in a mosque, but it is preferable to perform this prayer at home.

6. Go early to prayer (except for the imam).

8. Give alms along the way.

9. Eat a little before the prayer of breaking the fast and do not eat before the prayer of sacrifice.

Method of committing

The holiday prayer has two rak'ahs, and the intention to perform it is made as follows: “I intend to perform the desired holiday prayer of breaking the fast in two rak’ahs in the name of Allah (following the imam)”.

After pronouncing "Allahu Akbar" before entering prayer, it is advisable to read the prayer “vajjahtu”, then it is advisable to raise your hands seven times as when entering prayer and say "Allahu Akbar" , and after six say a prayer . And after the seventh "Allahu Akbar" you should read Surah al-Fatihah. (If the collective prayer is read aloud by the imam first, and the mammums read it later). After Surah al-Fatiha, it is advisable to read Surah al-Kaaf or Surah al-A'la.

In the second rak'ah after reciting "Allahu Akbar" when getting up for the second rak'ah, it is advisable to pronounce it in the above-mentioned way "Allahu Akbar" and say a prayer “Subhana llahi walhamdu lillahi wa la ilaha illallahu wallahu akbar” after four, and after the fifth, read Surah Al-Fatihah. After Surah Al-Fatiha, it is advisable to read Surah Al-Kamar, or Al-Gashiya.

If the prayer was a collective one, after it two khutbahs should be read with the same conditions that should be observed for the khutbahs of Friday prayer.

If a person cannot perform prayer in the above-mentioned way, he makes an intention for the holiday prayer and performs the usual desired prayer of two rak'ahs.

And since the Eid prayer occurs once a year, a Muslim should not neglect it, and if he missed it for a good reason, it is advisable for him to make up for it.

Holiday prayer according to the madhhab of Imam al-Shafii

(Salat-ul-‘id)

Salat-ul-‘Eid is a festive two-rakaat sunnat prayer performed on the day of Eid al-Adha (and Kurban Bayram) about an hour after sunrise. The time of its performance should be checked with the imam of the mosque the day before.

‘Eid prayer can be performed at home, but men should perform it in the mosque with other believers. It is advisable to go to the mosque along one road and return along another, for this is what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did.

Before performing the ‘id-namaz, they say the niyat: “I intend to perform two rak’ah holiday sunnat prayers on the occasion of ‘Eid-ul-Fitr (Uraza-bairam (sunnat-‘id-namaz)) in the name of Allah Almighty.” If prayer is performed with other Muslims, then “together with the jamaat” or “behind the imam” is added to the niyat.

Following the niyat, they immediately say “Allahu Akbar” and, raising their hands to ear level, begin to pray. Who knows, at the beginning of the prayer, as usual, he reads the prayer “Wajakhtu”. At the end of this prayer, again raising their hands, they say “Allahu Akbar”, then, lowering their hands and placing them on their stomach (as when reading Surah “Fatiha”), they read:

“SubhIanallagyi val hIamdu lillagyi wa la ilagya illa lagyu vallagyu akbar.”

After reading this prayer, they again raise their hands and say “Allahu Akbar”, then, as the first time, they read the same prayer. And so “Allahu Akbar” is said seven times and the prayer is read six times. Then after the seventh “Allahu Akbar” they read “A’uzu...” and Surah “Fatiha”. Then everything is done as in a regular prayer. In the second rak'ah, before reading Surah Fatiha, they again say "Allahu Akbar" and read the same prayer in the same way as in the first rak'ah, but only five times (the prayer is four times).

In both rakats, after Surah Fatiha, it is advisable to also read something from the Koran. The best thing in the first rak’ah is “Kaaf”, in the second – “Iqtaraba”, and who doesn’t know, in the first – “Kul ya aiyugyal kafirun”, in the second – “Kulgyu” (“Ikhlas”).

Whoever performs ‘Eid prayer at home, it is better to perform it in jamaat (collectively) together with the rest of the family (wife, children, mother, sisters, etc.).

‘It is advisable to perform Eid prayer for those who are on the road.

Whoever does not know the above prayer can perform the usual two-rakah sunnat prayer, having the niyat to perform the ‘Eid prayer.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When the holiday prayer was completed, one of the angels said: “Let everyone know that the Lord has forgiven you. So return to your homes with joy. Today is reward day.” And this too is proclaimed in heaven.”

Those for whom Friday prayers are obligatory must also perform holiday prayers. Those for whom Friday prayers are not obligatory, such as women and children, are not required to perform holiday prayers.

There are 5 conditions for performing holiday prayer: mysr (presence of a city or large village), iznu ‘am (public accessibility of the place), imam, collective, time.

The time for holiday prayers is counted from the moment when the sun, after sunrise, rises to a height of three arshins until the midday prayer.

If, for a good reason, the ‘Eid al-Fitr prayer was not recited on the first day of the month of Shawwal, it can be performed on the second day, but not on the third.

The holiday prayer consists of 2 rak'ahs, but unlike the Friday prayer, it is read without adhan and iqama and is always collective.

At the ‘Eid al-Fitr prayer, the intention is made as follows: “I intend to read 2 rakats of the ‘Eid al-Fitr prayer, I follow this imam. For the sake of Allah Almighty. Allahu Akbar."

The holiday prayer is read as follows: after the intention, the takbir is pronounced, then both the imam and those standing behind him read the sana (praise), after 3 times in a row, raising their hands to the earlobes, they say the takbir. Hands are lowered between takbirs and not placed on top of each other. Then the imam, as in other prayers, reads the surahs aloud, bows to the ground and bows to the ground, and again stands on the kyyam of the second rak'ah and reads the surahs loudly. After this, having finished reading, as in the first rak'ah, he raises his hands three times and says takbir, and on the fourth takbir he lowers himself into a bow. After bowing to the ground and bowing to the ground, he finishes the prayer as usual.

A person who is delayed but has time for prayer before the imam says greetings finishes his prayer on his own. If the latecomer did not have time to join the imam before the greetings, then he should not read the prayer himself, since the holiday prayer has no replenishment.

After performing the prayer, the imam twice reads a sermon and instructions to the people, which tell about the duties of a Muslim on the day of Eid al-Fitr, as well as the Sunnah of the Prophet associated with this day.

It is reported that Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “I saw how on a holiday the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed without saying the call to prayer before addressing (the people) with a sermon. And then he stood up, leaning on Bilal, and commanded (the people) to beware of the punishment of Allah Almighty and urged them to submit to Him. He admonished the people and reminded them (of Allah) and then began to leave. Having reached the women, he began to admonish them and remind them (of Allah), after which he said: “O women, give alms, for truly you will make up the majority of the inhabitants of Gehenna.” Then one of the women with tanned cheeks stood up and said: “Why, O Messenger of Allah?!” Then he replied: “This is because you complain a lot and show ingratitude (towards) your husbands.” And then they began to give out their jewelry as alms, throwing their earrings and rings on Bilal’s clothes.”- [al-Bukhari, 978; Muslim, 885].

In Friday prayer, one of the conditions was sermon; in Eid prayer, preaching is sunnah. If in Friday prayer the sermon is read before the obligatory prayer, then in the holiday prayer the sermon is read after the prayers. It is reported that ′Abdullah ibn ′Umar, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), as well as Abu Bakr and ‘Umar, performed Eid prayers before the sermon.” - [al-Bukhari, 963; Muslim, 888].

In a hadith narrated from Jabir bin Nafir, it is narrated: “When meeting on the holiday of Eid, the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to each other: “May Allah accept from us and from you.”

So let us believe and hope in the mercy of the Almighty, asking Him for forgiveness, that our fasts and good deeds in this holy month of Ramadan will be accepted.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

The heart of the one who is busy with worship on two holiday nights will not die on the Day when hearts are dead (Judgment Day). (Tabarani)

The nights leading up to the Feast of Breaking the Fast and the Feast of Sacrifice provide an opportunity that should be taken advantage of by performing worship and showing respect. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that these nights are a good opportunity to perform divine services and achieve the closeness and special mercy of the Almighty. You should not miss them because of laziness and idleness. One must take full advantage of the opportunity presented by diligently worshiping Allah, asking Him for forgiveness, reading the Qur'an, additional prayers, saying salawat, etc.

Among the rewards that will follow for these actions, the greatest is the one that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told us about in the above hadith, that is, the heart will not be struck with horror and fear on the Day of Judgment.

Sunnahs of the Feast of Breaking the Fast

1. Get up as early as possible (in fact, a significant part of this night should be spent in worship).

2. Take a bath (perform ghusl).

3. Clean your mouth with miswak.

4. Apply etr (non-alcoholic halal perfume).

5. Put on best clothes from those available, meeting the requirements of Islam and the Sunnah.

6. Before leaving for the holiday prayer, eat something sweet (for example, dates).

7. Arrive at the place where the holiday prayer is performed as early as possible.

8. Before arriving there, give fitr alms.

9. It is better to perform the festive prayer not in the mosque, but in the areas designated for this prayer (they are called the word “idgah”). But the elderly and sick can easily perform the holiday prayer in the mosque. Not only illness and weakness, but also rain is a valid reason for performing Eid prayer in the mosque.

10. Return from the place of prayer in a different way (not the way you came).

11. Walk to the prayer site. But if it is far away, then you can use transport.

Some rules regarding Eid prayer

1. If a person joined the holiday prayer when the imam had already pronounced the holiday takbirs, then the takbirs should be said immediately after entering the prayer. But if a person enters namaz when the imam is preparing to bow in ruku (waist bow), and the latecomer fears that he will not have time to join the imam in ruku if he begins to pronounce takbirs while standing, then he should pronounce takbirs while already in ruku, refusing tasbiha in hand. But while pronouncing takbirs in the hand, there is no need to raise your hands, as is done when pronouncing takbirs while standing.

If the imam leaves ruku, and the latecomer has not yet completed the recitation of the takbirs he missed, he should stop reciting the takbirs and leave ruku, following the imam. In this case, the takbirs that he did not have time to pronounce do not need to be pronounced.

2. If a person missed a rak'ah in the holiday prayer, he should make up for it as follows: after the imam completes the salamah, the worshiper must get up and perform one rak'ah on his own, reciting the verses of the Koran and takbirs. The rest of the rak'ah is completed as usual.

Performing Eid prayer

The festive prayer on Eid-ul-Fitr is performed on the 1st day of the month of Shawwal. It consists of two rak'ahs and two sermons (khutb). It is very similar to Friday prayer, but there are several differences:

- during Friday prayers, the khutbah is pronounced before two rak'ahs are performed, and on a holiday - vice versa: first two rak'ahs are performed, and then two khutbahs follow;

First rak'ah

After everyone has accepted the intention, the imam pronounces the opening takbir (“Allahu akbar”) and begins the festive prayer. Everyone raises their hands to their earlobes and folds their hands under the navel. After some time, the imam pronounces three takbirs, one after another with short pauses (“Allahu akbar”). We raise our hands and lower them at the seams after the first and second takbir, and after the third we fold our hands under the navel. Next, the imam recites Surah Fatiha, followed by a passage from the Koran. Then he makes bows and bows to the ground and rises to the second rak'ah.

Second rak'ah

The imam recites Surah Fatiha and a passage from the Koran and is now ready to move to ruku (waist bow). Exactly before moving to ruku, he pronounces the remaining three takbirs with short pauses, each time lowering his hands to his sides. When the imam pronounces the 4th takbir, he goes into ruku, then bows to the ground as usual. After tashahhud (sitting and reading “At-tahyyyatu...”) and salaam, the worshipers remain seated awaiting the imam’s khutb.

Saying the khutbah

After two rak'ahs, the imam stands up to pronounce the khutbah. It is sunnah for the imam to begin the first khutbah with nine takbirs, and the second with seven. It reminds Muslims of their duties towards Allah, towards themselves and their brothers in faith. The Muslim holiday is a day of happiness and joy. It can be fully appreciated if we throw out enmity, hatred and past grievances from our hearts.
