There was a package offer including a 30% discount on hall rental for 6 hours, service, decoration of chairs and tables, decorative skirt, decorative arch with lighting, rental of lighting equipment, fruit processing, unlimited tea and coffee, rental of sound equipment, packaging of food after the banquet and candelabra with candles. We paid about 30,000 rubles for it.
Additionally, we ordered a chocolate fountain for the buffet, which included 1.5 kg of fruit and marshmallows. Fruits for the buffet and banquet were not included in the menu and were purchased independently.
After the wedding, we interviewed the guests and found out the following.
1. The fruit at the buffet table was only from the chocolate fountain - 1.5 kg. The champagne purchased specifically for the buffet was not all bottled. As a result, the buffet turned out to be quite modest; not all guests were able to eat.
2. In the buffet area there was a board on which, we believe, the wedding date should have been written and guests could leave their wishes to the newlyweds. It showed the date of the previous wedding – 09/30/2017. We consider this attitude to be completely disrespectful; at a minimum, this inscription should have been removed.
3. At the beginning of the banquet there was no sparkling wine on the tables at all (despite the fact that three bottles were purchased per table). Sparkling wine appeared on the tables only at our request.
Some guests drank only dry red wine; it was not on the tables, and upon their request they were told that there was no dry red wine. In fact, it was bought, and we found it in the alcohol left after the banquet.
4. The food was less than the stated weight, approximately 700-800 g, as indicated in the previous review of our wedding by Dmitry, one of the guests.
“The seating plan was provided to us 2 hours before the event, where it turned out that there was an uneven number of guests sitting at each table (somewhere there were 5, 6 people, and somewhere there were 10 people), and the kitchen had already laid out the food in equal quantities, so and it turned out that at the table of 5 people there was an abundance of food, and at the table of 10 there was less, although the total weight of the banquet was respected,” DST employees write in their response to Dmitry.
However, Dmitry was sitting at a table of five people (table No. 2) and did not notice the abundance of food. Additionally, there were three children at tables #5 and 6 (tables with the most guests) and two of the adults did not attend the wedding, but there was still little food.
We are not talking about the fact that the guests left hungry! But the food was less than the stated weight, almost all the guests noted this. There are no complaints about the quality of the food; the food was varied and tasty.
5. The plates were taken away without asking the guests (both salads and hot dishes), despite the fact that the food was not finished. No one was asked about hot food preferences.
6. Fruit appeared on the tables only at the request of the parents. Not everyone had a fruit container; there was nowhere to put waste (pits, peels).
7. All the guests did not like the work of the waiters. We had to wait a long time if we needed anything. We believe that 3 people for 50 guests (including newlyweds and children) is a minus.
8. “Of the advantages of our hall, it is also worth noting that there is no volume limit after 22:00 and, as we remember, the banquet at which you were dancing until 01:00,” DST employees write in their response to Dmitry.
We paid 10,000 rubles for dancing until 1 am. (for 2 hours of extension), so we don’t know why this is a plus; the possibility of extending the banquet was considered initially and was agreed upon.
9. Guests were not offered coffee or tea during the banquet, so we consider it incorrect to include unlimited tea and coffee in the package offer. Perhaps the newlyweds were supposed to offer drinks?
Unfortunately, the above-mentioned disadvantages/disadvantages/shortcomings identified as a result of a survey of guests did not allow us to be satisfied with the wedding banquet.
