What to wear with powder-colored ladies' gloves. Powder color in clothes

“Powdery” color is a very fashionable phrase, but what is behind it? This is the common name for shades that remind us of the colors of face powder - from ivory to café au lait. The color of powder in clothes helps to make any look sophisticated and feminine, but you should understand that every woman has her own shade.

Secrets of shades

Powdery shades are a whole group of colors. They all come from the beige range: this includes ivory, yellowish-beige, pink-beige, and brownish shades. In addition, recently shades of lilac, gray, blue - muted, as if “powdered” or dusty - have also been officially included in the “powdery” category.

As a guide, you can look at the famous “Meteorites” powder from Guerlain. The jar contains balls of various colors, but they are all, of course, “powdery”.

With the help of these colors you can create a huge number of images - from delicate to hooligan. Powdery tones fit into office style, romantic sets, casual, vintage, and many other styles. What does powder go with? There are several general rules. All powdery colors will look great with white.

Black color also goes well with delicate shades, but you should be careful with it, because... black makes the look too simple.

An interesting combination can be created by combining a powdery shade with a brighter one from the same color range, for example, powdery pink with pink, dusty yellow with sand, a fashionable baby blue shade with deep blue.

Stylists do not recommend making a total look from powdery flowers. This outfit looks very pale and requires a bright accent. Therefore, if you have chosen a dress and shoes of a delicate color, make sure that the accessories are in deeper tones.

Things of any of the powdery colors look great in combination with denim.

In evening fashion

At the peak of popularity over the last few seasons are evening or cocktail dresses in muted light shades.

Ash pink, “dusty rose”

An ideal choice if you truly love “girly” pink, but don’t want to look like Barbie. In this color, figure-hugging floor-length dresses, cocktail dresses with a fluffy skirt, and high-waisted Greek-cut dresses look great. It is best to choose accessories from white gold, silver, and transparent stones.

Flesh, nude

An important detail - flesh is not just “beige”. Here you need to choose a shade that best suits your skin color (yes, for dark-skinned girls “nude” is considered coffee!). Because in such a dress it is easy to be considered immodest. It is better that it does not have a deep neckline or cuts that run the length of the entire leg. The ideal accessories for a nude dress are classic yellow gold or gold-colored jewelry.

Muted coral

A wonderful shade for those who, for some reason, are afraid to wear a provocative red dress, but still want to be bright. This color conveys all the richness of coral, but it seems to be covered with frost or sprinkled with powder. Accessorize with gold jewelry or pearls.

Melon

The soft yellow color is a subtle alternative to lemon. Yellow color can hardly be called “evening”, but the melon shade creates a light, elegant and non-trivial image. Perfect for dark-skinned girls!

Baby Blue

“Baby Boy Romper Color,” as it is sometimes called, is incredibly romantic! Ruffles, flounces, frills - all this looks great in soft blue, reminiscent of waves or clouds. Accessories can be selected in white, silver or blue.

Mint

Very fashionable color! And although mint leaves are bright green in life, we call the delicate and muted turquoise color “mint.” For several seasons in a row we see it not only in clothes, but also in collections of decorative cosmetics, shoes, etc. Most suitable for fair-haired girls.

On every day

All these beautiful shades will look great in other situations. If you want to add some softness to your business look, and this is not prohibited by the dress code, replace the strict white blouse with a pinkish or beige one. A brown skirt or trousers will maintain a business style, but will hint at a romantic nature.

On Friday, you can easily afford a relaxed look with a bluish blouse with frills and stylish dark blue trousers with a high waist.

The color of powder in clothes is good not only for blouses and dresses. For example, a skirt or trousers of this color, even with the strictest cut, will make any office look elegant and solemn.

Classic blue jeans go perfectly with powder sweaters, cardigans, and jackets.

A coat in powdery shades of beige - in a variety of cuts and styles - will look great on city streets. What bag can this coat be combined with? Stylists recommend brown first, then black or red. For casual looks, a voluminous and soft bucket bag or shopper would be ideal. For a business look, you should choose a hard bag, an envelope clutch or a small ladies' briefcase.

Since all powdery shades are soft and washed out, there is always a risk of looking pale when wearing such an outfit. Cold tones - lilac, mint, bluish - have the unpleasant property of emphasizing redness on the face and circles under the eyes.

It is very important to choose the right powder shades. Who suits these colors? Here's what fashion experts advise:

  • Cool shades of powdery colors (blue, green) suit fair-haired girls with light eyes and fair skin.
  • Shades of beige and nude look better on brunettes.

  • Shades of pink: lighter for fair-haired and fair-skinned people, “dusty” and grayish for brown-haired and brunette women.
  • Girls with a contrasting appearance (Winter color type), when choosing powder-colored clothes, definitely need to make bright accents - large earrings, a bright necklace or quite noticeable makeup. This will preserve the natural brightness of the colors.

Trying on outfits in subtle colors should be done in as much natural light as possible to clearly see how the clothes match the skin.

However, it is not the color of one item that makes an image, but its combination with other wardrobe items. So these tips are just a guide. The rest will be shown by the mirror and your inner feeling.

For several seasons in a row, powdery color in clothes does not want to lose its position in the list of the most fashionable trends. Why was the color called powdery? Precisely because the clothes use fabrics and accessories in shades of cosmetic powder. Which one? Shades of bronzer, concealer, pink or ivory? The answer is everything.

Nowadays, it is becoming less and less common to see wedding processions where the bride is not dressed in the usual snow-white dress, because a powder-colored wedding dress, be it a flesh tone or a super-fashionable baby blue shade, is the object of desire for every fashionista bride. As for everyday, cocktail or evening dresses, powdery color managed to take a leading position here too.

How to choose a powder-colored dress and what to wear it with?

A huge number of fabrics are available in this trendy color. Dresses in powdery shades made of chiffon and guipure look great. If the dress model suits you, pay more attention to the color of the fabric itself. Blondes with fair skin and eyes will be more suited to blue and green powdery shades, as well as a shade called “doll pink”; brunettes will be more suited to bronze, beige and nude shades. A powder-colored dress goes well with the following shoe and accessories options:

  1. Shoes or ballet flats to match the dress.
  2. Accessories that will not disrupt the overall color scheme, but will attract attention (for example, a chocolate or gold belt for a flesh-colored dress).
  3. The jewelry should perfectly match the color of the dress. If the shades are cool (“baby blue”, “water coral”, “transparent peach” or “doll pink”), earrings and a pendant in silver will fit perfectly into the overall picture of lightness, playfulness and femininity, with dresses in warm shades (bronze, nude, beige, “nude”), stylists recommend purchasing gold-colored jewelry; they will emphasize the naturalness and naturalness of the image.

If you know what powder color goes with, you can easily and happily choose a great look, providing yourself with many admiring glances and compliments. Basic colors that can be used in accessories, jewelry, jewelry and will not spoil your “powdery look”:

  • milk chocolate;
  • gold;
  • lilac;
  • soft lemon;
  • mint;
  • lactic.

What goes with powdery color in clothes?

Our answer is s. All these colors can get along well with each other, but their number in the mix should not exceed two. Thus, the beauty of a powder-colored dress, for example, the shade “pink ash,” will be emphasized by a pale lilac belt, but a mint-colored clutch will already spoil the wonderful tandem.

It is very fashionable to use powdery shades in everyday clothes. For example, jeans in the color of mint or aquatic coral can “make friends” with plain sneakers, guipure espadrilles or slip-ons.

These fashionable shades love to show off in light, translucent fabrics. For example, a powder-colored skirt, represented by a chiffon model with ruffles and frills, will look better and more harmonious than a model made of heavy fabric or eraser. Such a light and weightless skirt will be perfectly supported by a powder-colored clutch of the same shade. Moreover, the fabric from which it is made should also not be heavy (corduroy, velor); a light floral print in pastel colors is acceptable.

Powder-colored shoes, preferably plain ones, would also come in handy here; the shade should not be very different from the skirt either. The heel is not medium, only high, wedge, or with a low sole. If you prefer to see sneakers on your feet, then they should also emphasize the lightness and transparency of the image; guipure will cope with this task perfectly.

Many people probably noticed that at the 2014 Oscars there were stars in powder-colored dresses. This is not to say that they looked terrible, but the fact that Julie Delpy, Jessica Bill and Cate Blanchett wore dresses in this shade and did not add a bright accent was a big mistake. So the question arose, what to wear with powder color to look stylish, fashionable and bright!

Powder color: repulsive or attractive?

It is this color that can play into the hands of the chosen image, because it is elegant, noble and feminine, it gives youth and romanticism, it will look perfect on tanned skin, and can turn a girl into a faceless and inconspicuous creature, so you need to know the rules with what wear powder color.

What to wear with powder color?

It looks perfect for creating an office style, for a romantic walk or for going out.

Tender lady in the office

If you have dark skin or have just returned from vacation, where you acquired a bronze tan, then the color of powder in your wardrobe will highlight the beauty of your body. By the way, you don’t have to choose bright accessories – leather is the main advantage. You can wear a beautiful pinkish trouser suit or a naked body, or choose a beautiful bodysuit made of delicate lace - you will be gorgeous and sexy. If you prefer to wear blouses or beautiful shirts under a jacket, then let them be chiffon or satin, maybe in a bright shade or in calm tones.

Blondes should choose the powdery color in their clothes with caution, paying attention to the shade of their own skin, otherwise they can blend in with a business suit. Be sure to purchase bright accessories or complement the look with floral prints, for example, a powder-colored skirt and jacket, a blouse with brown or dark green flowers, circles or other patterns, and tan-colored tights.

Romantic young lady

For those who want to look younger when going on a romantic date, you should definitely choose a powder-colored wardrobe. This color is delicate and feminine, it gives airiness. Buy a dress with a round collar, slightly flared at the bottom, match it with nude-colored shoes, such as ballet flats, put discreet bracelets on your wrists and choose a bag and belt of the same color, for example, a dark blue bracelet with black stones, a dark blue belt and a black bag with dark blue hands. You can choose any shade of accessories and hair clips for a romantic powder-colored dress, but not too bright! They will look flashy, which does not at all suit the image of Turgenev’s girl. Don’t forget about the appropriate hairstyle - curls or selected hair, decorated with a bow or headband.

The publication

The powder itself is mysterious - it is light and weightless, so if you want to excite and attract attention, then buy a dress for a social party in powder color of any shade. It can be cocktail, or it can be floor-length, it can be made of satin or lace, decorated with beads, sequins, or just a beautiful bow. It can be a jumpsuit that suits your figure, the main thing is that you feel confident and stylish in it. Choose beautiful jewelry, as well as a belt, shoes and handbag. They can be a couple of shades darker than your main outfit, or they can be radically different from it - it all depends on your desire - a romantic girl or a bright person. Play with powdery shades to get the best look.

Of course, powder color is unique, it suits everyone, but you just need to find your shade and choose accessories that match your chosen look to look stylish and fashionable!

Looking through the collections for the spring-summer season this year, I noticed that designers quite often used powdery color in looks, also known as beige or nude (that is, nude). Many offer total nude kits and they look amazing.
This color gives femininity and lightness; if you want to create a romantic and airy mood, then a powder-colored blouse or dress is your best assistant.

I have selected several looks from designer brands, including Russian ones, which can be ordered right now (some even at a discount), and also compiled several Look sets with comments for inspiration.

I don’t divide people into color types, so I never risk saying that this or that color will/will not suit brunettes and so on. The main thing is to choose your shade, and powder color is no exception. It all depends on you - look carefully in the mirror, soberly evaluate the reflection, and if in doubt, continue your search.

For example, I have brown hair and skin with an olive undertone, and for a long time I was convinced that nude categorically did not suit me, since powdery and warm beige shades made me pale. But one day I tried on something with a cool pink undertone and was amazed at how transformative this color was.

Let me note that wearing a nude color requires following certain rules if you want to look attractive and not funny.
The most important thing is the degree of fit; there should be a distance between your body and clothing. Nude is the color of a naked body, so the contours of the figure should be hidden in order to avoid vulgarity. No details of physiology, elastic bands from underwear, etc. shouldn't be visible. This is especially true for skirts and trousers. And please, no flesh-colored leggings, at least not with crop tops, these leggings are a pest, they really look like you forgot to put on clothes. Yes, it attracts attention, but believe me, you don't need that kind of attention!

Powdery color goes with almost everything and can be the base for both modest and bright looks. This is what I tried to demonstrate in the examples below.

This image is the calmest in terms of color scheme; here the nude looks quite bright next to black and gray and makes the set lighter and more noble. I chose shoes with flat soles, and besides, these sneakers match the color of two elements of the image at once (this option is difficult to choose, so when choosing the color of shoes, it is better to focus on the color of the jacket). There is a simple formula here - a necklace and shoes to go with a jacket, a handbag to go with a top, and a black skirt (leather or not, it doesn’t matter) doesn’t need company.

This look is very bold, red trousers are a challenge in themselves. Here I added a coat-vest in beige and orange tones. The shirt is just a neutral background. The formula for combining accessories is shoes with a coat, a handbag with trousers.

This is my favorite look as I love the combination of blue and white. This dress itself is quite catchy - a tight-fitting silhouette, a neckline. Very feminine, but I decided to give the dress a different character. Oddly enough, I was guided by the color of the belt; a thin white belt here sets the right accents. A vest and shoes go with it. The blue handbag looks great as the only bright spot, but I wanted to add a subtle blue decoration. In general, I like to choose accessories in this way - from a bracelet, to earrings, sometimes even to nail polish.

A simple yet stylish everyday look. The trousers are not tight-fitting, with a straight silhouette. I paired them with a khaki sweater and the same bag. The idea here is obvious - the bag and sweater are the same color, and it can basically be any color you want. Shoes that match the trousers will look very interesting. A light accent is a brooch in the shape of an owl, or any other brooch of your choice.

Powdery color is as easy a mystery as a thin veil of powder. It is generally accepted that this includes shades close to the color of the skin and blush. Other names for this palette are often found on the covers of fashion publications: nude, beige, natural, nude... But now this also officially includes the incredibly fashionable “baby blue” and other delicate, as if powdered, blue, gray and green colors. Let's try to understand the nuances and determine what to wear powdery color with.

Focus on yourself

Natural colors suit everyone without exception and can be used in all components of the wardrobe. How to choose “your” powder color in clothes? Depending on the color of your skin and hair, you need to choose different shades. Blondes with light eyes and skin will look great in clothes of green and blue, as well as coral shades of powder. For brunettes, win-win options are natural, beige or bronze. The latter is especially true if your skin is tanned. There are exceptions to this rule: for example, brunettes with dark eyes and cool skin will look great in powder blue clothes.

An equally important point that should be immediately taken into account: we always select golden accessories for warm shades of powder color, and complement cold ones with the shine of silver jewelry. If you adhere to this rule, it is impossible to make a mistake. The look that comes out of a combination of these colors will be elegant, feminine and airy. It doesn’t matter whether you came up with an evening or everyday outfit.

You can either stick to one shade in your look or test combinations of powdery colors. And not only within this palette, but also with other colors. Look great with natural shades of gold, light lemon, mint, lilac, light brown. Using them, you will place accents in the image, but will not disturb the impression of weightlessness.

How to choose the right powder-colored dress

When choosing a dress, first of all pay attention to whether the style suits you, whether it emphasizes the beauty of your figure and hides flaws. This is important, since the color will enhance the impression, and the “cons” if chosen incorrectly will be even more visible.

Recently, powder color has been very popular among brides: instead, the young bride often goes to the wedding in an ivory or baby blue outfit. Dresses in natural shades look good both for daytime and evening wear.

For the evening, choose a dress with a complex cut, knee-length or floor-length. Outfits of this color scheme, decorated with beadwork, with lace inserts, or containing all of them, also look beautiful. Neutral colors allow you to experiment, but an ornate dress is best paired with simple accessories and shoes. It is worth choosing them to match the dress or in a neutral color - black, for example.

Daytime dresses should be a little more reserved. If you want to create a look in one color or several shades of it, go for a dress with a simple cut. If it almost blends with the skin color, it is better to choose a textured fabric - otherwise the impression of a “naked body” will appear. If you want to add bright accents, the dress can be very simple. Just add bright shoes, a handbag or a thin red belt to make the look shine. The main thing is not to overdo it, since a neutral-colored dress can very easily get “lost” among the abundance of flashy details.

Beige shoes: a lifesaver for all occasions

Powdery color and all its variations are beloved by shoe designers. There is a reason for this: shoes in neutral shades are ideal for all outfits - daytime and evening. Both laconic ballet flats or classic high-heeled shoes, as well as various elaborate models with wedges, non-standard heels or without it, look equally stylish. The nature of the shoes in this case is determined by the decor and material.

All fashionistas should know that the right pair of beige high-heeled shoes not only makes you look slimmer, but makes your legs visually longer. But to do this, the following conditions must be met: high heels (and not medium or wedge heels), the tone of the shoes must match the skin color of the owner as much as possible. Black tights are bad manners here.

How to choose the perfect nude skirt

The skirt is universal, but each length has its own characteristics. Short or knee-length, the skirt goes well with both similar colors and red, green and - especially blue tops of all shades. If the combination involves the same color scheme, the skirt should have interesting details, cut or texture. The fabric can be of any density.

A floor-length skirt looks best if it is made of flowing fabric, such as chiffon. It can be worn with ballet flats or high-heeled shoes, but wedges and mid-heels should be avoided. The top for a maxi skirt is usually chosen to be as simple and plain as possible. But if you like to experiment and have a good sense of style, don't be afraid to try bold combinations.

Accessories in neutral colors

Powdery color also looks very beautiful in details: bags, clutches, necklaces, hats. If your image is designed in one color scheme, and you select accessories to match the clothes, they can be used to make the outfit catchy. If the clothes “play” due to the cut, details or texture, you can choose the simplest possible handbag (hat, etc.) and use them to further enhance the effect.

Accessories in neutral colors are indispensable if you love bright outfits - then the image will be balanced. For example, a bright maxi dress and red shoes will only benefit from a bag of the most delicate shade, and a light hat will prevent you from overheating in the sun.

So, powder color is universal and suits everyone. The main thing is to find your shade and combine it correctly with others. We hope we helped you with this. Shine!
