Chain-link mesh is most often used by summer residents to build fences and protect plants. And it’s unlikely to come to your mind when it comes to decorating your site. And in vain! This material has various variations, including some that are quite soft and easy to cut. And it's great for making rustic decor.

One of the advantages of this material is its low price. You don't have to spend a fortune on decor. And crafts made from mesh look very beautiful! And here are 10 proofs of this:

Fill the space of old picture frames

Stretch mesh instead of canvas and attach cards and notes to it. You can leave the space dynamic by changing the decor, or create a complete composition. In addition to clothespins, you can attach cards with satin ribbons.

If you store jewelry in a jewelry box, it may get tangled or lose its pair. A frame with a mesh will keep everything in sight. You can use an old window or a piece of plywood as a base.

Make placemats

Storing cutlery in a glass jar at the dacha is a tribute to tradition. Refresh your favorite Soviet design techniques with an original mesh braid. Such a stand will not seem like a temporary solution.

Build an egg basket

A convenient basket is always needed in the household. Weave it from solid wire and mesh.

Make a 3D panel

Place natural materials into a wire heart. For example, pine cones, acorns or beautiful branches. Cover the edges of the composition with rope or twine.

In the kitchen, our man always has two eternal problems: where to put the bag of bags and what to do with the numerous “string bags” for vegetables. We talked about the fight against packages quite recently. Today we’ll show you a useful and simple way to recycle fruit nets. And at the same time, stock up on sponges for washing dishes for a long time.

Eating vegetables and fruits is good, tasty and simply necessary. But confidently accumulating mesh “string bags”, in which useful things are packaged in supermarkets, is somehow not very good. Seriously, are you actually planning on using them for anything? Although, as it turned out, even a rough “mesh” can be used usefully. For example, turn it into a dishwashing sponge that can easily handle even soot and traces of grease!

You will need:
1. Mesh packaging for vegetables and fruits (the more, the better);
2. Scissors;
3. Needle and strong thread;
4. 5 minutes of free time

Step 1

Cut all the meshes into approximately equal pieces. They do not necessarily have to be even and equal. But the brighter and more contrasting the colors, the more fun and prettier the final result. And from the largest “string bag”, cut off the top to make a rectangular bag.

Step 2 and 3

Now place all the small pieces inside the mesh bag. If desired, you can additionally wrap them in another contrasting mesh. This way the sponge will work even better and look prettier. Now it’s a small matter: just sew the edges of the bag with thick thread.

Step 4

An effective “scrub” sponge for your dishes is ready! But if you want variety, you can make another one – round in shape. To do this, simply push the edges of the rectangular version inward and secure with thread.

For some reason, a mosquito net immediately comes to mind. Perhaps because we live in a swampy area and mosquitoes are our scourge. We cover all openings in the apartment (such as the chimney) with similar nets.

Well, for example, make a Christmas tree for the New Year holidays from the mesh left over from the bouquet.

To do this, you need to cut the mesh into squares of different sizes and string it on a knitting needle starting from large squares to smaller ones, decorate with beads and the Christmas tree is ready!

I agree with Tata all red. In the village I also use flower nets as protection against flies and mosquitoes on the windows. Although protection against mosquitoes depends on the size of the mesh cells. Even in the villages, these nets can be used to protect, for example, eggplants from the Colorado potato beetle. You put a net on an eggplant, and the beetle cannot damage it.

Lots of things. For example, you can make a candy tree. It will be just a great gift. You can also decorate a flower pot, make a lid for a jar of any shape, or you can simply make a lampshade. In general, there are many options, the main thing is your imagination and desire.

A friend of ours brought us potatoes in an interesting, small bag. At first we couldn’t understand what it was made of, so mesh with sparkles, beautiful, elegant, cheerful. Potatoes felt very comfortable there. And then we realized that this was an ordinary flower net. Our friend grandmother, very practical, because she will soon be 89 years old, took this mesh and sewed it on the sides, it turned out to be a wonderful bag.

I collect these nets and make regular washcloths out of them. I can make it plain, I can make it multi-colored. Good washcloths are also made from vegetable bags. For some reason, after the pool, children often do not bring all their things; washcloths are especially often lost. So I decided not to spend money, especially since finding a net is not a problem.

This mesh can be used in a huge number of crafts, if you are a fan of making something with your own hands, you will definitely need it!

If you decide to make a bouquet of sweets, you won’t be able to do it without a mesh:

    or candy tree:

    or topiary without candy:

You can also decorate the pot with it:

you can make the already mentioned Christmas trees

    or Christmas tree night light:

(in this version, pieces of mesh are dipped in PVA glue and wound onto a frame, for example from cardboard, and removed after complete drying)

    you can decorate a jar-vase

    or a jar lid

    can you make a lampshade

These examples are not very successful, but if you develop your imagination in this direction, it can turn out very cool!

I really like to make beautiful things with my own hands. I saw flowers on the Internet and decided to repeat them. This is what came out of it... But all you need is nothing: a little beautiful fabric and any mesh. How about you? Yes, and a bowl of toothpicks.

And now MK.

To make these beautiful flowers you will need: scraps of beautiful fabric (preferably thick), gelatin, mesh (or nylon lace), corrugated paper, copper wire, PVA glue, scissors, good mood.

1. Dilute gelatin (1 teaspoon per 0.5 cup of water), prepare it traditionally, as indicated on the bag.
2. Apply this water to the shreds (pre-ironed). It is better to apply with a sponge or soft brush. Make sure that there is not too much gelatin, so that it only saturates the cloth, but does not drain from it.
3. Hang the shreds out to dry, just like drying regular laundry. Just don’t fold the piece in half - hang it by the edge. And make sure that the shreds do not stick together. The drying process in the sun took me 3 hours.
4. Cut out petal patterns of the required size from a sheet of paper. and when the rags are dry, we draw 5-7 petals on them according to the pattern. With a pencil. Diagonally:

5. Fold the finished petal in half lengthwise (right side inward) and cut off the outer edge, approximately 3-4 mm wide. We get, as it were, an outline of the petal and a smaller petal. We fold it in the same way and also cut off the edge. as a result of these manipulations, we get from one petal: one large edge, one middle edge and a whole small leaf:

6. Place the finished edges on the mesh (again, diagonally), glue them, and set them aside to dry:

7. While the petals are drying, we will make the stems. To do this you need:

Take corrugated paper to match or contrasting fabric. We cut an edge 0.5 cm wide from the corrugated paper. We cut the copper wire (in my case, I cut it from some cord I found on the farm) into pieces twice the length of the largest petal.
8. Carefully wrap the wires with strips of corrugated paper: secure the edges with glue. In total we need 15 or 21 stems (depending on whether there were 5 or 7 petals initially):

9. Cut out the petals on the mesh with scissors and glue the finished stem to each petal and leaf:

Yes, I almost forgot. In the photo there is a bundle of wires with beads - this is a blank for the core of the flower (stamen). They are made simply - the bead is attached to a wire. You can also make a thread core. Like a regular brush, but made of thread and also secured with wire.
10. Assembling the first whisk. Around the core we collect the middle petals into a bunch. We secure the structure with thread:

11. Then we collect the second corolla from large petals. We also secure it with thread. And lastly we connect the leaves:

Please note that if we select the petals evenly (beginning to beginning), then the leaves are fixed at different heights.
12. We wrap the flower stem (all this is a lot of wires) with corrugated paper:

We bend the petals, give them a curved shape, and straighten the leaves.
