A popular belief that appeared at the end of the 20th century. In many countries, it is said that a shirt folded according to origami rules from a ten-ruble or one-dollar bill and placed in a wallet or purse brings profit and financial well-being.

Perhaps the power of this talisman depends solely on positive attitude its owner, however, the continuing popularity of these money amulets indicates that they still work.

Here is a diagram of folding a “money” shirt (Fig. 30).

A money shirt is a very original talisman that can be kept in your wallet and will bring you great luck and a lot of money. Or maybe just a beautiful keychain. You can make it yourself from a paper bill in a few minutes.

Step 1. We take a convenient bill, in our case it is a ten-ruble bill. We bend approximately one third of the bill on the left side.

Step 2. We fold the banknote in half lengthwise, then unfold the fold.

Step 3. Having unfolded the fold, we turn our future shirt over. Now we bend a small strip on the right side, as shown in the figure.

Step 4. We turn the banknote over again and bend our long edges towards the center, then again bend a thin strip on the right side.

Step 5. Unbend the left side completely and bend it at the edges thin stripes so that we get cuffs.

Step 6. And again we bend the long strips towards the center.

Step 7.From the left edge we bend the inner flaps outward so that the ends protrude above the lower edges of our shirt. These are our future sleeves. Then from the right edge we bend the corners forward so that they intersect the horizon of the center line. This is the future collar. Well, the money shirt is almost ready.

Step 8. Now fold the left edge to the right under the flaps at the collar, and the shirt is ready!

In the next article we will tell you how to do

Perhaps, each of us always has one or two paper bills in our pocket, but many do not even suspect that a real work of art can be made from this “piece of paper”! This type of art is called " money origami", simply put from money or moneygami.

Almost anyone can make the simplest counterfeit of a banknote; you just need to apply a little patience and perseverance. In this case, you will not need scissors, glue, or anything else - just desire and a few bills. You can easily find it on the Internet a large number of detailed photographs and diagrams of figure assembly. All schemes can be divided into professional and amateur. Professional money counterfeiting, as a rule, requires a lot of time and effort and, of course, considerable experience. Using amateur schemes, even a fifth grader can easily assemble a money figure.

Interesting fact. The most popular origami craft in the world is the paper airplane.

By the way, one of the most famous professionals of money origami is Won Park. He uses mostly one- or two-dollar bills, folding them into figures of animals, birds, people, objects, equipment and much more. His works simply stun the imagination with their precision and grace. In 2013, Won Park plans to turn his passion into profitable business, releasing a detailed book about moneygami.

3. Bend the edges on each half, as done in the photo.

Origami from banknotes is a very popular type of needlework today. First of all, this interesting way donate money. Usually we put banknotes in an envelope and write some wishes on it. Or we simply give a certain amount into their hands, without thinking of any other gift at all. But you can also model a figurine and give it as a gift. The recipient can keep a souvenir as a souvenir or unroll the craft and iron the bill with a warm iron so that it becomes smooth again.
This lesson shows the process of modeling a shirt from a banknote. A 50 ruble banknote was used to complete this craft, but you can make a gift that is even more expensive. Since the shirt is for men, it will be intended for a man. The occasion could be a birthday or February 23rd. Now let's look at the steps of modeling origami crafts.
To make the origami shirt I used:

  • 1 bill;
  • own fingers.

How to make origami out of money

1. Smooth out the banknote prepared for use. Place it vertically in front of you. Forget for a while that this is money in front of you, consider the workpiece as an ordinary rectangular paper part. It will just be in color, which complicates the work somewhat.

2. Lift the lower part of the rectangle up and make a bend. But the bend should not be located in the center, but lower, about 1 cm.

3. Turn the other side of the paper towards you.

4. Make a vertical fold, leaving the paper in this position. The line should run clearly in the center. Press the fold with your finger.

5. Unfold the paper, leaving the blank side facing you. Now you will see a vertical line along which you recently folded the workpiece in half. First fold the right side into a rectangle, then the left, without unfolding the previous fold. Smooth out the part with your fingers - it will turn out narrow and double.

6. Open the corners at the bottom, like curtains. Curl them at an angle symmetrically, pointing the ends straight through. But make the top points of the curtains a few millimeters lower than the line where the double layer of paper begins.

7. Turn the part back towards you. At the bottom you will see protruding corners from the previous folding. Make a horizontal fold at the top, 1 cm from the top.

8. Again turn the other side towards you, where the curtains are visible. Bend two corners at an angle at the top to create an imitation of a shirt collar.

9. Now lift the lower part up and place it under the collar. At the bottom, smooth out the paper and iron it.

The origami shirt made from money is ready. You can already give it to someone. For example, you can fold several bills into an envelope, and make the top one in the form of an origami craft. Or there is another way to glue an unusual shirt using double-sided tape to the envelope itself to decorate it. This is perhaps the most popular origami craft. It will definitely find a worthy use.
