Warm socks eliminate congestion. About the beneficial properties of sheep skin and wool Beneficial properties of wool for humans

Our grandparents knew that products made from natural wool had a number of advantages over synthetic products. And, if today you can surprise someone with such a natural material of a product, then fifty or sixty years ago no one wore other things. There were no synthetic hats, mittens, sheepskin coats...

But, along with the development of technology, progress has made its own adjustments to our wardrobe, and now it is increasingly rare to find products made from natural wool - they have been replaced by semi-synthetic and synthetic surrogates. And, although in appearance they are not too different from natural materials, their characteristics are completely different, which means their effect on the human body and health is also different.

Today we will not talk about what Wearing synthetic products is harmful to health because they accumulate static electricity, do not allow air to pass through, attract dust, and prevent our skin from breathing

We will talk about the benefits of products made from natural wool, and about their qualities and properties, which it doesn’t hurt us to remember...

Useful properties of products made from natural wool

  • We cannot do without such warm jackets and sweaters on a cold, bad day, because they not only warm our body, but also give a surge of strength, vigor and health. And, although someone may say that such natural products lose their original appearance after the first wash, if they are washed correctly, they will be able to delight you with their natural warmth for a long time.
  • Well, if on such cold nights you wear natural wool, in particular camel wool, which is hypoallergenic, then in the morning you will undoubtedly wake up cheerful and rested.
  • If you wear socks made of natural coarse wool on your bare feet, then in this original way you will not only warm your feet, but also be the sole of your feet, which will have a beneficial effect on the functioning of all internal organs and systems of your body.
  • If you put a wool blanket under an ordinary sheet, you will not only sleep more comfortably and warmer, but the condition of your skin will also improve.
  • For those who spend a lot of time at the computer, on cool days it will be useful to throw a woolen shawl over your shoulders or put on a sweater made of natural wool - you will forget about back and neck pain, fatigue and discomfort.
  • you can... with the help of woolen tights, leggings or leggings, which will not only warm your body, but also massage your skin, especially your problem areas.
  • ? Then, wear woolen mittens - they are both beautiful and useful.

Scientists have come to the conclusion that those women whose wardrobe is dominated by items made from natural materials look better, younger and more attractive than those women who wear only synthetics. In addition, such lovely ladies, after the winter, in which they dressed in natural sweaters and warm jackets made of natural wool, do not look so tired and pale, but, on the contrary, energetic and full of strength and health...

Characteristics of wool products

Whatever natural wool product you pick up, you should know that natural wool has the following properties and characteristics:

  • Higher heat resistance than synthetics
  • Over the years, such products made from natural wool only become softer and better, while synthetics lose their original appearance and become rough and tough,
  • The warmest wool in the world is that of camels.

Woolen products made from camel hair are unusually light and warm, in addition, the substances contained in the wool of these proud animals - lanolin and wax, which are produced by our body, have a rejuvenating effect on our skin, making it more elastic and elastic.

In such camel socks you will not freeze in winter, but you will not be hot in them on a summer day...

At 36-37 degrees, if you are wearing a sweater made of camel wool or you are covered with such a camel blanket, the lanolin contained in such wool is absorbed into the human skin and has a beneficial effect on the human joints and muscles, which is very important for those who complain of joint pain, rheumatism, arthritis, neuralgia and osteochondrosis.

In addition, another distinctive feature of products made from camel wool is their dry heat, which dilates blood vessels, stimulates blood circulation, activates metabolic processes in the human body and restoration processes in body tissues.

The beneficial effects of sheep wool and skins on the body have been known since ancient times. For thousands of years, animal skins played a huge role in human life - they were used to make clothes, shoes, housing, armor, utensils, and later they served as a monetary unit. Without chemicals, ancient man experimentally found various options for tanning leather using “environmentally friendly” methods. Modern man, alienated from nature, rediscovers them for himself.

Physical and chemical properties of wool:

1. Breathability: It has millions of air bubbles between the fibers, which makes it easier for oxygen to reach human skin while sleeping. This makes it possible to avoid the greenhouse effect and prevent the occurrence of colds.

2. Self-cleaning: constant air circulation in a woolen bed will eliminate the proximity of various harmful microorganisms, such as feather and dust mites.

3. Highly hygroscopic: wool absorbs moisture seven times faster than any other textile fiber, keeping the body dry and warm. It is this remarkable property that makes woolen underwear, woolen clothing and woolen bedding so useful because... Toxic substances are also removed along with moisture. The action of the reusable diaper system is based on the good hygroscopicity of wool, where woolen pants absorb so much moisture that you can completely abandon diapers and their counterparts for caring for babies.

4. Excellent thermoregulation: Wool fibers have very low thermal conductivity, i.e. Neither frost nor heat passes through the wool barrier to the body (in a sauna, for example) and, at the same time, wool does not release our own heat and maintains a very comfortable body temperature.

5. Natural varieties of wool contain active substances, the main of which is lanolin, which protects woolen products from contamination during long-term use. Wool does not irritate the skin and does not cause allergies - a disease of our civilization. For asthmatics, for whom dust mites and microbes are harmful, bedding and items made from natural wool are especially recommended.

6. Weak electrical conductivity: under normal conditions, wool is weakly electrified and does not retain dust particles. Despite its scaly structure and natural curliness, wool is a smooth fiber. Due to the large volume of air contained in wool, water and detergents easily pass through it and dissolve dirt.

7. Electrostatic properties: wool reduces positive ionization on the surface of the human body. This property is so important that it would be worth talking about it more often. The fact is that positive ions have a very depressing effect on a person, electrostatic voltage opens the gates to many ailments and diseases, and wool can help even at the source of the problem. Electric charges are neither created nor destroyed, they are only redistributed between bodies in contact, i.e. As a result of interaction with wool, the surface of our body acquires a much-needed negative electrical charge, freeing itself from a harmful positive one.
Dr. Albert Kruger conducted research in the field of microbiology and neurobiology back in the 50s and found that an excess of positive ions causes an overproduction of serotonin, a very active hormone that transmits impulses between the nerve cells of the human brain, controls appetite, sleep, mood and human emotions. The result of excessive release of serotonin during positive ionization is irritation, tension, exhaustion, hyperthyroidism, dizziness, headache, depression, anxiety and other troubles.

Healing properties of sheep wool and fur:

1. Natural wool has analgesic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties. Wool products are especially recommended for people suffering from arthritis, arthrosis, rheumatism, gout, osteochondrosis, orthopedic diseases, allergies, asthmatic (bronchial) diseases, circulatory disorders and muscle pain.

2. With any long-term disease, the electrical potential in the human body is disrupted. Sheep wool has a unique ability to smooth it out, and this speeds up recovery.

3. The use of wool for pneumonia gives very good results. A sheepskin “sleeve jacket” is put on the naked body, which is worn both day and night. This “shower” is much more effective than mustard plasters, cupping or rubbing; it resolves foci of inflammation. This is especially important for those people for whom such procedures are contraindicated.

4. Sheep wool will provide an invaluable service for such complications as otitis, sinusitis, submandibular lymphadenitis. Dry sheep wool compresses applied to the ear area, maxillary sinuses (under the eyes on either side of the nose) or enlarged lymph nodes under the jaw and neck help relieve pain and reduce inflammation.

In addition, the benefits of sheep fur for a child are simply invaluable. Since ancient times, sheep skin has been used to care for premature babies. This tradition still exists among the aborigines of New Zealand and Australia. Modern research has confirmed that sheepskin is not only comfortable, but also useful for children, both in winter and summer. Thanks to the correct natural arrangement of the fur, natural air circulation occurs, which protects the child’s skin from sweating and drying out. Sheep wool does not contain microorganisms that can have a harmful allergenic effect on the child. The soft fur provides a constant light but effective massage. Now there are special clothes for premature babies made of sheep wool.

In 1983, specialists from the University of Cambridge conducted research on special care for “problem” children and their development. Special sheep bedding (with shorter wool) was selected for children's incubators, and during the experiment it turned out: children born with a deficiency of weight gained weight well; on sheep skins, children quickly calmed down and cried less. Plus the complete absence of allergies. Similar experiments were carried out at home with normal children - with the same excellent results.

Sheepskin fur promotes faster development of the baby in external conditions, it does not lose heat and always remains dry. Provides effective prevention of colds and infectious diseases. Sheep skin warms the child, calms him down, improves blood circulation, and as a result relieves abdominal pain in a child suffering from gas. Normalizes intracranial pressure - the cause of headaches, anxiety, poor sleep and appetite, improves blood circulation and microcirculation, and also improves muscle tone. In the future, children who were on skins in the first months of life are much less likely to suffer from viral-bacterial diseases.
For colds, pneumonia, and sinusitis, doctors recommended that it is better to warm the child by wrapping him in a skin rather than torturing him with jars or mustard plasters.
The skins are very soft and fluffy, which children really like. The energy emanating from her is similar to the energy of the mother, which is why children calm down so quickly on her. She reminds the child of the affectionate and gentle hugs and touches of the mother, which the child so needs. Extraordinary softness and warmth contribute to the calmness of the baby when mother is not around.

To maintain these extraordinary properties, wool must be properly cared for. In the modern world, this is not a very difficult task, because almost every washing machine has a special mode for wool.
Here are some tips:
- The water temperature during washing should not exceed 30°C.
- If the product has long pile, comb only while it is damp. Use a special brush.
- Never use products containing chlorine.
- Do not dry mechanically or by squeezing. It is best to just let the product hang and dry on its own.
- It is best to dry on a flat, horizontal surface unfolded.
- It is recommended to keep away from direct exposure to the sun.
- Air the product 1-2 times a month for several hours. It’s especially good if this happens at high humidity; you can even create it artificially. This will cause the product to clean itself.
- If you want to wash the product, use products (shampoos, balms) intended for wool with lanolin.
Removing some stains:
- Wash iodine stains with cold water, then with alcohol.
- Apply starch paste to the blood stain, and then rinse.
- Lipstick can be blotted gently, without pressure, with fresh white bread.
- Red wine stains should be removed by rinsing with cold water.
- Chocolate should be washed off with warm water and a little soap.
- Food and alcohol stains can be removed with soda water. Wipe from the center of the stain to the edges, placing a towel under the stain from below.
- Fats and oils can only be removed with cleaning agents.

An analogue of sheep’s wool has not yet been created that can exactly replicate its unique properties... How did the sheep do this?)

Hello dear readers of my blog!

I am in a good mood and wish everyone good health!!!

Yesterday, excuse the detail, my back hurt a lot, but today it doesn’t hurt anymore, and I just tied a scarf made of Icelandic wool around the sore spot.

I am, of course, very glad that I was free of pain.

Maybe the wool scarf helped me, maybe it didn’t, but what difference does it make, the important thing is that my back doesn’t hurt!

Wool has always been famous for its healing properties. Even in ancient times, people knew that you could get rid of a toothache or headache if you applied wool to the sore spot.

The whole secret is in animal wax - lanolin, which is contained in natural wool and when wearing a woolen product at a temperature of 35-37 degrees (equal to the temperature of the human body), it easily penetrates human skin. Lanolin heals muscles, joints, spine, relieves pain and stimulates blood circulation.

When wearing a woolen item, a so-called electrostatic field arises, created by the friction of wool fibers against each other, and we receive a micro massage with a healing effect, enhancing blood microcirculation in the body.

The complex structure of wool, consisting of porous cells and air cavities, gives it softness, lightness and thermal insulation, which means dry heating improves blood microcirculation, having a beneficial effect on internal organs.

Thanks to the unique properties of wool in absorbing moisture up to 30% and the subsequent rapid evaporation of this moisture from the wool, we warm ourselves with dry heat, which is so beneficial for the body.

Wool is able to maintain the correct body temperature necessary for the human body, thanks to its properties similar to human skin, allowing the skin to breathe.

Perhaps what I stated above helped my back, who knows, but be that as it may, it no longer hurts! And this is the most important thing! Therefore, most importantly, dear readers, be healthy and enjoy life!

Dear readers, what do you think about my back: did the scarf help?

PS If you like our products, but have not read my previous posts, I have attached links to them below, if you wish, read them:

6. how to properly care for products

In ancient times, products made from wool and animal down were valued almost more than gold. A down scarf given for a wedding told the bride about many things - the groom’s love, his generosity and desire to care. Such a gift promised not only to decorate, but also to warm the beloved and give her health.

The natural properties of animal fur are truly unique. Thanks to good breathability, products made from it equally effectively protect the body from both hypothermia and overheating, maintaining its natural temperature.

Wool is hydroscopic, that is, it is capable of retaining moisture in combination with the ability to remove excess heat into the external environment, providing the body on which the woolen item is worn with dryness for a long time.

The ability to self-clean, as well as antibacterial properties, make wool a material suitable for use by both adults and children. In addition, natural wool can extremely rarely provoke the development of an allergic reaction.

Wool affects the nerve endings located in the surface layer of the skin, and thereby stimulates blood circulation, normalizes blood pressure, regulates natural heat exchange, and restores the body's immune system.

In addition, some types of wool neutralize toxins released to the surface of the body along with sweat. In addition, wool wax - lanolin contained in the fibers, relieves inflammation and has an antiseptic effect.

Dissolving at a temperature of 35-37 degrees, it has a beneficial effect on the joints, spine and respiratory system, and relieves muscle tension.

In addition, wearing clothes made of wool (naturally, 100%, without additives) is recommended for joint diseases, circulatory disorders, respiratory tract diseases, skin diseases, and migraines.

Of course, wool obtained from different animals, although it has a number of common properties, is also characterized by special properties inherent only to it.

In some countries, premature babies are wrapped in a blanket or blanket made of sheep's wool to nurse them. It is believed that then babies begin to gain weight faster and practically do not get sick, since the wool reflects the “attacks” of microbes and viruses.

Most often, people use sheep wool. This is due to the relative ease of its production, as well as its high yield (up to 15 kg of wool per year can be obtained from one Merino sheep). Sheep wool is valued for its excellent thermoregulating properties and its high lanolin content.

  • For arthritis of various origins (rheumatoid, metabolic, post-traumatic). In these cases, it is useful to wrap sore joints with wool.
  • For pneumonia, especially if mustard plasters and cups are contraindicated for the patient.
  • For otitis and sinusitis, dry compresses made from sheep's wool help relieve pain and inflammation if applied to the ears, maxillary sinuses or enlarged lymph nodes in the neck and under the jaw.
  • Goat hair is not used for clothing as it is tough and scratchy. Another thing is goat fluff. Its medicinal properties are appreciated by people suffering from joint diseases, and it is also hypoallergenic.

    Separately, it is worth noting the down of high-mountain goats, from which a material of amazing softness and lightness is obtained - cashmere. Of course, such fabric is very expensive.

    The rabbit fluff comes from a special breed of animals, the so-called Angora rabbits. In addition to making warm and beautiful clothes, rabbit fur can also be used for treatment. It especially helps with radiculitis and neuralgia.

    Rabbit wool retains heat no worse than sheep's wool, and is hypoallergenic, which is especially important for small children.

    Very durable, soft and elastic. It retains heat well, is resistant to stains and is capable of self-cleaning. Thanks to these properties, pillows and blankets made from camel hair are becoming increasingly popular.

    Wearing things made from this wool stimulates blood circulation, activates metabolism and restores processes in tissues. Most often, camel hair is used for osteochondrosis, radiculitis and rheumatism.

    Dog hair is a time-tested folk remedy for the treatment and prevention of kidney diseases, osteochondrosis, arthritis, and colds. The most noticeable effect is the rough, prickly fur, which “bites” the skin and promotes blood flow to the sore spot.

    The effects of using dog hair are sometimes compared to acupuncture. In addition, it also has an anti-inflammatory, restorative and warming effect.

    To use the healing properties of wool for the benefit of your health, wear items made from pure wool as often as possible - sweaters, socks, mittens. Give preference to blankets and bedspreads made from natural woolen materials rather than synthetics. If possible, work with wool more often - knitting, felting, etc. Remember, the closer the wool is to the body, the more benefits it will bring to your health.

    Good luck and stay healthy!

    Very useful information about wool, which I didn’t even think about before reading it. Warmth is good, but fending off a viral infection is new to me. Thank you.

    Alexey, I am always happy when someone finds new information in my articles. =)

    Nadezhda, how much you told about the properties of wool! I also know about camel, I slept under a camel blanket, warm and light. Sheep's wool is also familiar. I haven’t used the other types yet, but thank you for your advice!

    Now, unfortunately, you won’t find products made from pure wool during the day. I used to knit dresses from camel wool, so they were like a stove. And my friend’s dog is a diver. So she brushes him, then spins the wool and knits these sweaters!

    Wool, especially now, in winter, is important, it warms well, I knitted woolen vests and socks for everyone at home.

    It’s not for nothing that people have been using the fur of various animals for a long time! There are so many useful properties. Woolen socks are indispensable in winter, both for fishing and at the dacha - they keep you warm and keep you warm.

    Now I understand why our grandmothers knitted everything from sheep wool - it not only warmed, but also healed

    I read the title of the article and immediately thought of my grandmother. There were so many things connected. And I remember how she often wore a belt made of dog hair. My back often hurt and I knitted socks from it on my feet.

    I also agree about camel wool - products made from it are always so warm. And sheep's is good. In a word, all types of wool truly have healing properties. *IN LOVE*

    I once loved to knit, but now I don’t have enough time. Now I just bought wool for knitting and I get such pleasure from it!

    Elena, I also used to knit a lot, but now there are so many different yarns, but I knit a little, depending on my mood. =) =)

    I experienced the benefits myself. My hand was very painful and a friend advised me to tie a woolen thread. And it did help.

    Animal wool is a very useful product, and in some cases simply irreplaceable; I had to spin it myself on an electric spinning wheel, using both dog, sheep and goat. What warm and useful things can be knitted from this yarn, an irreplaceable thing.

    Yes, woolen things are great, especially in the age of total synthetics.

    Yak wool medicinal properties and uses in medicine

    Yak wool has medicinal properties. How yak wool is obtained and why it is unique.

    Clothes and accessories play a fairly important role in the life of any person, therefore, when choosing wardrobe items, we treat this with great responsibility and care. Today, most of the country's population predominantly chooses clothes made from natural, high-quality fabrics and materials. This is especially true for the cold season, and if you consider that in the European part of Russia there are up to 9 (nine!) cold months a year, then warm things, as a rule, predominate in the wardrobe. It will not be a big discovery that the warmest clothes are those made from natural wool and cashmere.

    In the modern world, the most popular wardrobe items are made from Mongolian yak wool, camel hair and Mongolian goat down. It is from the wool and undercoat of these animals that today it is possible to obtain high-quality, warm, soft and very light sweaters, stoles, vests, pullovers, socks, etc.

    Yak wool is precisely that exotic and unusual material that has gained the greatest popularity in textile production. In addition to clothing, products such as blankets, rugs, warming belts, etc. are also made from it.

    Mongolian yaks live in very difficult natural conditions, where there is a constant temperature difference. The animal's undercoat is very thick, which allows it not only to be constantly in the cold, but also to sleep on frozen cold ground, while its fur does not absorb moisture and protects well from frost. That is why the wool of the Mongolian yak is very highly valued. A special feature of products made from it is their lightness and softness, but at the same time they warm up and retain heat very quickly. This feature of these things is due to the fact that yaks are not sheared, but their wool is combed out. Therefore, products made from it are very soft, delicate and light. This wool is popular in the production of children's clothing, because given that babies' skin is very delicate and sensitive, products made from this material will be an ideal option for the cold season.

    In order not to make a mistake in your choice and to be sure that you are purchasing products made from Mongolian yak wool, you should know some points. The average fiber thickness is no more than 20 - 24 microns, and the length is 34.5-35.5 mm. Natural yak wool does not have a rich range of colors and can only be brown, gray or dark gray. And one more important fact. In addition to the fact that clothes made from Mongolian yak wool are natural, environmentally friendly, high quality, have a chic appearance, are comfortable and do not restrict movement, they are also easy to care for. Such woolen items are washed mainly by hand washing, but a “gentle” machine wash is also possible. Dry these products by laying them out on a flat surface. Ironing occurs through a damp cloth or the outfit is steamed. According to experts, yak down combines the warmth of camel wool and the luxury of cashmere. Cashmere lovers and connoisseurs may be pleasantly surprised by how close a jumper or blanket made from yak down is to cashmere products in terms of quality and softness of the wool. Allow yourself a little luxury and warmth!

    Healing properties of sheep wool.

    / Information taken from Internet resources /

    People are drawn to wool for a reason. She has good energy, and she also helps get rid of diseases. Since ancient times, people have gotten rid of toothaches, headaches, and lower back pain by applying natural, undyed wool to sore spots. And by tying the wrist or ankle with a woolen thread, they got rid of pain in the joint. In the old days, premature babies were placed in sheep's wool.

    Natural wool is a cure for many ills. For example, wearing felt boots, felt shoes, and simply knitted woolen socks significantly improves blood circulation, dilates blood vessels and reduces blood pressure in hypertension. Wool fibers, adjacent to the skin, thereby perform micromassage. Wool fibers gently, gently massage the nerve endings of the human body at the capillary level, which improves blood circulation and normalizes blood pressure throughout the body.

    A unique property of sheep wool is its content of lanolin (animal wax). Lanolin is an excellent natural antiseptic. Dissolving at a temperature of 35-37 degrees, lanolin easily penetrates the skin and has a beneficial effect on muscles, joints, spine and respiratory system, and also stimulates blood circulation and helps relieve muscle tension, which is necessary for healthy sleep.

    Sheep wool has a complex fiber structure with a large number of air cavities, which gives it thermal insulation properties. Due to its structure, wool absorbs up to 40% of moisture and remains dry. Such warming with dry heat is very beneficial for health.

    Thanks to its unique properties, wool can help in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Diseases such as rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, metabolic arthritis, post-traumatic arthritis, accompanied by joint pain, limited mobility, and swelling.

    Joint diseases with restriction of movement are treated with hot wool. The wool is soaked in hot salt water and the sore joint is wrapped in it for 20 minutes. After this, you need to massage it well. You can soak the wool in a salty solution, then dry it and place it dry on the sore spot overnight.

    Sheep wool is an excellent means of rehabilitation for fractures after plaster removal. It promotes pain relief and a rapid increase in mobility of the injured area of the body. It also brings great relief to radiculitis.

    Due to its therapeutic and prophylactic properties, sheep wool can reduce the symptoms of neuritis and neuralgia.

    It is used when caring for patients with bedsores. Hippocrates also proposed nursing seriously ill patients on animal skins. Thanks to its unique properties of taking excess moisture and evaporating it, as well as lubricating the skin with lanolin contained in wool, the effect of the three main causes of bedsores - pressure, friction and moisture - is significantly reduced.

    The use of sheep wool for pneumonia gives good results. A sheepskin “sleeve jacket” is put on the naked body, which is worn both day and night. This “shower” is much more effective than mustard plasters, cupping or rubbing in resolving foci of inflammation. This is especially important for those people for whom such procedures are contraindicated. With any respiratory disease, the electrical potential in the human body is disrupted. It is not leveled by any drug. Sheep wool has a unique ability to smooth it out, which speeds up recovery.

    Sheep wool will also provide an invaluable service for complications such as otitis media, sinusitis, and submandibular lymphadenitis. Dry sheep wool compresses applied to the ear area, maxillary sinuses (under the eyes on either side of the nose) or enlarged lymph nodes under the jaw and neck help relieve pain and reduce inflammation. Such compresses can prevent the development of purulent otitis and sinusitis, stopping them at the stage of catarrhal inflammation (you just need to catch the earliest signs of the disease).

    In addition, wool has electrostatic properties. It reduces positive ionization on the surface of the human body. This property is so important that it would be worth talking about it more often. The fact is that positive ions have a very depressing effect on a person, electrostatic voltage opens the gates to many ailments and diseases, and wool can help even at the source of the problem.

    R. S . On a personal note, I would like to add that I have experienced the healing properties of wool myself. In the spring, I fell ill with the flu and began to have a severe cough. I bought medicine that had to be taken at intervals of at least four hours. The cough did not give me rest and I kept looking at my watch - well, when can I take a drop, drink and not cough for at least an hour) Falling asleep in the evening was generally a big problem. I heard that wool is tied to a sore spot and decided to tie the wool to my chest (I just didn’t know what to do anymore, out of despair, one might say). She took the unwashed wool from the bag and tied it. By evening, I forgot about the medicine and fell asleep like a baby (with fur on my chest)). The next day, of course, it was necessary to consolidate the effect, but I had to go to work. And the cough returned, but I could already live with it) I slept for a couple of nights with the fur still on and the cough went away completely.

    It also helps with non-acute (aching) dental pain. I put it to my cheek when I went to bed. Yes, I fell asleep on the wool.

    I really love fur. I even love the way it smells) Especially when washed - for me it’s akin to perfume) Maybe in a past life I was a sheep?))

    One of the global directions of our workshop is handmade yarn from dog hair and knitted medicinal products from it. I will tell you the uniqueness and healing properties of dog hair in this post.

    Let me immediately emphasize that there is an incredible amount of information on the Internet about the healing properties of hair in general, and especially dog hair. Therefore, I will only talk about the wool of Siberian Huskies - the wool that we use.

    A little information about the wool itself:

    1) One of the important advantages of Siberian Husky wool is the absence of odor and hypoallergenicity

    2) Husky wool is water-repellent. Dogs can sleep in the snow or in the rain - water practically does not penetrate under their coat. Thanks to this quality, human skin does not sweat under clothes and products knitted from the wool of this dog breed

    3) Husky wool is very thick and warm, thanks to this, products made from it perfectly retain those
    Ploth and can withstand severe Russian frosts

    About the medicinal properties of Siberian Husky wool:

    It has been theoretically and practically proven that dog hair has unique healing properties with the effect of healing pain. All healing processes occur thanks to the pricking effect of wool on the skin, which promotes abundant blood flow to the sore spot and causes an effect close to acupuncture. Also, dog hair has a micro-massage effect, improves blood circulation and speeds up the healing process.

    Dog hair has anti-inflammatory properties. It can soothe pain in the bones, spine and even renal colic. Dog hair provides treatment and prevention for radiculitis, osteochondrosis, neuritis and rheumatism, diseases of the genitourinary system (pyelonephritis, nephritis, prostatitis). Treatment and prevention of urolithiasis, treatment and prevention of pinched nerves, help with pain and anemia in the lumbar region.

    Feet in dog hair socks always remain dry due to the property of dog hair to absorb moisture and dissipate it. Also, socks relieve pain in the legs.

    The habitat of dogs during their lives allows them to accumulate biologically active substances in their fur, which, when wearing a corset or belt, are able to penetrate the human body, neutralizing the negative charges inside it. This causes the pain in the muscles and joints to subside. This is the main therapeutic effect of dog hair. If you have periodic pain in the kidneys, in the female or male genital area, as well as in the lumbar region, then a belt or corset made of dog hair will certainly help you.

    So, I talked about the main qualities of dog hair and its healing properties.

    The healing properties of dog hair

    The healing properties of wool

    Dog hair can not only retain heat and keep you warm, but also has a beneficial effect on blood vessels, heart rate and normalizes blood pressure.

    As a result of the research, scientists have found that dog hair has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and restorative effects. It is used in the treatment and prevention of colds, varicose veins, joint and back pain, arthritis, etc.

    The benefits of dog hair are as follows:

    Coarse, prickly wool has the most pronounced effect. Yarn made from such wool carries a huge supply of energy.

    A hat made of dog hair will help get rid of headaches. A bandage will help with ear diseases, and a warm scarf will help in the fight against a sore throat. For radiculitis, a belt made of dog hair is simply irreplaceable. In case of problems with hands, knees and legs, mittens, knee pads and woolen socks will help.

    Dog wool, compared to sheep's wool, is much lighter and stronger.

    It helps in the formation of specific immunity against all kinds of allergens.

    What breeds of dogs have medicinal wool?

    The “hottest” are considered to be “Caucasians” and Asian Shepherds. Products made from the wool of huskies, Newfoundland, chow chow, and collie have a good thermal effect. But it is better not to wear these products indoors, as they are very hot. The coat of the South Russian Shepherd has the ability to completely repel moisture. Hats and berets are knitted from it (even in the rain your hair will remain dry).

    The coat of the black terrier is also not afraid of moisture.

    The Afghan hound has very durable wool, and products made from it have beautiful colors.

    Wool- This is a crimped fiber of animal origin, which is a horn-like formation of the skin of animals. The finer the wool, the more crimped it is. Crimp helps to obtain loose, fluffy and elastic yarn, as well as increasing the wear life of products.

    Wool fibers, being a skin formation, are keratinized cells of the outer layer. The sebaceous glands located in the skin near the hair root produce water-insoluble wool fat, which lubricates the hairs, protecting them from mechanical and atmospheric influences.

    Sweat glands located in the deep layers of the skin, secreting sweat, remove metabolic products - salts - and regulate body temperature.

    Fat and sweat, mixing, form animal wax that envelops the hair - LANOLIN. Lanolin dissolves at a temperature of 35-37°C, easily penetrates the skin and has a beneficial effect on muscles, joints, spine, respiratory system, and also stimulates blood circulation, relieves pain caused by arthritis, rheumatism, arthrosis, gout, osteochondrosis and helps to heal them . This most valuable substance is obtained from the washing waters of Merino sheep wool, and is widely used as a base for various ointments and creams!

    Wool production does not require the construction of huge factories, and reserves of this raw material can be easily restored as long as livestock farming exists. The wool can be cut or combed repeatedly. Its porous structure allows the use of gentle, safe vegetable dyes, and the entire production of wool yarn can be done without harmful technologies. And although there is a great variety of modern materials of artificial origin, woolen items occupy an increasingly important place in human life - after all, health is not the last place on the list of our values. The remarkable household, preventive and medicinal qualities of wool products come from its basic properties.

    Everyone knows this property of wool. Wool fibers have very low thermal conductivity, i.e. Neither frost nor heat passes through the wool barrier to the body (in a sauna, for example) and, at the same time, wool does not release our own heat and maintains a very comfortable body temperature.

    Hygroscopicity is the ability to absorb water.

    A little biochemistry: the basis of wool fiber is keratin protein, which makes up 70-85% of the mass. The high content of active groups in keratin that interact with water (-NH2, -OH) causes the high hygroscopicity of wool fiber. It has the highest moisture absorption of all fibers. Under the influence of water, wool swells intensely, and prolonged boiling or steaming of the fiber leads to its destruction. Wool reduces positive ionization on the surface of the human body. This property is so important that it would be worth talking about it more often. The fact is that positive ions have a very depressing effect on a person, electrostatic voltage opens the gates to many ailments and diseases, and wool can help even at the source of the problem.

    In other words, electric charges are neither created nor destroyed, they are only redistributed between bodies in contact, i.e. As a result of interaction with wool, the surface of our body acquires a much-needed negative electrical charge, freeing itself from a harmful positive one.

    A little biology: Dr. Albert Kruger conducted research in the field of microbiology and neurobiology back in the 50s and found that an excess of positive ions causes overproduction of serotonin - a very active hormone that transmits impulses between nerve cells of the human brain, controls appetite, sleep, mood and human emotions. The result of excessive release of serotonin during positive ionization is irritation, tension, exhaustion, hyperthyroidism, dizziness, headache, depression, anxiety and other troubles.

    And here is a list of the positive qualities of negatively charged ions given in a medical reference book

  • promote healthy metabolism, relieve tension, refresh the body and increase intellectual abilities;
  • reduce the incidence of oncological processes;
  • significantly reduce electrostatic voltage from operating TVs and computer monitors;
  • eliminate odors;
  • have a beneficial healing effect on respiratory diseases, acute and chronic diseases of the ENT organs, and allergies. At the same time, the risk of acute respiratory infections and other viral infections is significantly reduced, and immunity is increased.
  • Wool is resilient, elastic, strong, and has a crimped fiber (the finer the wool, the more crimped it is). Crimp helps to obtain loose, fluffy and elastic yarn, as well as increasing the wear life of products. Thanks to their good elasticity, woolen products do not wrinkle and retain their good appearance for a long time. Wool is hygroscopic, i.e. capable of absorbing water. At high humidity, it can absorb up to 33% of moisture relative to its own weight without being wet to the touch and slowly releases it into the environment. Wool's thermal conductivity is lower than that of many textile fibers. This is why wool bedding is the warmest.

    The main substance that wool consists of: keratin - belongs to the group of protein (protein) substances. Wool has always been valued for its healing properties. Even in ancient times, people got rid of toothache and headaches by wrapping their heads in a woolen scarf.

    Woolen products are especially recommended for people suffering from radiculitis or rheumatism. Radiculitis is a disease associated with the spine. People suffering from radiculitis are contraindicated to sleep on a down bed. At night, the body temperature drops slightly, and a person, trying to warm up, wraps himself in a blanket, but throws it off after a while, as he becomes too hot. A wet body instantly becomes hypothermic and in the morning we are no longer able to turn our necks or bend over. This happens because the body, which needs dry heat, does not receive it under a duvet that does not allow air to pass through. Wool absorbs moisture, allows the body to breathe and neutralizes harmful substances that the skin releases with sweat.

    Due to the fact that the wool from which our products are made is not treated with chemicals and dyes, it retains its biological properties and lanolin, which is so beneficial to health.

    • osteochondrosis;
    • orthopedic diseases;
    • allergies;
    • asthmatic (bronchial) diseases;
    • circulatory disorders.
    • During the night, a sleeping person loses from half to a whole liter of moisture through sweating. Wool absorbs moisture seven times faster than any other textile fiber, keeping your body dry and warm.

      Thanks to its special properties, similar to those of human skin, wool maintains the climatic conditions that are necessary for the body. It is not for nothing that the sons of the desert, from the time of Muhammad to this day, wear burnouses made of wool, which protect their heads from the scorching sun during the day and from the cold at night.

      Already a century ago, the famous researcher of the properties of wool, Professor Yeager, established that wool can neutralize skin fumes. Today's sleep hygiene research can confirm that sheep's wool, sheared from a living animal, neutralizes toxic substances.

      Under normal conditions, wool is weakly electrified and does not retain dust particles. Despite its scaly structure and natural curliness, wool is a smooth fiber. Wool repels water and other liquids. Due to the large volume of air contained in wool, water and detergents easily pass through it and dissolve dirt.

      The undeniable advantages of wool include the following:

    • wool allows the body to breathe;
    • wool neutralizes toxic substances released along with human sweat;
    • wool keeps the body dry;
    • wool is elastic;
    • Wool tends to stay clean.
    • The label “natural wool” is allowed to be used only if the wool is obtained from a live animal and contains no more than 7% of other fibers. Only such wool is marked with the world-famous mark of the International Wool Secretariat, which guarantees quality.

People are drawn to wool for a reason. It has good energy and helps cure some diseases. Since ancient times, people have gotten rid of headaches and toothaches by applying undyed natural wool to the sore spot. If you tie an ankle or wrist with a woolen thread, you can get rid of pain in the joint.

Natural wool is considered a cure for many ills, for example, by wearing felt shoes and woolen socks, you can significantly improve blood circulation, reduce blood pressure and dilate blood vessels. Wool fibers, being close to the skin, perform micromassage in this way. Wool fibers gently and gently massage the endings of nerves on the human body, which helps improve blood circulation and normalize blood pressure throughout the body as a whole.

Sheep wool contains lanolin, also called animal wax. It is a good antiseptic. Lanolin dissolves at a temperature of 36 degrees, and then penetrates the skin, having a beneficial effect on the muscles, spine, respiratory system and joints; it also helps relieve muscle tension, which ensures sound sleep.

Sheep wool can absorb 40 percent of moisture and still remain dry. This type of warming with dry heat is considered very beneficial for health. The unique properties of sheep wool help cure diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system. Such diseases include arthritis and rheumatism.

Sheep wool is also used for nursing patients with bedsores. Due to its unique properties, it reduces the effect of the three main causes that lead to the formation of bedsores - friction, pressure, moisture.

Sheep wool can have a chemical effect on the human body. Thanks to this property, wounds and fractures heal faster. Wool fibers, which are part of sheep's wool, have a beneficial effect on skin receptors, which helps accelerate regeneration processes in cells and relieve unpleasant pain.

With any disease, the electrostatic potential in the body is disrupted; it can be restored exclusively with natural products. Wool fibers “rub” among themselves, which helps create an electrostatic field.

Due to its complex structure, products made from sheep wool have heat-protective properties, lightness and softness. Warming properties have a beneficial effect on human internal organs and help improve blood microcirculation.

Human skin constantly needs “breathable” materials, so many people buy a sheep wool blanket to heat exchange in the body was not disturbed. Natural wool products have recently become very popular, since they improve human health and provide the necessary comfort to the body.
