Skirt and legs - the perfect combination

Hello. This short post is about how to choose a skirt based on your leg type. There is an opinion that skirts suit absolutely all women.

Once I crossed paths with an elderly Uyghur woman. She was not a beauty. There was no talk of any chest-waist-hip line. Endless folds and wrinkles. She reminded me of Tortila the turtle. But how feminine she was! Unhurried, smooth. Soft lines in clothes. Always some beautiful, thoughtful layered outfit. Decorations are a must. She simply fascinated me. A beautiful woman. When I see such an attitude towards myself, I rejoice. I am pleased to watch and be next to such ladies.

But let's return to our feet. What to do if you do not have perfect legs. I myself don’t know what perfect legs are. A friend who studied at art school once told me that ideal legs standing exactly together should have either three or four gaps. If you have fewer gaps, do not place your feet exactly next to each other. Find your winning position.

Individuality is a quality that you need to be able to play up. And any flaw can either be turned into an advantage or disguised with the right clothes. And when passing judgment on your legs: that they are too full, too thin, remember that in addition to centimeters of girth, there is also shape, length, as well as the overall proportionality of the figure.

Some full legs should really be hidden in wide, long skirts, while others look completely harmonious in knee-length skirts. With full legs, it is very important to find the length that will hide the fullness of the legs of your particular shape. And it is not at all uncommon for a skirt with a length just above the knee or to the knee, or a classic length just above the knee, to be acceptable.

It's all a matter of choice, depending on the style of the item and your personal characteristics. If you have a slender ankle, you should definitely show it off.

It will be good if the skirt ends at a narrow place on the leg, otherwise from under the skirt the legs will look like columns.

And you need to remember that you can reduce the volume by visually elongating the figure. Therefore, if you have full legs, it is advisable to give preference to shoes with heels. It is also desirable that the skirt, tights and shoes be in the same color scheme. It also visually stretches and lengthens the legs. Tights in warm colors visually increase the volume of the leg, while tights in cool colors reduce it. Try to make a darker bottom, a lighter top, which will visually lighten your image. Avoid bright, large prints at the bottom.

For full legs, flared, godet or conical skirts are good. Give preference to softer, flowing fabrics. Avoid ankle boots that reach mid-calf; they visually shorten your leg.

Thin legs

When thin legs have a beautiful shape, no disguise is needed. If you need to add visual volume, this can be done with tights. Light, openwork, with a pattern. No monochrome.

I have a relative - a tall, slender girl. Everything seems normal, proportional and harmonious. But if I wore black tights with wide boots, I couldn’t calmly look at how thin my legs were! True, now it’s more common to be proud of thin legs. This is not bad, if without fanaticism.

Short legs

It needs to be visually lengthened. Use shoes with heels or wedges. Vertical lines in silhouette. Avoid short, wide-cut skirts. An absolute ban on low-waisted skirts.

High-waisted skirts with a tailored belt will help lengthen your legs. If you have low buttocks, then the skirt is a tulip skirt with a high waist and knee length. Long skirts, long with pleating - this is also a fine vertical division. Pencil skirts, straight to the knee. The top should end above the hip line.

My niece has grown up to be as tall as me. Once we measured our backs and it turned out that with the same head line, the line of my buttocks was much lower. Like this: I lived half my life and didn’t know that I had short legs. And thank God!

Crooked legs

With any curvature, there is no need to wear a mini and a vertical stripe at the bottom. A high heel, like a flat sole, emphasizes the curvature; a medium heel is better.

O-shaped, with curvature at the bottom

Well, everything is simple here: flared, conical, long or mid-calf.

X-shaped, diverging in different directions from the knee

Straight, flared to mid-calf. If the skirt is knee-length, monochrome at the bottom is desirable so as not to emphasize the flaw. If godet, let the flare start not from the knee, but above.

If you have a flaw, play it up, don’t show it off. Don't tell anyone that something about you is ugly. Look in the mirror more often and listen to yourself. Make sure you like your reflection.

There is a woman without an arm from birth. She lives a full life and disguises her shortcoming in such a way that people are very surprised to find out about it after weeks, or even months of acquaintance. This is how it happens.
