Tuberous xanthomas form multiple and symmetrically on the skin of the face and other parts of the body, including the scalp. Tuberous lipoma on the forehead, on the cheeks, near the ears, on the back of the head can be either a small ball the size of a pea or a large tumor - the size of a walnut. The xanthomas are motionless and dense, but, being close to each other, they merge together, due to which they acquire a lobular structure. The color of such wen is yellow with a purple tint. Some of them may have a red and blue border.

What causes wen to appear on the face in adults and children?

Scientists have found that the appearance of different types of lipomas is provoked by different factors:

Milia are either primary or clinical. The first appear suddenly and may be a consequence of prolonged exposure to sunlight on the skin. The second ones arise at the site of injury inside the scar.
