DIY New Year's costumes. DIY children's New Year's costumes patterns Avant-garde snowstorm costume for girls do it yourself

Buy or make DIY children's New Year's costumes? On the eve or school day, this dilemma is solved by all caring mothers. And it seems that sewing is very difficult, difficult, and something may not work out. But on the other hand, by making your own costume for a child, you will take into account all his wishes, the costume will be as comfortable as possible, fit in size, and besides, you will be able to fulfill your child’s dream of wearing the costume of his favorite fairy-tale character.

Costumes were invented for this purpose, so that in the festive whirlwind our daughters have the opportunity to become real fairy-tale princesses, and our sons - brave cowboys, astronauts, and wizards from Hogwarts school. When a mother sews a suit with her own hands, she always knows exactly - she simply asks what exactly her child wants, puts her whole soul into creating the outfit, so such a suit simply cannot fail to turn out chic.

How to sew children's New Year's costumes with your own hands

You can get ideas on how to sew children's New Year's costumes with your own hands from various sources. Usually, on the eve of the New Year, articles with tips and tricks on sewing are published both in specialized magazines with patterns and in regular publications dedicated to raising children. But you can also use your own ideas, especially if you are good with imagination. The costume can be traditional, for example, costumes of animals or fairy-tale characters, national, when some bright elements of folk costume are used, or original - when the idea of a rare, but therefore interesting, costume is taken as the basis.

Surely your child has one or more favorite fairy-tale characters. And so what if it’s hard to get a Lightning McQueen or Rapunzel costume in the store - you can sew absolutely any look. If making a whole suit seems too complicated for you, then for mothers at the initial level of tailoring training, we can advise you to decorate ready-made dress or a suit with elegant decor. For example, a simple raincoat and a large bow tie will turn your baby into a magician, and paper wings attached to a regular white dress will make your baby look like an angel.

Costume ladybug refers specifically to those simple products. In your child's wardrobe you need to find dark pants and a dark blouse. This could be a shirt, golf or black bodysuit. You need to cut out two semicircles from a large sheet of thick cardboard. If your cardboard is not initially red, then to decorate ordinary material (borrowed, for example, from an old cardboard box) you can use colored paper or, which will look much more impressive, scarlet fabric, for example, fleece. We cut out two semicircles from the fabric and glue them onto a cardboard base on both sides. Glue black circles on top, as many as you see fit for your ladybug. We sew a belt to the wrong side in two places of such length that it is comfortable for the child to put it over his shoulder. We do the same procedure with the second wing. The head is also easy to make - choose a dark cap to which you attach the wire. The wire in the fabric cover can be bent into a spiral using pliers. You can attach small balls or pompoms to the end of the wire.

Last year the Snake costume ruled the roost and all the mothers tried to portray something similar to it, but this year we will have a real horse show. There are actually more than enough horse costumes on sale, and if you want to make something special and unlike anyone else, you can make a horse costume with your own hands. For the presented costume, the most difficult thing is a hat made of velor or plush in the shape of a horse's head. The costume can be arbitrary - for a boy a vest and trousers, for a girl - a sundress or a skirt with a vest. You also choose the color that you need. For a girl, you can make a high plume ponytail on her head, decorated with beautiful accessories.

DIY children's New Year's costumes: master class

If you have decided on a theme for your children's New Year's costumes with your own hands, a sewing master class will be far from superfluous. By carefully following the photo tips, you will avoid unnecessary mistakes and inaccuracies, making your costume as quickly and simply as possible.

For such a bold and charming Puss in Boots costume, you will need three mandatory elements: a raincoat, a hat and trousers paired with over-the-knee boots. If you can buy a hat in any masquerade department, then you will have to tinker with the pants. You can use your son's sweatpants as a pattern. This way you can accurately guess the size. Place the trouser legs on the fabric and redraw their pattern. Then sew all the resulting elements together so that you have wide-legged trousers that reach just below the child’s knees. Their top will be secured with a belt with a shiny buckle, and the bottom will be gathered when the boots are sewn on. For boots, you can use a simple thin fabric, for example, crepe-satin, but be sure to iron the sole elements with dublerin or a similar material to give the desired rigidity.

For girls, you can make a ladybug costume from similar patterns. We again see a raincoat with a drawstring and a short flared sun skirt. In this case, you can use the most basic patterns that we were taught back in school during labor lessons. The bottom of the skirt will be fuller if you make a layer of light mesh. She keeps her shape perfectly and looks very elegant. A ribbon made of this material is trimmed with bias tape on both sides, threaded, gathered, and then stitched on a machine. To find out how much mesh you will need, you need to multiply the length of the bottom circumference of the skirt by three. It will be easier to sew the circles on the cape if you glue them to the surface with a glue stick first. To make the raincoat stiffer, lay out strips of non-woven fabric on its underside and iron with a hot iron. For the antennae, you can take a black headband, attach a wire wrapped in velvet fabric to it, and disguise the attachment point with fur or fluff.

DIY children's New Year's costumes patterns

Already developed for DIY children's New Year's costume patterns make life much easier for mothers who were not very diligent in mastering the intricacies of sewing at one time. Nose step by step instructions You can easily make even such a complex costume as Little Red Riding Hood's outfit.

Traditionally, it consists of a blouse, vest or corset, apron and skirt. The patterns, as you can see, are completely simple. For the apron you will need simple details- a belt and a semicircle, which are sewn in the middle. The more beautiful and openwork the fabric for the apron is, the more elegant it will be. You can easily take a blouse that is already in your wardrobe. The corset is sewn from fabric of a contrasting color with the obligatory imitation of lacing. A petticoat made of white mesh will add pomp to the bottom.

To create children's costumes, you can easily use patterns for adult clothes, but reduce them proportionally. For a sorceress costume, all you need to do is sew a cape with wide sleeves and dress the child in a white shirt with a bright tie. If embroidery is not your thing, then you can find in the accessories department numerous ready-made appliqués, which are either sewn on with thread or glued after ironing with a hot iron.

The original Squirrel costume is made without any patterns at all. Its main element is a fluffy tail made of fur. It is made on the basis of a wire frame, which is attached to a belt or strap. The fur skirt is just a sewn rectangle, without any darts or folds. The squirrel's ears are also decorated with tufts of fur, but otherwise they are ponytails tied with elastic bands on the top of the head.

Back to simple suits, which are made much easier than all the previous ones. The angel costume is made on the basis of a wide robe made of white fabric. The main difficulty in this costume is to create real angel wings. You can, of course, make them from paper, but they will look quite modest. Instead of feathers, which are undoubtedly not easy to find, you can use snow-white fluffy tinsel, gluing it onto a cardboard base. The halo on the head is also decorated with white faux fur or white tinsel. As a base, you can buy a thin children's hoop white. Using rigid wire, form a circle, screw fastening wires to it on both sides, and attach them to the hoop. Next, using glue or thin wire, wrap the entire structure with the selected material, especially paying attention to the areas where the wire is attached.

A magician's costume for a boy consists of a cloak, vest and pants. But if you want to save your time, you can get by with just a raincoat and a bow tie, complementing the suit with a top hat and a magic wand. Choose the fabric carefully, it should look festive, since the costume itself is quite simple, but it shouldn’t be.

The costume needs to be added with icy luxury - don’t skimp on silvery rain, sparkling stones, beautiful trim. To simulate frosty patterns Openwork knitting, thin lace, and neat embroidery are perfect. The dress can be of any shape, but for a Snowflake costume, preference should be given to a short and fluffy skirt, and in a Snow Maiden costume it will look beautiful long dress straight cut made of fairly dense fabric. Think and make a beautiful hairstyle.

I think, white will do dress, and let there be some kind of cape like a veil on the head. The dress can be decorated with blue snowflakes.

In my opinion, a blizzard costume must be white and silver. Consist of a floor-length skirt and a velvet top. And also wide sleeves.

    Sun skirt pattern.

We sew faux or real fur at the waist and along the length of the skirt in several places. The skirt itself will be held on by an elastic band. The main fabric can be any one with a pile or shiny, such as velvet.

Cut the top of the modem according to the T-shirt, only the sleeve trims. We also sew a stripe onto the neckline faux fur. At the back it can be tied or fastened with a button.

A headband decoration would look great with such a costume.

Video master class of the kanzashi crown with your own hands.

I had the opportunity to sew Metelitsa costumes, this costume can easily be called Winter.

The first association is that the suit should be white and you can add silver and light blue. The main thing in the Metelitsa costume is the cape, it should be light, airy, flying, organza is best suited for a cape, it has a shiny shade, but you can use wedding tulle, thick chiffon, soft nylon, and from non-transparent fabrics - satin or silk. The dress can be the simplest, the main emphasis should be on the cape. The edges of the cape can be trimmed with silver Christmas tree tinsel, as well as white fur trim. Place a crown on your head, or make a cape with a hood.

For me, Metelitsa’s outfit is associated with something light, airy, white or pale blue. Therefore, I would choose a dress for this carnival look in similar colors.

Instead of a dress, a universal tutu skirt made of white tulle can also be suitable. Look how perfectly she will complement one of Metelitsa’s outfit options:

Here, learn the principle of its creation (quite simple)

This advice will help you in calculating the required fabric.

Don't forget to put a crown on your Metelitsa. It can be purchased either in a store or made from white cardboard plus elastic bands. And add glitter and tinsel at your discretion.

A magic staff would also be quite useful. Glue a large snowflake or star onto the top of any suitable stick, wrap the staff in shiny fabric or Christmas tree rain, and Blizzard is ready to cast a spell.

Here is another good option, suitable for Metelitsa.

    Description:

An original organza cape is placed on the shoulders.

    Well, accessories:

For inspiration, consider these images of Metelitsa:

Blizzard is associated with snow, wind, lightness, and transparency.

From here, a transparent cape will look good in a suit, and as a basis for the suit it is enough to take a white or blue ready-made dress.

Capes can be made in different ways, depending on which image you fancy.

It could be a round cape.

    Or a cape-cloak.

    Cape poncho with hood.

The fabric for the cape is suitable for any translucent or transparent fabric - chiffon, organza, tulle, etc.

As decoration you can use boas, tinsel, light (lush) padding polyester, or sew on snowflakes.

I will offer several variations and try them out.

In the first case, the basis is taken blue dress sew a cape, a crescent-shaped headdress, if you don’t like it, make a snowflake. A snow-white veil begins from the headdress. Everything can be seen in the photo below.

    This pattern would also work.

I saw a colleague’s blizzard costume, which she sewed for her daughter herself. This was two years ago. Dress made of fabric similar to satin, rich blue color. She made it from wedges that started under the breasts and widened towards the bottom. The sleeve is long. You can make it according to the principle of the Snow Maiden’s dress, only without buttons, over the head. Don’t make it too short, otherwise the snowstorm will be short. It is better to do it approximately to the knee.

Make a pattern by taking any successful child’s dress and laying it out on paper, adding on all sides and cutting out. You can try on some old fabric. Well, there will be no wedges, there will be a different dress, most importantly - a New Year's dress.

On the head is a high carved crown. You can make it, as they used to do, from thick paper, and cover it with the same fabric as the dress.

Decorate both the dress and the crown with sparkles, sequins, rhinestones... Whatever your imagination allows.

Also decorate the sandals or shoes the child will wear.
